One of my favorite places to eat in Southaven. We always get the make your own rice type meal. The ingredients(except the imitation crab) are always fresh and only once has service not been fast and courteous. Drinks are pretty good as well.

I have been to this place one time and I am in love. The atmosphere is a little fancier than I expected but perfect for a night out with friends. The service was extremely friendly and the food was divine. We started with drinks, walk-me-downs. This is not for the faint of heart as it was delicious but very strong, a good way for us to start the night. For food, two of us split a superman roll and it was, hands down, the best sushi roll I have had in Southaven. All of us got the Mongolian grill bowls, which are the bread and butter here. You basically pick from all the raw meats and veggies you could possibly have in a stir fry and then they fry it up to perfection with rice or noodles. It was so satisfying and enough to save leftovers for lunch the next day. I will definitely be back here the next chance I get. 5 stars.

My wife and I really enjoy this place. Sadly we don’t have access to BD’s Mongolian Grill anymore since moving here from up north, but this place has been a decent substitute. BD’s was more of an all-you-can eat concept, and more interactive as you would stand around the grill watching the cooks prepare your food. At Kublai Khan, you bring your raw ingredients to the grill, and then go back to your table. The grill cooks give you a numbers to take back to your seat, and your waiter will bring your food to your table when they are done cooking it. I do believe Kublai Khan offers an all-you-can-eat option, however, you probably never need it if you opt to have your stir-fry bowl made with the included noodles or rice. I always get Udon noodles with my bowl, and it fills you up! No need for all-you-can-eat! If you do go for an all-you-can-eat option, I would strongly suggest not putting noodles with your bowl creations. This place surprisingly has really good sushi too. We always get the Superman Roll, and it has awesome flavor and texture. Sometimes the service here can be a little inattentive, but it’s never really been bad. The lunch prices are a few dollars cheaper than dinner, and they put out all of the same meats/seafoods that they have for dinner. Overall great place!

We went to this place for Sunday lunch and were seated immediately. Our waiter was very friendly and prompt. I have mixed feelings about our experience, so I’m just going to list the pros and cons: PROS Lengthy menu with many options Miso soup is excellent CONS Lengthy menu is actually confusing Shadowy atmosphere with loud music Our entrees were well made, but flavors were plain Sushi was average

Excellent meal in a very clean and well maintained facility. You have the option of sushi, creating your own Mongolian barbeque or selecting one of the many options for bowls on their recipe. Our family opted to create our own bowls — and they were absolutely delicious. If you screw something up in your own creation — I suppose it is your own fault. But the meal was filling and delicious and the customer service was above average. We will return!

We were a table of 10! Everyone had the bowl. It was delicious! Never tried one of these before, did not wait long for anything. Had some appetizers even. Everyone left stuffed. It was very delicious!

Dreadful… I was hoping this place would live up to its namesake. I’m a big fan of the khan… I am a vegetarian, so there weren’t any other options in the area, save a Thai place. I’ve eaten Thai every night for a week almost, so I needed something different. Anyway, the ingredients were mediocre. I am used to high quality food. This was not that…

Overall an excellent mongolian grill experience with additional items on the menu for those not into the whole«build it and let them grill it» experience. Fast service, and some very interesting toppings that one can add. FYI: For those who typically like eating a lot of food — it is not necessary to buy a second or unlimited bowls unless you want to be able to make different combinations. Otherwise one bowl is big enough!

I ordered take out from here before and it was so-so, however I came in with a friend recently and was super impressed with the décor and the sushi. It looks like a high-end Mongolian Grill. My friend still insists it’s not her favorite place for sushi but I still enjoyed it. They have a large selection here and I would love to come back and try some more! When I got takeout I got the Shanghai Noodle Bowl with Chicken. It tasted better once I doused it with the sauce(soy sauce?) that came with it. Otherwise it was very bland. I also added chili flakes to it to help spice it up for myself. GoWaiter delivered if that time. When I came with my friend we got just sushi. I tried a number of things but my favorite was the Crunchy Shrimp(#16 specifically– they have two Crunchy Shrimps). I also particularly enjoyed the Fried Crawfish and realized I liked crawfish for the first time. At least I enjoyed it in this particular sushi. I will have to try it in other things to see if I actually like it. The Redbirds was also good though it had a much more subtle flavor than the others. The Seafood Lovers was interesting. Half of it was fried and the other half was not. The fried half was my favorite whereas the non-fried was my friend’s favorite. I’m not sure I would get it again. I was completely unimpressed with the Spicy Shrimp which was basically shrimp sushi with some sort of «hot» sauce drizzled over there. Loved: — Coconut Shrimp Roll — Crunchy Shrimp Roll — Fried Crawfish Roll — Redbird Roll Ok: — Seafood Lovers Roll — Shanghai Noodle Bowl with Chicken(better with sauce and chili flakes) Disliked: — Spicy Shrimp Roll

Quite a wait for a table for 4. There is a bar, but no one serving drinks to those waiting.(What a missed opportunity!). We all got stir fry along with some calimari and a California roll. The stir fry is good if you know the flavors you like otherwise it might be best to try the recipes provided. The calimari was a hit and the roll was fine. Service was OK for the small amount necessary

I’ve been here several times before but this is the second time I’ve experienced great customer service. I always get a bowl; it’s great. This time I’m trying volcano roll sushi! Wish me luck Overall great place to come eat. Not too pricey and they give you a LOT of food, I can usually eat on my bowl for 2 or 3 sittings. Best part is, you can put barely anything in your bowl or pile it high and you pay the same price!

On my third time to this restaurant, I ordered the same sweet and sour chicken I ordered the first time I came here. It didn’t taste the same. Had too much green paper. And the sauce tasted differently. My first and second time review would have been 5 star but it reserves a 3 star for inconsistency!!!

I’ll give them a five, although today’s experience was probably a three, due to my son’s terrible twos. I ordered the dinner bowl and a Spicy Shrimp Sushi Roll. I am kind of new to the sushi game, so I wanted to try something not too intimidating. For $ 4.25 I was not displeased, it was good and kind of filling for a large man. I couldn’t get the rest of the family to brave it out with me. Next time I may just order sushi instead of the bowl. The bowl was good, it better be, I’m the one that concocted it. However, I like trying new things. Our waiter was very pleasing and prompt with our service, which is nice when you’ve got a child going crazy. The only thing that calmed him down was the fish tank.

I’m so glad we found Kublai Khan. I love mongolian stir fry, and my girlfriend is a sushi fanatic(I’m on the fence…). This place is perfect for us! On top of the convenience of having these two types of food, its all very good!

Placed an order from the grill of one of their specialty dishes, allowing them to fix it. I asked the waiter to have them not to make it spicy. It came back with all the peppers they could find, very hot. I asked them to remake it and the waiter came back with attitude that they don’t know how to make it not spicy and I needed to do it choose the items myself. My whole reason for them choosing to the option of allowing them to do it. So I had to go choose items, which I wasn’t familiar with, a language barrier with the cooks, needless to say I was not happy. After all of that it a very long time to get my lunch and I had to get it to go. When I opened up at work, it was a hot mess. Bad overall experience.
