Just your average Ruby Tuesday. Food was decent, salad bar was good and service was good. We just don’t think to come here a lot because of our many other favorite«spots»

Ordered the Thai poon shrimp and onion rings. The taste was good but every time I took a bite of something it just felt like my mouth was coated in grease.

We went here Monday night. While the service was great, the food left lot to be desired. The microwaved frozen food tastes much better than what we got here. Not sure if the place is slow because the food is average or if the food is average because the place is slow.

Ok, food teeters between 2.5 and 3, but the service pushes this place to 4 stars! The salad bar has been fresh, plentiful and clean each visit. The entrees are pretty standard for a chain, but not bad. Tonight, I got the Cajun tilapia with mashed potatoes and salad bar… but I gotta tell ya… for a blah, grey Monday evening, the bar was lively because of our bartender Fabienne. She was so jolly and attentive, from dealing with takeout orders with kids to old grumpy folks, she worked her unforced good attitude to all her patrons… Service overall here has been very good, but she stood out tonight! Will be back!!!

So I’m only writing this review because I’m absolutely shocked someone said the service is excellent. The service is pleasant, but it is SLOW. No matter what time of day I’ve gone, the service is SLOW. I’ve never had a complaint about the food, but don’t plan on being in and out. Plan on 1.5 to 2 hours.

Used to go to this neighborhood restaurant and liked the general selection of items on the menu. Unfortunately, months ago they decided to make changes to the menu– all for the worse. Food options that compare to other similar restaurants are now limited. And now, my business there is also limited.

The best way to sum my experiences up is that it’s like an old folks place trying to be hip and attract younger folks. The food isn’t great it’s just so so. They have a bar so maybe if you went there just for drinks it might be okay. The service has been okay just the food has usually been luke warm and the quality is average.

Time for an update, and unfortunately, it’s not for the better. Ruby Tuesday’s has become a less frequent option for us, as they’ve made some changes that really detract from the value. First, they upped the prices considerably. Most pasta dishes or meat dishes now seem to start in the $ 14 range and go up from there, so my family of four routinely pays $ 75 for a meal with no alcohol and no desserts. Second, they’ve discontinued the curbside service. They’ll still pack up a to-go bag for you, but you have to come get it at the bar, and if they’re busy, the bartender may be distracted by folks needing bar service. The number of items on the salad bar seems fewer, too. Still, Ruby’s is one of the few places in the South Riding area that has a salad bar(aside from the grocery stores), and their burgers are fine, if a bit pricey(starting at $ 7 and going up to $ 12 or so). Ruby’s has gone from being a 2 – 3 times a month place for us to being a once every 2 – 3 months place — mostly if the kids want the salad bar. Ruby’s has really priced themselves out of competition for our patronage. You can get much better food for equal or less cost at several places in the area.

The service here is excellent, which is exactly what my wife and I look for. We have visited this location many times, and have never had a problem. The staff is courteous and friendly, and the manager knows how to run this place. Food is prompt, and I don’t mind paying for good service. This location has everything. If you reside in the area between Chantilly and South Riding, choose the South Riding location. You’ll be glad you did. Every visit has been fantastic. When my wife and I last visited the Chantilly location, the service was so bad we didn’t even order. When I alerted the Chantilly manager, he didn’t acknowledge us and watched us leave. South Riding location is our #1 stop. Service is excellent, food is great, and management is professional. The Chantilly location is not worth anyone’s time or business.

Always good food but mixed drinks like margarita and Long Island ice tea are watered down and could barely taste the alcohol. Service is generally good but not consistent as some servers do better than others. If it were, I would give 5 stars. Overall, we frequent this place about 3x per month and never disappointed with the meals.

One thing you will never complain about here is whether something has taste or not. The potency of flavour is very high. I like that… but sometimes, not always. For instance, i had the salmon with burboun barbaque. It was very good… but i didnt really taste the salmon. It could have been tofu and i wouldnt have known the difference. Thats not a knock against the place… when i want a flavor rich meal i will rely on RB. Service here is always great!

Ruby Tuesday sends out emails if you sign up for coupons. If I didn’t get those coupons, I don’t think I would particularly crave for this place. I do like their shrimp fondue on their appetizer menu, but the rest of the food is just ok. I also used to work here while I was in high school and while they do cook it hot when it’s ordered, the portions are already premade. Sometimes they do a horrible job of presentation. Like for the sides, the broccoli and rice pilaf, god I hate the way it looks when it comes out. They are, however, very accommodating to what you want. You can add, subtract, and substitute in different ways things on the menu. I just think their quality is not that good and like I said earlier, without the buy one get one free entrée coupon, I wouldn’t really want to eat here. I can go somewhere else for much better presentation and quality.

