Holden Thomasson & Longfellow

Never go here. I signed up for a Unilocal account specifically so I could tell you not to use these guys, my wife and I had an awful experience. Normally I use H&R Block and my wife uses Turbo Tax but as it was our first time filing jointly we wanted to have a real accountant do our taxes. Specifically we wanted someone to tell us about the process (itemized etc) and what we could do better for the following tax period. When we went to Holden, Thomasson & Longfellow we sat down with the accountant and specifically told him what we wanted; the personal experience, an explanation of our taxes, and recommendations for the future. He was seemingly understanding and told us he would be all set to talk to us when we returned to pick up our taxes. When we got the call for our «appointment» to pick up our taxes it was surprising when we arrived on the hour only to find that the only appointment we had was with the secretary who informed us what we owed, that the accountant didn’t have time for us then, and who then passed over a folder with our finished tax information. Disappointing in the sense that in that it wasn’t what we wanted but hey, maybe that was normal accountant behavior. We resolved to go back to using H&R Block. Fast forward to the next tax season, on a whim I took last years taxes in to H&R Block to see if they could find more money… Did they ever. Turns out that not only did Holden, Thomasson & Longfellow not itemize our taxes the way that we specifically asked them to, but they also somehow left off the $ 2500.00 we contributed to charity. Nice surprise for this year in that we got more than expected, absolutely horrible experience overall. I’d rather have a monkey do my taxes then step foot back in that office.
