The State Room Banquet Hall

We went there for a party. The place was cute, but when my husband took our son to the men’s room he nearly vomited. There was pee all over the seat and floor and my husband had to clean it up before my little boy would use it.

Great place. Large enough for a big family. Party was a success.

My family has used this venue for years. As a matter of fact, as far back as the early 80’s if not earlier. This is definiately a great venue which has always gonna us to come back.
I held my engagement party here back in 2005 so I’ll base my review on that experience. The hall itself is genersouly spacious for any event. Although I never used the bar or lobby areas nor have any relatives for their events, they seem like they can handle any parties needs. The decoration of the hall is designed as if your in a courtyard, with good lighting. The stage is large enough for any band to set up. I’ve never used the kitchen for my party but its definiately fully equipt with commercial size refrigrators, ovens, and ice machines. There is enough bathrooms to accomodate large parties, If I remember right, there are 4 bathrooms (2 for each sex) located on opposite ends of the hall which makes it quite convenient. They also provide chairs and tables as needed. As for the pricing, I’m sure it has changed since my party but I remember it was affordable (please keep in mind I didn’t use many of the options tha hall has available, such as bar, kitchen, etc).
A couple issues that come up in my mind is the lack of sufficient parking, which isn’t provided by the hall itself so you’d have to try to get one from the two near by city owned parking lots or streets. There is also a furniture store across the street from the hall, which I believe is the same owner as the hall owner, where I believe you can park as long as its after business hours of the furniture store. Also, the lack of elevators. The hall itself is situated on the second floor, so those in wheelchairs may have a problem getting to hall. Now I know they have a maintenance elevator in the back of the hall which can be used but as far as an common elevator in the front, I don’t recall seeing one.
Overall, I’m proud to say this place has always been a great venue for many of my family’s parties and I’m sure I’ll be visiting this place for many more years to come. 5 stars all the way!
