Clean & cute extension location off the chain restaurant. My favorite spot is the one on mission, but this one was pretty decent. Felt like it had a bit of a reputation to uphold since everyone raves about the one on Mission. My dad ordered the shrimp ceviche & it was delicious! The chips & salsa even impressed me. My family shared the super steak quesadilla. Served with guac & sour cream & cheese. Oh my! My grandma had the chicken taco. My brother ordered a huge chicken burrito. The only thing that wasn’t as good as I hoped was the rice & beans. Flan was also eh. Decently priced food. Family of 5 with drinks & flan ran a tab of less than $ 40. I would come back. The parking was much easier than Mission, hah.

Amazing burrito. Same quality as the one in the mission(well, the original one on mission and 24th for you purists). No tech hipsters. Mostly Hispanic folk(a very very good sign). Accepts credit cards. Don’t have to say more.

If they didn’t rip us off they’d get a great review, there is no way I’d be paying 45 bucks for a Carne Asada plate, a burrito, nachos, a can of soda and two hochatas… their sign says 1.50 for a can of soda… apparently their horchata is 5 bucks each? Never coming here again. The one near balboa park never charged this much. I went to a nice Japanese restaurant last night and paid 40 bucks, that’s expected but 45 for this shit? Yeah right.

What can I say? I love this place. The food has always been so delicious and the workers at the restaurant are always so nice. It’s funny that I always end up coming to eat here at night but I don’t mind that I’m alone because service is so friendly. My number one spot on grand!!!

My favorite place for Mexican food in the peninsula. They have the best burrito cuz I be passing out after eating one. Asides from that everything else is hella good too. The line is never long at least the hundreds of times I’ve been there except once in a while but you do get your food fast. There regular cashier there knows me now so it’s like home. With a big screen television and usually soccer playing you can watch a good game while enjoying your delicious food and sipping a cerveza. The parking is metered and sometimes you have to search or just park in the garage behind the business. Go and try if you haven’t been there. Five stars because the service is always good, price is well worth it.

In the great SF burrito debate, my family and I stand by El Farolito. We frequently visit the Mission location when home in SF, but when in SSF, we always go here for burritos. There’s no other choice for us – we always find the food consistently good with great quality. And an awesome salsa bar! Do yourself a favor and stop by one of El Farolito’s locations and try one of their amazing burritos! It’s cheap,(relatively) fast, clean, fresh, and delicious.

This is one of my top Mexican spots for good reason. The food is hearty, jaw droppingly low priced, salsa(green especially) is amazing, and the service is over the top! I’ve seen two managers here that just seem to love what they do and go the extra mile when I place big orders here. I prefer this location due to space, parking, and cleanliness. When I was filling up enough salsa for 16 people, the staff gave me a bag for it without me asking. Everyone loved the burritos I brought and they fulfilled my order on short notice. This place rocks!

I’m not sure what all the hype is over. Mediocre burrito in my opinion. Also, have never been a fan of lettuce in burritos which tends to get slimy in a matter of minutes. I ordered the chili-verde burrito. It was average, nothing special that I couldn’t get at most other Taquerias. It wasn’t bad by any means but I had high expectations because of the reviews.

As a resident in South San Francisco all my life, I have visited all the taquerias their are to be offered. I’m gonna make this short and sweet from what I’ve experienced. Burritos are very good quality with options of spinach and wheat tortillas with great fixings! Tostada de ceviche — has become my favorite ! Great tasting ceviche at a reasonable price.

I didn’t think there was good Mexican food all the way up in SF but I was wrong. This place is the bomb-diggity. It’s not the fanciest place around but it has an old fashioned vibe to it. I ordered carne asada tacos and shared a carne asada burrito. The tacos are pretty big compared to shitty little LA tacos. They’re packed with meat and definitely worth the $ 2.50 price tag. The burrito was good too. There was way too much rice in it though. Overall, a great experience here. I’ll definitely eat here again when I go back to SF.

The super shrimp quesadilla = mind-blown. They call it grilled shrimp, but its more like prawns, so big! the smokey char flavor on the shrimp is apparent and truly enjoyable. The tacos are warm, meaty, and flavorful. $ 2.50/taco is kinda pricey, but the tacos are quite large, and iMO, worth it. I recommend the lengua tacos! I’d come back!

I got a regular burrito, chips and a medium agua fresca for $ 8.76. The burrito itself is a burrito. Mine had chicken which had a bit of heat to it. I recall a distinct lack of char or any kind of smokiness on the chicken, which some may or may not enjoy. My friend and I dined in near closing time; naturally the establishment won’t be at its most presentable. You don’t go to a taqueria at 9:30PM for cleanliness though. Overall this place is a staple and easily one of the best taquerias in the Peninsula area south of San Francisco.

YAAAASSS! I was de-virginized when my coworkers took me to this place for lunch. When the line gets long enough to be out the door, you know it’s gotta be good! Although not the cleanliness place, the food speaks for itself. The service is quick and dishes are HUGE! I devoured my enchilada dish because it was too good to waste. You have to appreciate the authenticity of taquerias that do it right! El Farolito does it right! If I am ever craving some«real» mexican food while I’m at work, this place will be the go to!

