Red Bar Brasserie

Out with the wife, & not disappointed. A little loud but the place was packed. Our reservations were right on & ready when we arrived. Staff was excellent, and the food was excellent as well. Will definitely be going back again.

Went to Red Bar with my boyfriend and shared a delicious dinner. He had been to Red Bar several times before, and suggested that we go here since we were visiting South Hampton. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting South Hampton!

Love it! Shrimp pasta, branzino and filet mignon were amazing. Everyone is very friendly…

We had the Tuna tartar for starters and it was so fresh and tasty. The chef really knows what he is doing. All the food was amazing and fresh.
We ended the night with the best baked Alaska I’ve ever had!!!
Cant wait for next summer to enjoy again!!!

One of the great things about this place is the setting — the dining room is entirely surrounded by windows that create great light in the restaurant. There are also some characters working here, so be prepared for some back and forth with the waitstaff.
We started with the mesclun salad, which was very fresh and came with an excellent ginger vinaigrette. The spaghetti with sauteed shrimp had great flavor but was a tad oily. The truffled chicken breast was great — perfectly cooked, moist, and came on a bed of excellent risotto (and I’m not usually a fan of risotto).
You should definitely end with the Flourless Valrhona Chocolate Cake — this was dense and dark and met our high expectations for flourless chocolate cake. This place is a great option for a quality meal in Southampton.

If I could give this restaurant a worse score, I would. I don’t normally review-​for good or bad a place. But this was the worst service ever, we were screamed at by an extremely unprofessional manager upon entering the restaurant. He continued to accuse us and yelled at my friend for an e-​cigarette that my friend was merely holding in his hand. This friend of mine, has been a loyal patron to this restaurant for many years (perhaps a creature of habit), coming in to eat weekly during the summer. Stay away from this restaurant with the numerous better options that will treat customers professionally and service oriented. This restaurant is over-​priced, mediocre, and dimly lit for the management that you have to deal with.

My bf and I went there for dinner after a gorg day on the beach — and it was a perfect ending to a perfect day. He ordered the filet mignon, and I ordered the truffle chicken. His steak was very good, but we both absolutely fell in love with that chicken! It was tender, moist and had so much flavor! By far best chicken I’ve ever had (we told the maitre’d just that on our way out). Can’t wait to go back and try more of their dishes. I kept watching the servers walk by with other diners food and my mouth was watering b/​c everything looked soooo good. We didn’t have room for dessert, but damn those profiteroles looked yummy! Next time profiteroles, next time! :-)

Absolutely delicious food and a lovely experience at Red Bar Brasserie this weekend. We arrived a smidgen late for our 7pm reservation on Friday, July 17 — peak season in South Hampton. We were told we couldn’t sit outside and were lead to an indoor two-​top table. Next time, we’ll request it at the time of reservation. This didn’t adversely affect our dinner in the least.
The wine list was great. Red Bar pours Sancerre by the glass ($ 14), a classy move. My BF ordered a Negroni. They made it with Tanqueray and it was $ 13. They have other specialty cocktails and wines by the glass and bottle, all prices commensurate with the location and level of the establishment.
For appetizer, we ordered the best dish of be evening — a grilled calamari salad. Wow. The squid was grilled to perfection abed a crisp the salad with the perfect amount of acid. The dressing was so delicious, I mopped it with a warm dinner roll.
My entrée was comprised of a pork belly appetizer and an a la carte side of pommes frites. Pork belly is my favorite and this was cooked perfectly. It was a charred bacon steak that really melted in my mouth. It was a small portion with three small cubes of pork belly, but it was an appetizer. I shared the fries with my BF and I was really satisfied. The pour on my wine was a little short for my taste (shocker!). The service was polite but I would have liked a little more information.
He got the duck, which was the tastiest duck I’ve ever had in my life. It was perfectly cooked medium and served with a side of lentils and squash. The portion was appropriate for an entrée.
Regarding the prices for this place, this is a fine dining restaurant in the Hamptons. You’re paying for location but the food is quality. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town. Remember that if you want a table during peak season, you must make a reservation. We made one a month in advance and this place was packed.

