Pretty good selection of food trucks — it changes weekly I’m told. Today there was Chinese, BBQ, Filipino, Taqueria and frozen Kustard. However, be warned, the official time says they are open until 2pm — this is not the case. I showed up at 1:15 today and we barely got food — filipino truck had stopped serving, BBQ was almost out of food, and by the time we left at 1:30, everything was closed up. Taqueria truck was cash only, but the other trucks took cards. My burrito was ok, more Americanized than usual from a truck; my friend got a pulled pork sandwich and really like it.

Huzzah to more food options around the Genentech buildings! Lord knows people that work here need more of them. As with all food truck setups such as this one, get in early to avoid the crowds and to actually sit. The truck rotation changes so check on the Moveable Feast website before you drive or walk over. If you decide to go, bring a few things with you: 1. Hat or sunglasses. There is no shade save a few small trees 2. A sweater, jacket, or something to protect your self from the wind. 3. A sense of direction. The space is a small so the lines can appear to wrap into each other after a while. Come early and take in this amazing thing called«outside of the office.»

This is the place to be on Fridays at lunchtime if you work In the Gateway area of SSF. The list of visiting food trucks can be found on the Moveable Feast website. There’s usually a couple of trucks that are«regulars» such as Frozen Kuhsterd or the Mexican food truck(which might I add has a bomb diggity guac), and some that come here once a month(or two months). So the best thing to do if you’re hungry for lunch on Friday before and didn’t bring, is check the website out first and see if something looks good is coming(or if a truck you like is coming!). If the drive or walk to 650 Gateway is kind of far, it’d be kind of sucky if you came here, wasting part of your lunch hour and to realize that none of the food trucks looked good. Of course if you’re reading this review, you know already to do your research on restaurants or other businesses before going there. :) I have had my fair share of good and bad food trucks here. I do like Frozen Kuhsterd and Sanguchon, and still have yet to try more of the trucks. Naked Chorizo and Curry Up Now are so-so. The best time to come here would be around 1PM when most of the lunch flock has left or around 1130AM when most of the lunch flock has not arrived. 12PM-1230PM seems to be the busiest times, which means wait times can be long… so you better bring a jacket with you in case it’s cold, windy, and gloomy like how SSF is normally. The exact location of where the trucks park for lunch is the parking lot of 650 Gateway. If you see lots of people, you’ll know you’re there. Since most of the lots are private in the area, the best thing to do is walk or get dropped off. Bön appetit!
