Best Lobster in Southhampton & New York Large Huge Chunks. Tail meat only, fresh not frozen lobster like most other places. Served with mayonnaise so slight that you hardly notice. Lobster is ice cold perfection and on a grilled Bun. Impeccable ~ Owner Garrett Wellins takes pride in every aspect of this restaurant. Hands on owner means nothing is overlooked. Attention to detail, taste and operation runs smoothly and food is beyond delicious as a result. Garlic Bread and Borscht are both amazing. Borscht has chunks of brisket and bone broth to make it a perfect old school classic borscht. Served with sour cream of course. Watch out, garlic bread is crispy warm french bread served in a bowl of warm garlic butter. Heaven. Try the homemade lemon tarte with Chantilly Cream and Raspberry coulis Such a pleasure to experience what true dining should be, and what caring owners create! Brava!!!

I’d like to be connected to this restaurant, but I only come once a year early off season to live it up. I love everything about the décor: the tile floor, the wooden bar, and the wonderful paintings by the owner’s mother hanging on the walls. I love the lobster rolls, and the Linzer cookies, and the borscht, and the beautiful staff, some of whose features are recognizable in the charming owner. Have never had a disappointing meal here. It’s an experience we look forward to every year.
First let me preface this with the fact that I have never reviewed any restaurant nor had the notion or cause to. I have however, reviewed positively a number of hotels I have stayed at as I have travelled widely. Yesterday, my friends and I were looking forward to start our day by having lunch in South Hampton. We walked into Silver’s Restaurant and were seated. We informed the waiter that we did not have a lot of time for lunch and needed to eat quickly. We ordered and had to wait quite a long time and when I asked the waiter about our food he said, «it was written on the menu that one of the dishes took a longer time.» He was rude, insolent and inappropriate and far from what a waiter should be. If that wasn’t enough, I asked to speak with the manager or owner who I might add, physically resembled our waiter. He came out from the kitchen with a nasty attitude and aggressively pushed his way into my face and demanded to know what happened. He attempted to bully me and my guests and I would not speak to him with his hostile and aggressive stance. One of my friends attempted to explain how we were treated by the waiter, to no avail. I must add, that the people at the next table were aghast at his behavior as well. He was both condescending and antagonistic and not at all what an owner should be. When I called the next day to get his name, I was refused. The owner was very unprofessional to say the least and I would avoid this restaurant. The only reason I gave this 1 star as one cannot write a review with zero stars as there is no mechanism for that RG

Really delicious food. Old school family owned. All in the plus category but let’s cut to the chase. The prices are OBSCENE!!! Even for Los Angeles, NYC, Tokyo for Gods sake a $ 48.00 lobster roll. Hahahahahaha

We came through the south hamptons on vacation to experience a good lobster roll and came across this place. The food was good but the prices were insane for just sandwhiches and soup. The one star is mostly for the service. It was the worst I’ve ever had. We waited forever for anyone to get our order and it seemed that if you weren’t anyone special or a local then you got served last. Never coming back and this restaraunt made our Hampton experience horrible.

Hands down the best lunch in all the Hamptons. The owner does all the food selection and cooking himself and is the third generation to own the business. The crowd always included the rich, powerful and famous. A great place at every level.

We arrived late. There were no customers. The food was not great. The service really poor. They took forever to even bring the salt

It’s hard to get excited about sandwiches, but that’s what Silver’s does. My husband ordered the BLT, which he says is the best he has ever had, and I had the Roman, one of the tastiest sandwiches I’ve had. I wasn’t super hungry but felt the need to eat this massive sandwich. We were able to sit right in front of the window in a cozy nook. Staff was attentive. Only downside to this place is it’s very pricey — knock down the prices a bit and this place would be a hit!

WAY over priced. $ 30 for a salad? Please. The food is fine, just not worth it for the price or ambiance.

Love this place but the prices are through the freaking roof! BLT is now $ 21 bucks. A lobster roll sandwich is $ 48 bucks. Great food but they are just too darn expensive. Better food at better prices not to far away. Good luck Silver’s. Love you guys, anyway!