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere for dinner. It is not that fancy, but good place for a date. The food is decent, but I had expected better.

What an amazing dinner. From the décor to the waiter to the food. All were wonderful. It was noisy on a Saturday night at 9pm and lucky for us we got to sit outside. Noise level was perfect. It was a beautiful summer night. The wine was really good. The pizza appetizer was so good we ordered a second one. I had the crackling pork shank. It was the best I’ve had. I’m a bit of a foodie. My husband had the truffle chicken another delight. We did not have room for desert although the menu looked great. I can’t wait till we are back in Southampton. We are coming back! The waiter also described the dishes and was very much into it. I appreciated that immensely. Overall an amazing experience.

Came here with my fiancé during MDW this year and made reservations for 9pm. The place believe it or not was packed but we were seated quickly as soon as we checked in. And so being that it was packed the parking was limited when I pulled up with my car. I parked in a back back lot which im not sure is theres.
The ambiance is beautiful with fresh flowers and very dim but well lit with candles type of room. Its the perfect date night and a few socialites can be seen here.
The food. we started with the prince edward island mussels and at first I noticed the portion was a little smaller and later on the waitress apologized for the portion and said it was on the house (I didn’t say a thing to her. this was solely on her). The other appetizer we had was the grilled salad which was delicious and had a very delicious and mildly spicy flavor to it. The entrée I had the filet mignon (10 or 12 oz cant remember) with a wine sauce and blue cheese melted on top over the mashed potatoes. the cut of the meat was very very good and cooked to perfection (rare-​med). My fiancé had the truffled chicken breast and she enjoyed it a lot as well. We finished the meal with a flowerless chocolate cake and espresso.

Excellent excellent excellent from service to the mussels, tile fish, kale salad, pasta with shrimp, red red wine, the ambience … You name it!!! Wish we had stayed for the dessert! When I come back to Southhampton I will be sure to visit this wonderful place again!!!

Being a vegetarian, I expected that I’d have to order yet another pasta dish or a few boring side dishes, but I was thrilled when they brought out the most incredible vegetarian platter ever! So delicious! Beet and honey crisp apple salad was superb! And my fiancé (a meat eater) loved his dinner as well! Can’t wait to make the trip back from Westchester!

Excellent food! Excellent! Great chill vibe — we loved our tuna tar tar, grilled calamari and arugula, and fluke entrée. Bartender was super cool and gave great recommendations. Go here! Why not if in the hamptons and looking for a solid American eatery.

Great food, great service. I have to go here early because the noise level is way too high for me. Been a go to place for many years now and the specials are always wonderful. I will continue to visit this establishment with early reservation time.

This is our go-​to spot in Southampton. Good for couples and smaller groups — the dining room gets loud so sit in the back area if that bothers you. The LI duck and the salmon are fantastic. All around good place.

Absolutely fantastic meal. I came with a large group and every one of us were impressed with the food, service and experience. Our waitress was wonderful and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. I had scallops over a bed of corn and vegetables and it was delicious, the scallops were perfectly cooked. The wine list was great and surprisingly reasonable
We skipped dessert which I regret but at no point did we feel rushed or hurried to finish. They had squeezed us in with a last minute reservation which was at 6pm– way too early for my liking but now I know to reserve in advance for next time

Southampton’s best.
We have been coming to Red Bar since they opened almost 20 years ago and have never been disappointed by the food or service: consistently the best. The only problem is what to choose on the menu. The fact that they have kept the same talented chef since the first night speaks for itself. Go! Now! (Reservations a must, esp during summer months.)

Came here for dinner, had a 9:30pm reservation, was only seated at 10. That’s the only negative thing I have to say about this place…
The food was amazing, the drinks were great. Ambiance is lovely. Very cozy very seductive very pleasant place to be.
Everything that I tasted was absolutely devine.
Very pleasant crowd and just an over all enjoyable experience. I will definitely come back here the next time I am in the Hamptons.

Great place. Friendly staff, good wine list, and delicious food. Definitely a go-​to for our group! Nice options for sharing… had the charcuterie and cheese plates, as well as the pork chop stuffed with chorizo and manchego for dinner. Everything was fantastic!
