If it wasn’t for the other guy waiter, I would definitely leave no tip. Shame on the owner for not treating everyone the same. He had his full attention to all the big groups but never attended very well on the smaller ones. I politely called for his attention to order something else but he cut me straight up to wait(rude) and of course, he didn’t get back to our table so I called the other waiter who passed by. We ordered Sinigang na Bulalo(because the owner recommended it instead of my original order of rib sinigang), shrimp tempura, karekare, green mango shake, and sago at gulaman), the food was okay but the service was downright TERRIBLE. We actually drove here for the bibingkinitan(they said they’re not making them. wow), anyway theres a much better bibingka place called Auntie Em’s Fine Food & Pastries which is a close drive. Not coming back here ever again. Please work on your customer service Mr. Owner.

Horrible service from the owner! My family came here to spontaneously eat out. The supposed male owner was our waiter. While he was taking our order, he annoyed the hell out of me because whatever we ordered, he would suggest something else. Therefore, confusing everyone especially my parents on making last minute decisions. When we stuck to our orders, he would say the same suggestions again. Hello?! We don’t want that, we want this! Lastly, when we thought we were done, he prolonged the order taking process once again when my dad ordered the«Hamachi kama»(grilled tuna fin). Instead of just taking the order down, he asked my dad if he wanted it in a soup version(that was not on the menu). So I answered him for my dad because my dad couldn’t really hear him, i told him that my dad wants the grilled one, the one on the menu. Then he proceeded to tell us that it’s very expensive and small. Hello again?! Aren’t you supposed to upsell us? Why are you telling us otherwise? Do we look like we can’t afford it? So I told him again for my dad that the price doesn’t matter, he wants the grilled one. Then he said okay, so then we all assumed that he understood me. So my dad waited for his grilled tuna fin that never came. When we were almost done, my older brother asked him where the Hamachi kama was. He then said(while looking at me), «I didn’t put that in the order» I was in awe when he said that. After all that back and forth? He didn’t add it in our order. I was looking at him when he said that while looking at me. Unbelievable! If you don’t want anyone to eat that? Then take it off your menu! I didn’t say anything anymore, i was already pissed and just wanted to get out of there. So disappointed, the food was pretty good but were overpriced. Will not be coming back unless I have to for somebody else. Message to you owner! If you want to be successful in this business, you need to learn to listen to your customers! Do not force us to eat what you want us to eat, and not give us our order just because it’s expensive. If we are ordering them, that means we want to eat them.

Had dinner with friends tonight. Due to a mix up on the number of people in our group, we were sitting really close to another group of diners. They were finishing up and ordered their dessert. It took forever. The owner came to their table and told the group to go. He did not know that they were waiting for their dessert. The group told a waitress about the incident and said she will talk to the owner. The arrogance was appalling. The treatment was so unfortunate. How can a restaurant personnel, in this case the owner, ask customers to go while waiting for an order. Shame on this place. Big ZERO for this place!

As far as Filipino food goes, this is one of my favorites so I have to give it 5 stars. The food is consistently of high quality and delicious. Filipino restaurants aren’t generally known for its hip ambiance, so don’t expect too much, but the business is clean and comfortable with plenty of parking. Service is friendly and professional. Has a TV that shows Filipino soap operas, etc. Some of my go-to items are: — Pinakbet — mixed veggies in shrimp paste sauce w/some lechon kawali(crispy pork) on top. — Kare Kare — peanut oxtail stew with vegetables(better than Karilagan and others I’ve tried) — Adobo — mixture of chicken and pork in vinegar/soysauce flavor. — Hawaiian Oxtail Soup — I literally crave this soup every few weeks or so. Just try it.

