I wish I knew of this place earlier, it’s the most authentic and probably the closest thing to affordable Mexican food I Southampton. This place was a short 5 min drive from the hospital and after a long shift this place transported me from a cold Southampton winter street to the warm and flavorful Mexico. Their burritos are huge and come with a choice of salsas. The dining area is small, by cozy. If you eat in you’ll be eating on paper plates and plastic utensils, but it’s the food that’s first class. Staff is friendly and restaurant is cleaning. Parking is easy too!

No frills, delicious and authentic. Only downside is there is minimal seating so plan to get your food to-go!

Stopped by for lunch while waiting for our check-in time at a local B&B. Delicious al pastor pork tacos and horchata(large order is a HUGE serving). Local blue collar workers come in here for a delicious and affordable meal. I can see why. It has flavors of home cooking and ample seasoning. There are only a few tables, but the service is good and the place is outdated but kept moderately clean.

This is a hidden little gem of a restaurant. Quite authentic Mexican food and you will see Hispanics/Latinos walking in and out of the restaurant to order. Cash only so make sure you bring some! There is street parking in front but also a lot in the back of the restaurant, which is available to the entire plaza. The restaurant itself is quite small; only has 6 tables with 2 seating four people and the other 4 seating only two. Takeout is probably the best option if it is busy. However the interior décor is quite cozy! Their taco salad, which was what I came for, was fabulous. There stuff the meat, rice, beans, salsa and veggies inside the super crispy taco shell. One of the best taco salads I’ve had in a while. Will definitely come back for their taco salad and to try more on the menu.

Cute little place! It’s very authentic and everyone eating in this place was latino, which was a ringing endorsement. For the price, you get a huge meal. The large horchata is massive! In any case, it’s cash only. 1. Plates: There are combo plates that allow you to have tacos and burritos or gorditas. You can choose the type of meat on all the items. The person working there recommended the pork, and she was right. It was delicious! 2. Taco salad: Freshly fried crispy bowl with plenty of ingredients inside. Lots of sour cream and avocado, which I love. Again, large portions so you will be FULL.

I literally cannot believe the(good) reviews others have given this place. I’m wondering if any of those people have actually eaten Mexican food?! The only thing I can honestly agree with everyone on is that the place is definitely a hole in the wall. And it ends at that. We were in the mood for Mexican and decided to go after reading the positive reviews here(Thankfully many mentioned cash only) and the fact it’s relatively close by to where we are. Walked in and thought«meh» but kept thinking«it will be worth it». Ordered a few fish(hard shell) tacos for myself … A veggie burrito for my boyfriend … And a side of rice. Got totally stoked driving home and couldn’t wait to dive in. Opened the bag to find a handful of tortilla chips basically thrown in all over our food(??) but STILL continued thinking«it will be worth it». It clearly was not. The best part of my chopped up fish stick tacos was the shells. Yes, you read that correctly. I genuinely had cut up frozen fish sticks in my taco. Seriously?! Although they *were* cooked, they were fish sticks. Like the Gortons kind they made in elementary school. There was also some cut up lettuce, tomatoes and bagged shredded cheese on each taco. Nothing else. Not only were they bland, they were cold, as was the side of rice … Which I failed to mention was probably a full one-cup serving. My boyfriend’s veggie burrito consisted of a hodge-podge of nothingness. He was asked if he wanted«the works» with hot sauce and was expecting a stellar burrito. The burrito was a mushy mess of pinto beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and white rice. Cold like everything else. He told me he could’ve gotten a better burrito at Denny’s. Completely disappointing. Didn’t even want to give one star but couldn’t post without choosing at least one.

I went here while me and some buddies were checking out SouthHampton Publick house. The chicken soft tacos were great and a reasonable price. I would definitely go here again when I’m out east

I’ve definitely tasted better tacos and burritos, but I guess for the Hamptons it’s not too bad. I had the chicken tacos once and I felt they were too dry. I’ve had the vegetarian burrito a few times and they are okay, though nothing really much to write about. But again, since it is the Hamptons, acceptable and I do crave their food

I just need to say how awesome this place is. Seriously I will drive 40 minutes to eat here and then 40 minutes home. I am moving and am so sad to say I think I just ate my last gordita. I have loved everything I have ever eaten there. They are consistently good which is nice when you drive 40 minutes. Love this place and miss it already!!!

