TL;DR: Nevers Park was so much more than we anticipated. Beautiful and full of surprises. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon coming from the south on Sand Hill Rd. From our vantage point, the park was just a little path surrounding a couple of soccer fields occupied by overzealous preteens and disinterested moms and dads. Disappointment. We saw some people walking on the path and seeming to disappear into he distance though and so we decided to go and explore. We immediately happened upon one of those exercise trail stations that must have been popular in New England in the 70s/80s. Since I had skipped the gym the day before I was growing quite excited. After smoking my beau on the monkey bars, we decided to follow the trail and do all of the exercises — a little healthy competition never hurt anyone(he won. womp.). The trail opened up to a great playground, a skating ramp, baseball fields and so much more. We followed the trail through the woods and came across a ropes course(closed for the season I guess) and just general beauty. The park was big and beautiful and it’s actually now one of my favorite local parks. We didn’t even have time to explore the entire space so we’ll have to go back.

Great park. We went their a few years ago for flower festival but ended up going on the wrong date. Still had a fun time though. They have a giant playscape for the kids and baseball field as well.

My 4 year old loves this park! We drive up here almost every weekend during the summer for her to use the sandbox, ride the swings, etc. For the playground area it’s quite large, multi-leveled and seperated a little for smaller kids from larger ones, so it never feels overcroweded even when there are a lot of families. The community center right next door has never been closed when we’ve been there, nights, weekends, etc so she always has a clean bathroom to use and even vending machines for water if we forgot ours, it’s very helpful! During the summer months South Windsor has their Farmer’s Market here on Saturday mornings with live music, cold and hot foods, bakeries and farms from all over… We can play, eat and have an entire day for her for practically nothing. She always leaves tired and I’m happy with that!

Biking/walking/running trail, baseball fields and a playscape. Great place for everyone, including dogs.

I absolutely love Nevers Park! The playground is terrific for children. There is equipment based on ages and abilities. It’s a large playground and there are always families around. Nevers Park also had a dog park section, where you can meet up and take your dogs for a walk. As a non pet owner, I have not taken advantage of this, but all my friends love it. There are athletic fields here as well. The adjacent community center is always open when I’ve been here so there are clean bathrooms when your kiddie has to go potty.
