My massage was great. This review is for the mani pedi. Paint was all over my skin and not fully covering my nails. It looked like a child painted them. The cuticles and dead skin wasn’t trimmed. She said it was because that’s not healthy to do. Honestly I could have done my own nails for free. My husband paid 165 for this package. 75 for mani pedi. Absolutely not worth the money!!! I called them because an hour later, the gel polish was already peeling off. They offered another mani. No thank you!!! I will not be returning. Just terrible! Unprofessional! Save your money!

I expected so much more from this spa. The pedicure was terrible. I give myself better pedis than what I got. The woman doing my nails was also quite rude. This was such a waste of my time. Stick to your mom and pop nail salon.

I have been going to Terrace Retreat for nearly 10 years and every time I go, I wonder why I go. I will not anymore. From massage to facial to mani/pedi, any service has always been below average. I’m pretty sure last time I went my esthetician was on her cell phone in the middle of my facial and the massage therapist doesn’t really appear to know pressure points or how to rub out knots. As for the nail care, it was honestly the worst trim/callous removal/paint job I’ve ever had. The lady was so very sweet but goodness it was a terrible pedicure. I’ve done a better job myself at home with nail clippers and toothpicks. I would expect so much more from a Southlake establishment. I’ve been fooled too many times by great deals, coupons and incentives but I just can’t go there any more.

I went in to get my hair colored, highlighted and cut… it was uneven and the highlights were various thicknesses so it looked bad. I called and told them I would like it fixed… they had me come in the following Saturday for an appointment at 9:00 am. The girl wasn’t even there yet! I waited 40 minutes for her to arrive!!! Then she said a he saw what I was talking about with the unevenness and would fix it. She added highlights that are brassy and horrible looking… and added BLACK hightlights!!!(My hair is dark brown with blonde highlights) it looks HORRENDEOUS!!! I’ve called 5 times and the owner/manager called once when I was at work. I called and have left 5 messages now with no resolution. This place is not good by any means! I left with dye all over my arm from the sloppy work and my shirt soaked down the back from when my hair was washed… which by the way wasn’t pleasant at all, it was this hard scrubbing on my hair and it was all knotted when she was done. Terrible job!!! YOU’VEBEENWARNED!!! Oh and they charged me 130 for a partial highlight color and cut but they charged my sister 130 for a full highlight color and cut!!! Shouldn’t a partial be less??? A joke of a salon especially for Southlake!!!

I got a HEINOUS haircut at another establishment and have been growing out my hair for 15… count ‘em…15 months. I was, I think, justifiably concerned about finding another salon and trusting my hair to someone else. I needn’t have worried. I went in with clean hair, well below my shoulder blades and sat down with Kelly. She immediately started studying my hair and asking GOOD questions. Since my hair was very clean, we both agreed that a wash wasn’t necessary. She wet the back of my head and cut away about 4 inches of less than lovely, grown out ends… finally getting my hair back to one length, and assuring me that now all of my hair was as long as my shortest layer had been…15 months ago. After a blow dry, she dry cut my bangs and some lower jaw line framing angles. She happily went back in and cut the angles a bit more after we discussed blending and all that fun stuff. I ended up with a WONDERFUL cut, great looking hair, and a big smile. I had pedicure and manicure as well. My manicurist was very sweet and did a good job on my pedi. The mani was soothing and just okay. Paint job was a little messy, but I’m not going to complain since the job I do on my own leaves me with polish on my knuckles and enough used up cotton balls to stock a small salon. Another BIG plus. I’m in a wheelchair and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Stylists chairs were moved and I was able to stay in my chair for my haircut. My manicurist tactfully left the room as my husband and I made the transfer from wheelchair to the pedicure chair, which for me is painful and embarrassing, but worth it for the soaking tub. She was extremely gentle when moving my feet and legs and concerned with my comfort at all times. I’m not a big fan of some Southlake establishments, since the folks can be pretty snotty at times. That was NOT the case here. They could not have been nicer, and I will happily go back.

