Jaira’s Waxing Salon

This place really knows about waxing. I definitely recommend it! It is a family business and they aim to please and accomadate.

I used to go to Jaira’s regularly. Unfortunately, on my last visit (prior to today), I had an extrememely unkind, very UNGENTLE (one of the most important qualities in a waxing salon) staff member who provided a service by which NO HAIR was removed, but tons of skin was taken. Having stayed away from the salon for several months, I called to make an appointment, telling them of my last, unfortunate experience (they apologized profusely and assured me that the woman who did that was no longer employed there). Jaira, herself, did my waxing today. She skillfully used a sugar wax which was both incredibly effective and (relatively speaking) non-​painful. She was very thorough in the process, and extrememly generous and nice in trying to make up for my last experience. All in all, Jaira and her salon were WONDERFUL today, just like it used to be; I recommend it fully again!

The Lima girls are absolutely THE BEST. While visiting New Jersey, I decided to change up my look before heading back home to California. Though I’ve been spoiled by San Fransisco salons, nothing compares to the service you will receive at Jaira’s salon. I found out about this salon through the «Hair By Lima» project that the sisters started. I came in with no idea in mind, but came out with a gorgeous new look created by Janay. Thank you so much Janay for allowing me to love my hair again!

I usually don’t posy reviews but I really liked this waxing salon. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. She did a great job of waxing my arms and made sure every hair was removed. She wasn’t aggressive either. I’d definitely come back!

I love this place because I never feel rushed and everyone takes their time to take care of you. I ESP love Paola because she’s the best!

The last two times I had Karina and was very good. Been going for a long time there and everyone is so nice. Great job girls.

Friendly staff, very clean atmosphere and good prices. Paola is my technician and from my very first brazilian, she’s been excellent!

I had an awful experience to say the least ! Two women were waxing me, and ripping the hair, one from each side, at the same time. As if it is not painful enough to have Brazilian wxing done, I experienced double the pain ! They were not gentle, they tried to do this as fast as they could. Normally, it takes about one hour to have brazilian and my upper legs waxed, this took 20 minutes. goes to show you how rushed it was, therefore, not doing the job ! I was soo angry at this, but I was in soo much pain, that I didnt even think to complain. They rolled on the wax with a roller instead of evenly spreading it in sections, little by little. My hair all grew back in 1 week and they were all ingrows because the hair was ripped and broked, not waxed from the root! It was extremely overpriced, especially considering the terrible job they did in 20 minutes. I will never go back again !

Love coming here! Everyone is so nice and very accommodating. I buy the package special for waxing and won’t go anywhere else. They are all very thorough and always do a great job!

I’ve been coming to Jaira’s for well over a year now and this is by far the best waxing salon I’ve ever been to. The aestheticians are all friendly and professional, they do a great job. I’ve had Brazilian waxes done elsewhere in the past but I won’t go anywhere else on the future. Great prices, fast service, and friendly staff. I’ve especially liked working with Jaira herselfas well as Karina. I would definitely recommend coming here whether you’re new to waxing or a veteran.

This was my first time getting a brazilian wax. I did my research and came across this adorable little salon. Everyone was very nice and the wax itself was just a little over 20 minutes and done perfectly! She knows exactly what she’s doing :] No ingrowns burns cuts or bumps. It was done just perfect. I will definitely be returning here. They also do manicures and pedicures!

Karina was very gentle! She did a great job and made me feel comfortable. I would absolutely return to Jaira’s for another Brazilian.

I’ve been going to the South River location for nearly 6 months so I think its a good time to write a review. The salon is clean and never too overcrowded. The staff is attentive as well.
I usually go to Marsha for a Brazilian and she is awesome. She’s thorough and its as painless as possible. She’s very knowledgeable about aftercare etc. The last time I was there she cut my hair as well as she is extremely talented. I haven’t had a haircut done that well in a very long time so I will definitely be returning.
They are definitely not too expensive for the excellent service they provide and the whole atmosphere they offer — definitely worth every penny!

Really cute, professional, clean salon. I went to the one in South River, where Marcy (sp?) did my Brazilian. She was efficient, friendly, and professional. She was thorough, following up with a tweezer on any missed areas. I recommend Jaira’s for waxing!
The girls who did my mani/​pedi are also very friendly and efficient. They even sang me happy birthday in english, spanish, and portuguese when they found out I came in for my birthday!
Jaira’s daughters are incredibly helpful and friendly, offering me coffee, white wine, crackers with cheese and salami. They made me feel so pampered and welcomed as a customer! I booked my appointment for next month already.
Love this place– worth the 30 minute drive! I’ll be back! This is my new salon!

To begin; I have to mention that I’ve experienced one too many nightmarish Brasilian wax jobs and I have finally found the place I love.
Not the kind of place that is going to pamper you or serve you champagne but I don’t care for that. When I come here for my wax, I’m in and out within 20 minutes and I’m, well, «follicley challenging» to say the least. Nevertheless, they make the experience as quick and painless as possible.
I’ve been waxed by a few different ladies, and so far, I’ve had consistently good experiences. Some are more friendly than others but as I mentioned before, I don’t come here to catch up on the current entertainment gossip; I just want to be in and out.
I must admit that it’s been a while since my last appt. but that’s only because unfortunately, it’s a luxury I can no longer afford. However, I have seen them on Groupon and snagged a great deal for $ 25 for a full Brasilian which is usually worth anywhere from $ 45 and up. So I will reunite with them very soon :)
They also have a pretty nice deal if you book you’re next appointment on the same day, you get (I believe) $ 10 off you’re next appt. I’ll also add that I love this place so much, I travel 30 minutes out of my way just to come here.

Jaira the owner contacted me due to this review and politely offered to repay my fee and have me come in for a complimentary wax with her. I declined the wax but accepted her check. I figured I would acknowledge her kind gesture.
