Most spectacular ambiance of any Asian Bistro in Fairfield County and I liked the sushi rolls

Delicious sushi, clean and modern restaurant, friendly staff.
Overall, a great experience. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We’ve done «order-​out» from WAFU a few times now and I have to say we’re big fans! besides the food being great, fresh, yummy-​delicious, a HUGE pull for us is, unlike a bunch of other places in the area, the woman who answers the phone at WAFU is ALWAYS friendly, pleasant, easy going and accommodating. This is very important to us because honestly, after living in NYC for years, we have yet to find extraordinary Asian restaurants that can compare to the Queens Asian scene so, after the food needing to be really good and fresh, the defining factor really is about how the person answering the phone interacts with me. I personally prefer to speak to someone who is pleasant than an inflexible rude person who says «no» to slightly adjusting a sushi roll.

PHENOMENAL! I have been a sushi hunter for a long time now, and I don’t understand how I haven’t found this place sooner! Geez this place is REALLY up there– I’ve got a couple other favorite places I’ve been loyal to, but this place already takes the cake, basically sliding into first base.
The place itself is really hip with a trendy atmosphere. The service is really good– your always Getting checked up on —

I had the miso soup which was delicious, the house salad which their ginger dressing lived up to the part .
And well last but not least the sushi! What can I say — it was outstanding ! Everything from the presentation, and down to the actual pieces and the way it melts in your mouth.
certain pieces of sashimi were paired up with paper thin slices of fresh lime. What an amazing combination/​simple and genius, yet never been to a place that serves it this way.
Also — they have a larger then average sushi selection. So have no fear you will find what you desire and then some!
I’m a sashimi person so you get 2 pieces per order. The prices are pretty much in line with the quality so it’s worth every penny.
This blows almost every place in Fairfield county out of the water. Don’t hesitate — don’t walk to this place — RUN — FAST!

Fresh. Good flavor combinations. Great rolls. Courteous service. Accommodating to children. Ipad menus really helpful since it’s a little dark.

My friend is a regular at this place so naturally, for her bday lunch, she wanted to eat here. Our party of five ordered a bunch of apps to share such as the kani salad and a few rolls. They were all very good. For our entrees, most of us ordered the hibachi combos– very filling and tasty. Lunch prices weren’t too bad. I’d go back for their specials. I noticed the dinner prices were a little higher than normal though.
Great interior, modern and hip. Totally wasn’t expecting that judging from the plain exterior.

Décor is new retro cool and the possibility of a $ 50 coupon inside a random egg is also a nice way to greet you. We got our iPads and figured out what we wanted to drink and were asked so in about 10 minutes, which was appropriate. But then… we had our drinks for over 20 minutes without hearing from our waiter.
We had to get a different waiter to order, and she took care of us promptly i suppose.
The miso was okay, a lot of it, but – no we didn’t order those shrimp, thanks – but it led to the chilean sea bass on a stick. the sea bass was pretty good, buttery and fell right apart in your mouth, but not too special.
The golden bridge came and was a nice presentation — no we didn’t order the dragon roll, that’s the other table – and the golden bridge was fine, and filling. But the PETER ROLL was amazing. just incredible texture and flavor and contrast and fish quality was – no…we didn’t order the hibachi – and the two special rolls were actually quite filling.
We ask the other waitress (not our waiter) for the check and we get the manager and she asks if everything was okay and if we want a card that gets us 10% off next time. I told her that we’re not mad, but we probably weren’t coming back; as it was a long wait before we got our order and no one seemed to know where the food was going (hence the previous –no we didn’t orders). She said that the place was strangely busy for that time of night and that’s why.
It was a Friday night at 7:30 and there were over 8 empty tables. And you don’t say that as an excuse. Or you say we’re sorry, we’ll take off a sake or something.
Service was bad, and the Peter Roll was amazing but not enough to come back.

Swank and bling to the umpteenth degree. It’s so over the top that it’s cool! The food (sushi) is phenomenal. By far the freshest sushi in ffld county. In addition, presentation and service are spectacular. I’m still not sure what the sake chant is about but it sounded fun! Highly recommended.

The shrimp pad Thai at Wafu is the best I’ve ever had!!! Great fresh food and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Best sushi place in the area! Simon and his wife are so sweet and always take good care of us. Ask for the Simon special and never turn down a sake bomb!