Wow… where to start?! This was a terrible experience! I went for a renewal mani/pedi and added the parrafin wax, hot stone massage, and foot mask. The woman they put me with was very sweet but her work is of very poor quality. When she was clipping the dead cuticles on both my feet and hands, she left a lot of skin! The Vietnamese women at the other salons do such a great job of clearing all that dead skin, leaving your nails looking so fresh and clean… like brand new hands and feet! And, of course, since there was so much leftover skin, the nail polish looked terrible because it inevitably got on the cuticle. And her paint strokes were very erratic… all over the place! When it dried, you could see all the uneven strokes! And the edges of the paint at the cuticle was all jagged and the paint also got in between the nail and skin on the side… it was as if a little kids painted my nails. Then came the hot stone massage… which ended up being more like the luke-warm stone massage. The hot stone massage is probably my favorite thing to add on to a pedicure for me! So I was so disappointed when these stones ended up being maybe a little warmer than room temperature. And then when she used them, it was like she hadn’t been properly trained on how to really massage with the stones. It was very weak. Again, the Vietnamese women take it seriously… it’s like an art form to them and they are very skilled with it. Then when I got the paraffin wax on my feet, she took my first foot out too soon. The wax hadn’t cooled around my foot yet so when she took my foot out, it left gooey wax all over my toes. Now moving on to manicure time. She took me to the other room to do my nails and there was this other manicurist sitting in there at her station by herself… waiting on her next appointment I suppose. Me and my nail lady were discussing the Olympics and the other manicurist was bored and looking at youtube videos. She then proceeds to walk over to us to show us a video of a bird feeding a dog treats. Yes, it was a cute video… but is that very professional?! This is the Hilton in Southlake, mind you! I should be feeling like a queen while in this establishment! But, wait… it gets much worse. While my nails were drying under the uv lamps, that women comes back over to me to show me yet another youtube video… only this time it was a video of a woman running into her office, shutting the door behind her, and letting out this long, drawn-out fart!!! OMG. are you kidding me??? Let me remind you all… this is the Hilton Southlake spa for crying outloud!!! As you can imagine, I was utterly horrified!!! Where is the class in this place?!? I acted slightly amused and got up, rinsed off my hands, and got out of there as quickly as possible! I’ve been to little hole-in-the-wall nail salons that had exponentially more class AND had much higher quality work than this place. And for a fraction of the price, no less! This was a shocking experience. I expected so much more from a Hilton spa… and especially the one in Southlake. Do not darken the doorstep at this place. Consider yourself warned.

I’m 50 years old & at times I feel it, let me tell you! But when I go in the the Terrace Retreat and see Amie Lutteringer there with her smiling face! I know I’m in good hands! She takes such good care of me! She aids me in getting rid of my unwanted«Natural Highlights»(^_-) She is one of the few hair stylists who will truly listen to what you don’t like, what you do like and cut just a bit longer than she thinks you want so as to not make any mistakes. After visiting Amie for a few years now I can walk in and say«go ahead, what ever you want, you can play!». She remembers the don’ts and presses the new so I have to stretch a bit. Thats ok! When I leave her I don’t feel 50 anymore… I fee more like 30! Look for Amie Lutteringer!

I have long, thick asian hair that has no shape. It’s pretty, but it looks too heavy and thick at the bottom. For the last 6 months I’ve been trying to find someone who could give me the popular asian hairstyles seen in Tokyo and Taiwan. It is near impossible to find someone who truly understands asian hair and texture. I read about Sandy and thought she could have some potential. I knew she was going to be more than I normally pay, but I am willing to pay the price in order to get a great style. When we met, she sat down and patiently listened to what I had to say. We talked about my hair routine, products to try, hair care, etc. I showed her pictures and she seemed very confident that I too can look as sassy as the girls in the pictures. She cut my hair in a method I have never seen done on my hair. Instead of the typical straight across, she started snipping vertically. It seemed irratic and I started to get nervous when I saw how much hair was falling to the floor. After she finished the ends, she washed my hair and started on the hair by my face. She did the same thing to the layers around my face and I saw the pieces getting shorter and shorter around my face. I kept reminding myself«it will grow back, it will grow back». She proceeded to blowdry my hair and I kept thinking my hair is so frizzly, this is going to turn out very very bad. When she put the blow dryer down, she told me to style my hair however I wanted. I looked in the mirror and brushed my hair into my «if all else fails» position. I looked, then looked again. The reflection I saw knocked my socks off! My hair was long, layered, and very sassy! I was so shocked to see my hair had some shape and movement to it. It was sleek, it was cute, it was sexy, it was ME! I love Sandy and I think I’m hooked!
