I eat lunch here 3 to 5 times a week, so that says a lot. Sometimes the specials and soup are a bit kooky, but usually tasty. $ 8 hot or cold sandwich specials are the best deal in town, and the salad bar too!

Excellent service. Waitress was very attentive. Had the NY Strip with asparagus and it was delicious.

It would be easy to rate Tango’s two stars, IF it were just a regular restaurant, but it isn’t, it is a hotel restaurant. So I had dinner here while staying at the Westin out of total convenience, not knowing the area, being late, and not wanting to venture out in BFE Southfield, MI. Yeah the trout was dry, yeah the salmon was also a little overcooked, but the cocktails were good and the service was really friendly, and you know that smiling waitstaff covers a lot of warts… Would I eat here again? Heck yeah, under the same circumstances. Of course with a bit more planning and a car, Prime29 Steakhouse is not that far… :D

This review is specifically for the restaurant. Don’t get the breakfast buffet. It’s $ 17 and the food is horrible. Our waitress didn’t come back for a half hour after dropping off our waters, came back with our bills, and then was gone for another 20 minutes even though we were pulling our our cards as she was putting the bills on the table. Never again.

I ate here twice while staying at the hotel for business. First was breakfast. They offered fruit, sausage, bacon, eggs, and made to order omelets as well as basic cereals. My bill was around $ 20! There went a good chunk of my meal budget at the first part of the day. Second was dinner. I ordered and was brought something different than I ordered. When I let the server know I was told that this was better and they left. So I am guessing the special was not good? Still pricy for what I ordered but it tasted good.

Where are the damn mini burgers? The saving grace of this place is two men: Jers and Slappy. Sure, largely, the service sucks and they took away the best thing on their menu: the mini burgers, but if you’re lucky enough to get Jers or Slappy to serve you, you’ll for sure get custom dippin’ sauces and automatic wine refills. Sure, they go missing when it’s bill time, but that’s Southfield. Sure, it smells like a movie theater and there are fruit flies everywhere– think of it as a picnic… put a napkin on your wine and shut your mouth. It’s really sad but it’s the best we have in Southfield. So let’s embrace it.

Horrible service. Salad is clearly not washed before served, with mud and dirt still on the kale leaf. Hope I won’t get sick!

This place could be great, but with outrageously high prices, meh food, and terrible service it only warrants two stars. There are serious cleanliness issues, as well. I’ve been a few times and for some reason have gone back despite some huge red flags so here’s the rundown: hair in food, gross dirty beverage glasses with lipstick marks, shard of wood in the soup, and dropping menus on the floor then picking it up and setting the side that hit the floor on top of the napkin. The waitress we seem to always get clearly has no interest in providing even mediocre service and we have always needed to go look for her to get a water refill, get our check, pay our check, get a take out box, etc. The resturant is adjacent to a nice hotel, in a nice business complex, yet almost always empty when we go at lunch time(and often on Fridays) so I guess the word is out that it’s not worth the very short trip to get there. Even the atrium area café is significantly more busy on any given day, and the prices there aren’t all that much cheaper(thanks for the clean food, atrium café!).

I can’t complain like others. I love their crab cakes! Small, but tasty. I think it’s a nice place to chill and/or hang with your friends, significant other, etc. I love when the waitstaff gives you their honest opinion…“are you sure you want to order that!?”. LOL. I’ve only had the crab cakes, so that’s all I can give my two cents on.

Hotel food cannot be measured against a detached restaurant’s standards. Most of the time, eating here is a result of having no other option. Like today for example; I left the office at 9pm, didn’t feel like looking for a place to eat and didn’t want to eat healthy at that time of night. I literally looked at the menu for such a long period of time that the waitress had come by about four times asking if we were ready. It was that bad; everything was fried. But after seeing our intense hesitation, she offered the dinner menu and boy what a sigh of relief I felt. It did still take me a while to decide as the food is typically American. I settled for the Ahi Tuna with a side of Michigan Potato Chive Mash and Vegetables. To fool you that indeed Tango’s is comparable to a «real» restaurant, they make you wait quite a while for you food. Upon first bite, I thought«great I knew this seared tuna would be overcooked» but it was just that they cooked the outer layer in a way where it was kind of tough. I was pleasantly surprised to find that asparagus made up my vegetables and not some steamed squash and carrots(cooked carrots take some getting used to). But the real treat was the mash. Containing probably an entire stick of butter and some cream, it was smooth all the way. I’m going to go ahead and say the obvious that I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here or eat here unless it was expensed. All you see are busy businessmen dining here or for some, everyday life for which makes for a great movie plot(Up in the Air).

Horrendous. I had the parmesan chicken with penne pasta. The pasta was probably the worst I’ve had in five years. It was boiled to the point of mush – probably five minutes past al dente. The flavor was oily and gross. The chicken with crusted cheese melted-on was not inedible, but it was below average for the price point. Service was incompetent.