I’m really impressed with this place. The service is definitely one of the best I’ve seen for a sushi restaurant. The staff were attentive, super friendly and kind, and I just can’t say enough about how top notch they are with making sure our water glass are always filled. I swear we must have drank through 4 glasses but it would never seem like it because our glass were never empty. The presentations was impressive and so was the food. The place is very classy and elegant. I would definitely return to try more dishes.

Outstanding food and amazing drinks. If you are looking for everything from lychee Martinis, specialty Drinks to bourbon manhattans, this is the place to be. Menu changes frequently to create new and exciting choices. A must visit in Fairfield county.

We arrived at about 5:30 and it seemed that no one was in the place including a hostess. We did finally get seated but it took someone in the kitchen to find the hostess. We received the ipad menu’s. (a lot of people think this is cool but I personally hate it as it’s difficult to navigate)
We ordered our food and WOW. it was awesome. loved my sushi roll, the sesame chicken was great and my son said the noodles were the best he ever had.
Will upgrade to 5 stars if they get a hostess who is around.

AMAZING SUSHI! Very high quality food. Great service. Someone is always checking in on you… sometimes a little too much! Every dish and roll has been above standards and expectations.
Highly recommend the dragon sushi roll and the thai curry entrée dish.
They also give you a rewards card so you can get 10% off the next time around.
Ambiance is great. It kind of has a tropical theme (all blue and white) but its cool and they also have ipad menus! Way to be unique.
Overall — great place. Def give it a shot.

I love this place so good great sushi and great Asian pizza yum and very nice staff overall great experience. this is hands down my favorite place for sushi and that Asian pizza is super good!

Went here for lunch and it was amazing! Got tons of food for such a good price! Amazing and would definitely return and recommend. Beautiful presentation of food too!

Well, Simon opened his own place! He definitely went with the modern décor but I like it. The sushi is fantastic and the presentation is as always, beautiful.
I have yet to explore the rest of the menu but look forward to getting back there and doing just that. Thank you Simon,

Lots of sushi and Asian Fusion restaurants in the area, but this place is a cut above. The interior design is modern and fresh and someone actually though a lot about how they wanted the restaurant to look and feel. It works.
The sushi is ridiculously good and fresh. It is not the most expensive or the least expensive, but everything I’ve had has been excellent. The three roll lunch specials are maybe the biggest bargain around… for less than you’d pay for a Shake Shack burger, fries, and drink, you get a real feast.
Although I have wanted to try their prepared Thai and Japanese entrees, the sushi always has prevailed… so far. So strictly based on sushi and rolls, I prefer it to Matsu Sushi and it is every bit as good as Pink Sumo or Tengda.
There is a restaurant called Daiko Japanese Restaurant and Jerry Sans Sushi Bar on Rt. 34 in New Haven, across from Yale Bowl. It’s been there for years and was always my favorite. Wafu is right up there.

My favorite sushi restaurant in CT — amazing, fresh sushi! The special rolls have an insane amount of components and you basically need a knife and fork to eat them… but I love that! They run $ 16+ but unlike other sushi joints, you really just need one to make a more than satisfying meal.
Wafu really shines with their lunch specials. The three roll combo offers unique choices like tuna mango, lobster salad, and crispy octopus. The salmon avocado roll had generous portions of salmon and two chunks of avo in each piece. The eel avocado roll had ridiculously huge portions of eel. All of the rolls used «just enough» rice — unlike many other places that use way too much. Each roll was served in a separate box and both miso soup and salad were included.
They also offer a full hot menu. The specialty drinks are equally as good as the sushi. My Jalapeño Margarita was delicious! The décor is modern and very nightclub-​esque — but tasteful. The service is prompt and eager to please. Overall, very classy food, atmosphere, and service!

Mais celui-​ci est un restaurant asiatique haut de gamme. j’en suis époustouflé.
Une de mes rares expériences culinaires inoubliables.
Des recettes surprenantes, extraordinaires.
Du gout, des couleurs, des textures croquantes, molles ou entre les deux, des formes, des mélanges de saveurs, du chaud, du froid, des décorations, du véritable art culinaire.
J’y ai passé un repas plus que surprenant.
Ambiance sympathique, clientèle haut de gamme décontractée.
l’addition, bien qu’élevée, est raisonnable, vu la qualité de la prestation.
A tester absolument.