The food and service is great. Exactly what I look for a restaurant and the price is reasonable. We had the Hawaiian Oxtail soup. The meat is fall of the bone. The broth is very light yet tasty. It definitely did not need that soy sauce mix they got on the side. We also had the Pancit Pinoy lunch size. Very good size portions. The pancit fed 1 adult and 2 kids by itself. Then the mango juice is yummy too. If there’s something this place can improve on, I say it’s simply its structural touch. A little bit of TLC and updating/upgrade of the restaurant will help bring it’s Unilocal score higher which will definitely help bring in more costumers. I say this because, i had been living near by that place and always thought that it’s close or abandoned. For one, the sign totally needs improvement on attracting costumers. It looks faint. Like it doesn’t have that«boom» that calls people in. And who ever owned the place didn’t care. Just my first impression of the sign. Anyways, who am I to say, i don’t work for marketing or advertising. But, I am a good olé customer/consumer who’s giving my honest opinion. Bottom line, food is good, people are good, price is good, place is dingy(specially outside). I would like to see that place get the crowd they deserve… A long line of people waiting to eat there because it’s good and they definite have the potential… But they have to do something about renovating it. Hope this review helps.

I’m been getting food here to take out for more than two years now, I think. The first time I came here, I was surprised to find they have green mango shake. I raved about it and wished my husband could taste it so the owner was kind enough to give me one for free to take home to him. That made a great impression on me. When we ate the food I brought home, everything was soooo good! I am so happy we finally went here to eat and not just get to go so we could eat the food fresh from the kitchen and mannnn… everything was even better! Some highlights: Pancit Gusiado — it’s what we call materiales swertes! It’s not just all noodles; it’s filled with lots of meats, big shrimps and vegetables Crispy Pata — not fatty, tender and juicy meat, always crispy! Where other restaurants sometimes serve it dry, the skin sometimes too hard it feels like your teeth will fall off… Not here! The quality of their Crispy Pata is always the same :) Chicken Barbecue — again juicy and super flavorful without drowning the chicken’s flavor… never pre-cooked, which is sure to dry out the meat Green mango shake — there are no words to describe this so you just have to have it… period! In the end, you just have to say… MASARAP!

Situation — Work with co-workers on a Thursday(04 – 2015) — We ordered the Pinoy Adobo, Pork Sisig, Kare-Kare, and Aristocrat Fried Chicken — Also ordered a couple of Mango drinks Pros — All the meat dishes were tasty and well cooked Cons — It took quite a bit of time to get the Mango drinks, and they were a bit chunky

Everybody makes a mistake but what really matters is acknowledging and correcting it. This shows a lot for the business. Maybe I was a little harsh for the negative review yesterday but I call it as I see it. Anyways, it’s all water under the bridge now. We do love coming to this restaurant. As a matter of fact, this is our go to place in most of our special occasions. We always enjoy the delicious food and the hospitality. It’s a bit pricey but still affordable. No need for any of those free stuff, we don’t take advantage but thanks nevertheless.

Food was great but the customer service is so bad! Because the owner itself is the one who take the order and served the food, if you asked for water or something they dont care, they care only taking the customer order. Very poor customer service. But I still coming back because the food is excellent and clean. Highly recommended for Filipino food.

My favorite spot to go when craving for some really good Filipino food. Customer service here is always good, the times I have been they are always accommodating and friendly. The food is delish! The Kare Kare is yummy and when you ask they add extra sauce. The Sisig is also pretty darn good. Their Boracay shake(piña colada) is addicting, I always get this drink when I’m here and their mango shake is also pretty good. I definitely recommend this place for yummy Filipino food at decent prices.

The place closes out of the blue so forget what Unilocal says. It’s better to call the place directly. Very disappointing to travel miles only to see that it’s closed

I never thought I would be writing this review since my family & I really enjoyed this place, especially during Sunday afternoons but unfortunately the experience my friend & I had yesterday had me feeling the complete opposite… and to the point of no longer wanting to be a patron at this establishment. Yesterday afternoon my friend & I decided to have lunch and since we both love Lechon Kawali(deep fried side pork) we chose Boracay Restaurant & Grill to satisfy our indulgences. We were seated immediately by this nice gal and shortly after our orders were taken. Once our food had arrived we began eating, enjoying our food and proceeding with our catch up session. More than half way through our meal my friend screams out, «there’s a mouse!» I was immediately shocked and scared… with the side of my eye I had seen the mouse run the other way. Another patron was going to stand up but was stopped by his friend… after a few seconds a worker had chased the mouse with a broom and dustpan and I believe killed it. After the whole fiasco the workers went about there business which surprised me that they did not apologize for the unsanitary conditions. I will not be returning to this establishment. For the workers to not even address the issue and go about serving food is very very unsanitary and very very unsafe.

