Delicious food. Everything is made fresh so expect a few extra minutes to eat, but it’s amazing!

Excellent food, friendly staff, nice ambiance makes for a wonderful dining experience. The staff bends over backwards to accommodate. The great thing is breakfast is served from opening to close. No ridiculous long lines. There’s a line but it’s not annoyingly long. Highly recommended

I have been to the Southfield Pancake House several times however, I will not be returning. I first saw it on Tasty Tuesdays and went to support a black owned business It was very disorganized and the servers were acting in an unprofessional manner. I gave it several other chances and the kitchen in slow and the food is is consistent. The best thing about the place is a server named Michelle who I’d always kind and effecient. The owner Greg nor his wife are very personable. They have a daily special for 6 bucks but I wouldn’t be spending more than that. Today when I asked that my pancakes be prepared a certain way, they wanted to give me am up charge at which time I told them I would not be returning. I would not recommend this restaurant.

WARNING! This place is NOT Dimitri’s Pancake House anymore, and does not even come close. Dimitri’s was delicious with generous portions, reasonably priced, had an amazing selection, and was always busy. «Southfield Pancake House» cost me $ 25 for two run-of-the-mill pancake breakfasts with three strips of bacon and coffee($ 2 for a cup of passable coffee, really??). Both included fruit topping that was advertised on their very small and unimaginative menu as being $ 1 extra, but magically became $ 1.50 extra when we got the bill. My pineapple«topping» was literally just some cold-ass pineapple chunks straight out of the can that made my top pancake cold and soggy. it was a long wait for our food even though the place was practically empty at 10:00 on a Saturday morning(red flag!); a gentleman walked in fifteen or so minutes after we ordered sat behind us and had his pancakes in no time(and before we did), and from our seat we could see one of our orders sitting in the kitchen getting cold. this was one of those times i wish i’d kept my ass at home and cooked a four-star homemade breakfast for $ 25. they get one star for our waitress who was friendly and attentive, but that’s it. complete ripoff and i will not be back. i give them two more months tops before they close down.

First time being there since it changed from Dimitri’s. Just not good. Was really hoping to like it but for the prices and how long it took to get the food it was mediocre at best. Surprised it took as long as it did, it wasn’t that busy. The Bacon seemed like pre cooked microwaved bacon. The biscuits from the biscuits and gravy also seemed pre made and microwaved. We got our food but never got silverware. The waitress had a pen leak in her apron so our straw wrappers had blue ink on them, fine as it didn’t leak through to the straw itself but the really sad thing was that when our food did show up there was blue ink fingerprints on our plates. Really should have changed the apron. Just not a great experience and the food was just not great

Stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was my first(and most likely last) experience. My order was simple: two pancakes, bacon, hash browns, and hot tea. Even though hot tea was on the menu my waitress said it was unavailable so I opted for water. The pancakes were the best thing about the meal, and even those were too thick for my liking. The bacon was thin, flavorless, and greasy. The hash browns were soggy and dark; not burned, just dark, as though they were prepared on a griddle that needed to be cleaned. While I removed the remaining grease from my bacon using a napkin, nothing could be done about the hash browns so I didn’t eat them. When the waitress asked how my meal was, I expressed my disappointment with the hash browns.(She recommended them by the way.) She offered to bring me something else. It was a nice gesture but I was worried that whatever else I ordered would be just as bad so I passed on the offer. When making her rounds, the manager eventually came over to inquire about our meal and experience. I also told her that I didn’t enjoy hash browns and therefore did not eat them. She apologized but that was it. I expected that one of the ladies would remove the item from my bill but I guess I expected too much. While the staff was nice, they seem to be lacking in the customer service department. This, coupled with the terrible food, is reason enough for me to not return.

I stopped and ordered the chicken fajita omelette. There wasn’t much chicken in it. It was only okay. I will not order an omelette here again. The waitress was kind and greeted me with a smile. Excellent service but the food needs some work.

I came here with my mom and my 7-month-old daughter after my mom heard about the restaurant on the news. We’re so glad we came! The waitresses were so accommodating and sweet with my baby, and were very attentive to my mom and me. I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup while we were there. I ordered catfish and grits, and loved it. I’ve been craving fried catfish for months, and this was hands down the best catfish I’ve had in a very long time — really well seasoned with a crispy golden batter. The grits came smothered in gravy and cheese, and were delicious. My mom and I also got pancakes(hey, we like to eat, ok?) and those were also very good. I know my mom was also very happy with her salmon omelette and crispy hashbrowns. We’ll definitely return here next time I visit Michigan!

I thought I was going to Dimitri’s but apparently it closed. I was with my autistic son who demanded we eat here!. In advance I’m kinda picky and I was expecting the worse. I enjoyed my meal today, I had the corn beef skillet and it was good. The staff was very nice to my son and I always appreciate kindness when it’s bestowed upon him. My only recommendation is that they work in plating the food a bit better.

Food wasn’t awful but certainly not the best breakfast ever. I was excited to come since it was featured on tasty tuesday news segment. I had salmon skillet, which I think had like 3 pieces of salmon in it… and it wasn’t as flavorable as they made it seem on the news. We waited about 30 mins before they took order, and then came back 15 minutes later to advise they were out of steak. The manager was rude when we asked why is it taking so long for our food to come out(another 30 minutes). Definitely not worth the drive. Better restaurants on my side of town.

Went here for a business meeting. Ordered the Chicken fajita omelette, pancakes and fresh fruit. Pancakes were good. Omelette was fair, nothing amazing at all about it. The salsa was super salty. Like they added salt and pepper to it. The fruit was okay. Pineapple and grapes were good. Strawberries were super sour and didn’t seem ripe.

Don’t Go here!! unprofessional service and the food is not good. The WAITRESS put in the wrong order for the omelette we ordered and they would not take it back even after she said it was her fault. I asked to talk to the manager just so we could get the right omelette and she tells me he is busy and can’t come out. Pancakes were thick Bacon dripping with grease on my plate. Not to mention when I asked one of the three waitresses that came over to my table asking did someone take my order yet, for a cup of hot water she brought me a tall glass of steaming hot water that I couldn’t even hold instead of putting it in a mug, Who does that!!! I will not be returning to this place ever And will steer anyone I know away.