This place had decent food however the waitstaff was by far the worst I have ever experienced. We waited 15 minutes for menus, asked for water too many times to count and got two bottles, asked for steak sauce and the guy left and never came back when we flagged him down he said oh we don’t have any. They were grumpy and snotty and overall not who you want serving you food. If the service was better we would say check it out, but I don’t think I can recommend such an establishment with such appalling service. FYI they say they close at 4, but won’t seat you past 3:30, and most of the staff leaves at 4 on the dot, not the way to run a restaurant if you ask me.

One of the best lunches I’ve ever had in Long Island. Period. My suggestion is to get there for a late lunch just before they close, in the 1pm to 1:30pm time slot. The place isn’t big and is very popular, so I can imagine long waits during peak hours. If you love fresh, thick chunks of lobster meat in a creamy(but not heavy) flavorful soup, then the lobster bisque is for you my friend. Slop it up with their baguette, which is brushed with olive oil, garlic, parsley and sea salt. One bowl is enough for an entire meal. Is your mouth watering yet? Dessert? Of course. While the pecan tart looked small, two of us had a hard time finishing it. It was accompanied with a very rich caramel sauce, whole pecans and big dollop of fresh whipped cream on the side. Stop drooling on your keyboard. It’s hard to clean saliva from in between the keys. Service was extremely attentive during our visit. Prices are steep, but you get what you pay for — which is excellent food. PS — It rolls old school in here, so no cell phones. You’ll just have to make your friends jealous later with a Unilocal review.

My favorite lunch anywhere is Clam Chowder and a BLT at Silvers. My wife loves their Crabcakes. We are always treated nicely by the staff and the owner comes over to say hello. If I have to wait on line sometimes, it is a small price to pay for the great food.

The food wasn’t half bad and some of it was tasty I’ll admit… However, the service was unbelievably bad. We waited 45 minutes between apps and mains and when we inquired on the ETA we were told that«lamb burgers take a long time.» I don’t know about you but I think I could slaughter a lamb, grind it up, and grill it in 45 minutes. In any case, that would have been passed over had it not been for the management mishandling of our complaint. The waitress at first refused to get the manager, and once the manager did come over, he was totally unapologetic and said«Well, you have your food now. So it’s fine. Everything is fine, right?» *MAYJAH attitude* The table next to us never got their lamb burger. They paid and left exasperated. And it’s overpriced.

I probably would give this place a one star, but the food was decent(after the chef begrudgingly sent us a new duck confit). I came to Silver’s during a thanksgiving weekend shopping day with two others that have been to this restaurant many times before. One of my friends ordered the duck confit salad(her favorite dish here). The other ordered soup and I got the BLT. Things were looking good, the soup was good(can’t remember what was ordered) and the BLT was… well a BLT, nothing special. The duck was overcooked. We sent it back(it is 30 dollars, so the meat should fall off the bone, like duck is meant to, right?). I will cut to the chase, after dealing with a completely incompetent waiter(either it was his first day or he was«slow») the chef came out and personally made sure that my friend felt like she didn’t know a thing about duck, food or manners and that she should be happy with what she got. She explained(very nicely) to the chef that she has been to Silvers many times, always orders the duck confit salad and has never had a problem with it… and for those reasons, she would like a new one. He begrudgingly cooked a new one… which took an extraordinarily long time… While we waiting, the chef came to out table two more times to insult my friend very underhandedly. I hope he was just having a bad day, but I have never felt this bullied since I was in the 5th grade. I have heard the food was good, but sir, take care to not treat people with such disrespect. You lost a few good customers and their entire family… black card in tow.

We were the only party there for the first half of our meal at 11 am. Bad: The bread was way too salty even without the oil underneath. Good: Service was great and friendly. Bad: Menu is very expensive Good: The options look worthy of such a price(it depends though — $ 34 for lobster roll, $ 39 for lobster cobb). SO had the sirloin burger. The bun under eventually got soggy from the salad it was placed on, but it was still all delicious when eaten with a fork and knife. Bad: My lobster bisque had anything but chunks of lobster. Yes, there was lobster, but I think six sips took care of them. It was a little watery, too. Still tasty. Good: It’s close to a lot of shops, galleries and other things to do, so if you happen to be walking with a thick wallet and hungry on Main Street, it’s still a great choice.