I so da Hunger! Randomly in the San Bruno area. I searched Unilocal and decided to have some Filipino food. The place is non assuming and easily drove pass it so be on the look out. As I entered with my friend we were cheerfully greeted by the owners. We were the first for lunch that day. The service was great! I was particularly ready to throw down that day so we ordered the kitchen sink: Sinigang na baboy, Sisig liempo, Binagoongan Rice, Lumpia, Fresh mango shake, Calamansi juice. Anytime I go out for Filipino cuisine my top 3 go to dishes are Sinigang na baboy(Pork), Dinuguan(stew consisting ofliver, kidney, intestines, pork cooked in pigs blood) and Sisig. The Sisig and Sinigang were delicious as usual but this is the first time every eating these dishes with Binagoongan rice. Fried Rice served with Mangos and tomatoes. Its a must have when your here, it mixes great with the savory dishes of the Sinigang and Sisig with sweet of the mangos plus cuts the oil with tomatoes. The lumpia was good olé lumpia nothing really to rave about. To wash it all down the mango shake is refreshing and not overly sweet. It’s the signature drink of the restaurant. If you are in the area, give this place a go and let the Unilocal community know what you think.

Great food & service. After reading some of the reviews, I guess I’m fortunate enough to always be helped by the wife of the owner. She’s very nice & always accommodating. The owner seems grumpy so I’m glad the wife has always taken our order. Whenever I go, I order the calamansi juice which is perfectly tart and sweet. The Aristocrat Fried Chicken is always on point. It’s tender, juicy, & crispy. I like it better than Max’s chicken. The sinigang is just how I like it… piping hot & tart! The bangus sisig is delicious! All their desserts are very good. I’ve tried them all too. I go during off peak times so getting a table is never an issue. I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely the best home style authentic filipino food ever! The crispy pata is to die for, extra light crispy skin and the meat is beyond moist and tender. All dishes are cooked with fresh ingredients, the pancit equal amounts of fresh vegetables and chicken meat. The accompanying sauces perfect. The bibinka is perfect, fresh scraped coconut topping. Crab fried rice is delicate and flavorful. Service excellent! Maria is a wonderful hostess, all the waitresses are sweet and efficient, truly a special family style gem of a restaurant! My whole family loves this place!

Man, oh man! I’m still thinking about this place. Have eaten here only once but it definitely left a great impression. I have to say this is some of the best filipino food I’ve had at a restaurant. Came here with a big group of family so we were able to order a lot of dishes. Everything we had here was fantastic! Inihaw na Liempo — great grilled flavor and well cooked pork Pork Sisig — also great pork flavor, with just enough heat Kare Kare — i’m not a fan of tripe but love everything else about kare kare. lots of oxtail in this one and loved the peanut-ty sauce Sizzling Alimasag — this was my first time ever eating soft shell crab. i’ve been missing out! batter wasn’t too thick Crispy Pata — cooked perfectly! skin nice & crispy and inside was fall off the bone tender Garlic Fried Rice — a lot of garlic, but i love garlic! Sitaw at Kalabasa — this was my favorite dish! veggies were cooked perfectly with an awesome coconut cream sauce. generous with the shrimp & topped off with lechon kawali! YUM! Halo Halo — love that they give you the option of which ice cream you want The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because of service. But the great food offsets the mediocre service. :-) Can’t wait to eat here again next time I’m in the Bay Area.

With so many Filipino restaurants in the area, it was difficult to choose. Boracay won with its offering of green mango shake. The exterior of the restaurant is lined with flowers and a fountain. And it has its own parking lot. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was busy with families. Since I’m not too familiar with the Filipino cuisine, I opted for the popular items. Green mango shake. Made with fresh green mango and ice, it’s really a green mango slush. The rim of the glass was salted, which added a nice contrasting taste to the naturally sweetened drink. Lechon kawali. I was hoping for thick meaty pieces of pork. Instead, the pork was fatty and over-fried for my taste. Seafood black rice. Black fried rice topped with seafood. Like squid ink risotto but on a drier side. Overall, the food was not bad. Seems like a popular place, so I will revisit and try other items.