KEEPYOURPHONEWITHYOUATALLTIMES. OTHERPEOPLEHAVEHADTHESAMEPROBLEMINTHEIROTHERLOCATIONS. I lost my phone in this taqueria when I left my table to get some more salsa. I spoke to the cashier and the busboy about it. They helped me as much as they could. After looking for the phone for over 15 minutes, I left and started walking down the street. To my luck I saw a police officer. I spoke to the officer who then went with me to the taqueria. We looked everywhere again. Nothing. The cashier gave me the owners phone number so that I could request the video recording the next morning. Both the officer and I left. After a few minutes I returned to the taqueria to use their phone to call a friend. The cashier told me that the busboy found my phone in the trash can and handed me my phone. I came home and searched Unilocal reviews for this restaurant under all their locations. Other people have had the same problem.

Haven’t had El Farolito burritos in a very long. time and I have to tell you its pretty good. The AL pastor(marinated and seasoned pork) for me is the meat of choice since they do it right here. I usually get the basic regular burrito with beans in the side so there isn’t too many things that can cloud the taste of the meat. The burritos are great and it is large enough. The meats are tasty and savory. Quick Tip: you can ask them to char the AL Pastor to well done and that caramelizes the marinade and really brings out the taste. Other things you can pick here are the soups, the nachos and tacos and other things. I’ve tried the nachos and it’s good with the additional meat. They also have the traditional Mexican dinner platters which, from what I’ve seen, looks really really good. They have the alambre(sliced steak) which looked great. Of course served with the normal trimmings of your choice of beans, rice, salsa, guacamole and crema. As for ambiance, it’s a pretty basic taqueria however if you speak Spanish they have futbol(soccer) on large screen most of the time. Service is pretty basic as well but the person at the register is actually really good and listens to your requests for the pretty well. Note: Beware of the salsa. The mild is still a bit spicy for most people, however if you can take the heat, go for the green salsa. Its phenomenal. So to sum it up, good burritos, good meats and proper servings of them… I would come back more often. I’m glad places like this are still around. This is authentic to every sense of the word.

Finding myself somewhere between SFO and nowhere, at a time when most eateries are closed or closing, I once again turned to Unilocal to help satisfy my gastronomical needs… and it led me here. Farolito mercifully serves up some really filling, tasty, and extremely reasonably priced(cheap) late(relatively late) night Mexican eats. Moreover, I cannot believe this place and the Farolito on 24th and Mission(that’s in SF y’all) are in any way, shape, or form associated with each other. I ordered a veggie burrito and quesadilla suiza(the same two items I ordered at the other Farolito) and was pleasantly shocked on how quick it was served and how good it tasted. The super veggie burrito was just the way I like it: on a warm spinach tortilla, black beans instead of re-fried(it’s a healthier option), with extra onions and cilantro, and a mix of spicy red and green salsa. Best.
The suiza was a very simple yet tasty combination of crispy flour tortilla, gooey cheese, and nicely grilled steak. Throw on some salsa for some heat and you can kiss those late night munchies goodbye. I swear, if all Farolitos were as good as this one, I would totally get why they garner such high praise. But until that day, this is will be my one and only go to Farolito.

«I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today». –Wimpy. This is how I felt on my first visit to El Farolito. It was at the stage of my early endeavors in San Francisco. I was sitting in my hotel room and I decided to Unilocal vegetarian food and El Farolito came up. I drove to the area and I was surprised on how busy it was. It was a Monday night… I placed my order, veggie burrito, but their credit card machine was not working properly. The cashier tried multiple times to get my card processed when my order came out. I said okay I guess I will have to come back. When he said«no, it is a sin to let you go hungry, take the burrito and pay me another day.» I was stunned and did not know what to do at that time. I asked him for his name: Horacio, he said. I walked away with my unpaid veggie burrito and had my dinner at the hotel. The next day, Tuesday, I went back and paid Horacio, unlike Wimpy. Every time I visit this place it feels like home. It is always crowded. I have not tried any animal dishes but I see so many families devouring them. My time will end soon in this area but El Farolito will always light me.

What I had: shrimp & steak burrito(no beans and spinach tortilla) with an agua fresca strawberry When I first stepped in, it was amazingly cleaner than the Geneva location. The place is nicely sized and makes for good seating. The line moved efficiently and the worker looked very diligent. The burrito was good. I just love el faralitos because it’s always a solid Mexican food place. It’s consistent and delicious. The burrito was a bit dry due to the fact I didn’t get any beans. The amount of shrimp and steak was extremely generous! It was mixed well for me to get a little bit of everything in each bite One difference between the Geneva location and this one is that this one uses whole piece of avocado instead of a guacamole ordeal. No matter to me either way.

El Farolito in SSF continues to be one of my go-to’s for mexican in the peninsula. I have to say that they have the best red salsa ever. Spicy, but oh so good. They cook their carne asada fresh as full pieces of steaks before chopping it up into your burritos and tacos. I would recommend anyone looking for some good mexican to make the stop at El Farolito