Pretty killer tacos. This is one of those hole in the wall places that you just love, because you know it’s real, authentic, and all the locals flock here. Seems kind of out of the way in Southampton, but even though it’s kind of divey, it’s by no means dingy or not well kept. Nonetheless, the clientele is pretty diverse, from your normal retired Southampton frat bros, to the Mexican locals, and random city slicker tourists like myself, which is a testament to how good it is. Got the tacos al pastor, and lengua(beef tongue), no cilantro. For me, tacos can’t be too wet or too dry, and these tacos were just right.(Thanks, Goldilocks) Anyways, all the meats were cooked to the right tenderness, and I probably could have eaten 10 tacos. The double corn tortilla is a pretty good sign of authenticity. The taco combos are very well-priced, at 3 tacos, rice and beans for 9.25. There are also other combos that are inexpensive as well. Not too shabby for the Hamptons. Also, you should get some horchata for a sweet drink. Their recipe is slightly on the thicker side, but still pretty good nonetheless. For my next Southampton trip, I’ll be stopping here for sure. Gonna have to try their tortas and their burritos. Cash only, brah.

Most foul tasting Mexican food I have ever had. Dry and totally off tasting and I’m sure I didn’t just get a «bad» burrito Inedible The only thing I could eat out of my taco and burrito combo were the chips

Moved to Hampton Bays a year ago from California. This is by far the best Mexican food I have found.(My mom, brother and husband are all from CA and agree as well.) Come to find out the owners are also from CA. Pork fried quesadilla is awesome. So are the hard chicken tacos. Got 4 stars because it’s pretty expensive for Mexican food. I could understand the prices if the atmosphere justified it, but it doesn’t. It looks like a hole in the wall.(We always do takeout.) They got you in a bind though. It’s so good you’ll pay whatever, especially since there are no other options remotely close to their quality.

Wow. Most definitely the best Mexican food on Long Island. I was the only white person there, a great way to tell it’s truly authentic! Seriously spicy, fresh, hole in the wall. Not greesy not cheesy and most importantly great prices! I shared a burrito combo with my bf for $ 8 and it was more than enough for both of us. If you’re in Southampton or really craving some Mexican– take the drive, it’s worth it.

If you’re in the Southampton area, whether it be for work or leisure, I highly recommend a stop in at this little place. One of those«blink and you’ll miss it» type of places, it offers genuine fare that one may expect to find from a street vendor on the streets of Guadalajara. Make sure you show up with some bills in your pocket, because this place is small and cash only. I’m a plastic junkie myself, so I had to take a walk down to the ATM to grab some green, but let me tell you, it’s very much worth any inconvenience. When dining in this establishment keep in mind that there are only a few tables in this place, so if you’re dining in, keep the group to a minimum. In my dining experience, I noticed several people coming in to pick up orders. This is something I would definitely do, if I wasn’t so attached to the ambiance. There’s nothing overstated about this place, nothing pretentious, nothing forced. On to the food: I went simple, with combo plate of the taco and burrito. Each combo comes with a side of rice and beans, which I would save for the end to see if you even have room for it. Let me just say that eight dollars goes a long way at La Hacienda. If I had known the size of the burrito before they had brought it out, I may not have ordered the chips and salsa appetizer with a side of guacamole(which was delicious, by the way), but I somehow muscled down the remainder of my plate. There is a choice of different meats to use in your entrée, including beef, chorizo, pork, marinated pork, and chicken. Rounding out the meat selection of the menu was beef tongue. I cant tell you how glad I was that I chose to sample the tongue. I truly believe that tongue would be a much more popular meat if people could get past the fact that it is, well, tongue. All in all, I will say that I cannot wait to go back. I love mexican food, and I’m delighted to find that such a little gem was in my own backyard this whole time!

Was getting our oil changed nearby and used our handy dandy Unilocal app to find this place for lunch. What a great find! The place is a hole in the wall, but clean, quick, friendly and delicious! My husband and I were able to order enough food with still food leftover and soda for less than $ 20! The portions are big enough to share and I love that they have guac on their entrees without having to pay extra like other mexican places. We stayed and ate at the place and saw that a lot of people were coming in to pick up lunch — so come at an off-peak time if you want to actually sit down there. Best cheap mexican food I’ve had in a long, long time.
