Newks

Our first experience at Newk’s, passing through Southaven, MS. The salads were very good and the four cheese Mac & cheese was delicious! The veggie pizza was great and our daughter enjoyed her grilled cheese sandwich. Will definitely go to a Newk’s again.

What a let down. I’ve been to the other Newks several times and fell in love with their chicken salad. This one is no where’s near as inviting, friendly or clean, and the chicken salad was dry, with a totally different flavor.
Even though I stay close to hear when in town, I’ll go to the other one (Goodman I think).
Definitely won’t be back here. Didn’t think there would be this much difference between two locations that are so close.
The only thing that saved a second star.. the guy who took my order recommended the white BBQ chicken sandwich. It was actually very tasty. I’ll be throwing away almost my full half of the chicken salad

OK… new Unilocal friend recommended the NewksQ pizza. Under the weather today, and needed something close to the hotel. Very yummy. Up to 3 stars. thanks Andrea G

I have driven by this place several times but never stopped. I think it is a chain restaurant but don’t know for sure. Had the royal sandwich with bacon Mac&Cheese. The sandwich was warm and toasty. It was a bit light on meat and veggies but tasted good. The Mac&Cheese is what made the meal. Piping hot with lots of cheese and bacon. I almost licked the bowl.

I confess that I’ve only had the Black & Bleu Salad here but it sure brings me back! The thing is HUGE. Certainly enough to share. I also like that they have tea with Splenda and it’s not very sweet!

Nice discovery. Apparently a southern chain, but a good one. I had a chicken pesto sandwich which was awesome.

$ 10 for a salad $ 10 for a sandwich. Now I remember why I’ve literally walked in here twice and walked out. But today I said ‘why not?’ I ordered some spicy chicken pizza. The chicken was so dry it resembled jerky. I ended up taking it off and then the pizza was better. Was it worth my $ 10, no way. Maybe would have paid $ 8. I guess ill come back when im feeling rich and give the salads a try.

Traveling from Indiana to Texas, we stopped south of Memphis to sleep. We wanted to pick up a quick meal and take it to the hotel. This was the perfect place for that. They had a quick to go section. So convent and the soup and sandwiches we picked up were great. The place looked very nice inside and the guy who helped us was very helpful. When we told him we were going back to a hotel room, he fixes us up with plates, utensils, etc.

Today was the first time to try this Newk’s location and it’s just as good as the one on off Getwell. They have many good menu items, but I always get the Newk’s Q sandwich. I’m a sauce person and that white BBQ sauce that they put on there really makes the sandwich. The lobster and crab bisque is pretty good too but I think they only have it on Tuesdays and Sundays. Newk’s also has some of the best pimento cheese around.

The Mac n cheese with bacon is outstanding. Generous portion too and very rich taste. Seems to have an expansive menu including sandwiches and pizza. The atmosphere is relaxing and the outdoor shaded patio is especially enjoyable. Great spot for lunch.

Items we love are the pimento & bacon mac’n cheese (made in house), chicken salad, every soup they make, and the peanut butter rice crispy treat. Salad dressings made from scratch and free breadsticks– it’s awesome!
Clean, bright and cheerful! Can’t wait to go back! :)
