Stopped by as they came to San Mateo for the Moveable Feast today. I ordered the katsu curry bento box($ 10). Basically a fried pork cutlet with curry on top, a side of rice, and a little green salad. My first thought was that this wasn’t worth $ 10 for the amount of food I got. After eating it, the curry had good flavor but the meat was a little dry and I’m still a bit hungry. I don’t think I’ll be making a return trip.

Had the sushi burrito today. Very similar to the one from the sibling We Sushi truck, with a slightly different dressing … and perhaps a bit larger. It’s an interesting burrito shaped hand-roll packed with lots of fish, avocado, daikon and whatnot. Much better if you get it without the«crab» salad.

We2sushi is related to WeSushi so their pics say. 2 has more offerings of rolls, ala carte items than the original. went for the usual locale: soma street park(11⁄22) eats: chirashi(9.5 +tax) –8 small pieces of hamachi, snapper, tuna, salmon –fresh tasting but in referigerated state. –rice tasted sweet, fresh 3.5 stars notes: –seems all foods sold at soma park is taxed. –food ready in 5 minutes.

I recently tried their Sushi Burrito when they were parked at Soma StrEat Food Park. It was sorta weird, though it kept me full for the rest of the day. It’s basically a big California Roll, with mismatched pieces of B-grade raw fish added for good measure. It also includes lettuce and red cabbage, which doesn’t seem right. It’s like eating the garnish along with the meal. I’ll give these kids credit for their innovation, but I don’t think the sushi burrito is a recipe we’ll be passing on to future generations…

05/14/2013 — Attended a MF event where this truck was present. Its quite an un-missable truck with its bright pink paint job. Sis got a Lobster crunch sushi roll of which we shared. While it was good, it wasnt one to write headlines about. Pricey, but definitly better than a safeway pick(if you cant make it to a sushi restaurant) I would try it again… in fact im looking forward to it, if its in the neighbourhood.