Went here for dinner last night and though we were seated quickly we waited for about an hour for our food. Not fun with a 3 year old! Other tables had rolls but we never got any. When the food finally came it was horrible! Definitely don’t recommend getting steak here. It was almost raw and extremely rubbery. My daughters chicken tenders were ok but coated in tons of breading. Not a fan!

Not really impressed each time I’ve come here. Service is fine but the personality of servers is lacking. Food wasn’t 100% correct but wasn’t too big of a deal(put tomato on my sandwich when asked for none). Server tried giving my 19 month old her plate of hot food and looked annoyed when i say it in front of me and he couldn’t put my dish there. Not too impressed but if in the area and there’s nothing else I’ll consider it

Great service at Ruby Tuesday tonite. My husband and I went there with my parents. Won’t lie, particularly happy they accepted our 2 coupons which were supposed to be «1 per table». They didn’t have to do that, though we based our order on the particularly good deals we were getting. Realized afterward it was«1 per table», but we didn’t mention it, glad they didn’t call us on it! Food was yummy as always. I ordered Chicken Bella– had portobello mushrooms and artichoke w Parmesan sauce, hubby had Pretzel Burger, Dad had Bourbon Salmon and Mom had Petite Sirloin. Everyone liked their meal plus the new dessert on the menu — cookie crust, choc mousse middle, with cake topping. Nom nom nom. We all left full & satisfied.

Simply put, its just like any other Ruby Tuesdays out there. If you like the food at one Ruby’s, it tastes the same as all the rest. Restaurant is clean, salad bar is standard(and most of the time it’s fully stocked), and prices are pretty average. I felt compelled to write this review because of our server Alyssa. I sincerely hope businesses like this take Unilocal/customer reviews into consideration because that girl works harder than any of the other servers in the restaurant. She is truly a peach. Always friendly & helpful, never misses a beat. If you come in often enough she’ll even remember your usual drink order. Thanks for your hard work Alyssa, you rock! If you’re in the area, make sure you ask for her as your server!

We tried this location for the first time last night since my husband and I had both received free burger coupons. Otherwise, I don’t think we would have ever really eaten here. We both made a comment about the restaurant remaining open in South Riding for so long because it seems it’s never really all that busy. I don’t think either one of us were expecting too much from Ruby Tuesday South Riding because let’s be honest, it’s a Ruby Tuesday restaurant. Service: We were immediately greeted and sat by a female manager, whom was very friendly. Our waiter was new and he wasn’t up-to-speed on the happy hour drink specials, no big deal though as he immediately brought over someone else(who subsequently became our waitress) to help him out. Restaurant wasn’t all that busy when we were there(Wednesday around 5PM) and I think our new waitress was also working the bar. I wish I had the woman’s name, but she was awesome. Her service rocked and she was very friendly. I read some reviews about this location on Unilocal before we went and there were some negative reviews and comments about the service. We did not have the same experience; I have to say the service was top-notch. Hopefully on a busy weekend night RT staff is just as superb. Food: I thought the location of the salad bar(right next to front entrance) was a little odd, but nonetheless I was really pleased to see there was a decent variety and everything was very clean and fresh. Too often if there’s an open salad bar it’s a mess and/or the lettuce isn’t fresh; not the case here. They do a great job with their salad bar and it was good. We especially enjoyed the warm, fresh croutons. Since we had free burger coupons that’s what we ordered. We both tried one of their new pretzel burgers. When the burgers came the presentation was nice(think I also remember reading RT did a complete overhaul of their menu, interior décor, ‘modern’ presentations with their food, plates etc). The fries weren’t all that hot, kind of a pet peeve of mine and tasted like normal fries. Nothing exciting or ‘wow’. Burgers were okay, nothing great and we both said we definitely had better. We wouldn’t go out of our way to eat here again. We were more impressed by the service than the taste and quality of the food. Food wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t so amazing we’re dying to go back. From time-time we receive some decent coupon in the mail. If we get another good one we would probably go again and try some of their other menu items.

We’ve been back to this location several times since moving out to South Riding. Each time we’ve had drinks and appetizers. Each time we were pleased with our experience — food and service at the bar were always great. Last night, we planned on trying Ford’s Fish Shack expecting it not to be too busy at 6:30 on Tuesday. The wait for a table was about an hour and there was no space at the bar so we decided to give Ruby Tuesday a try for dinner. I ordered Chicken Fresco — grilled chicken breast topped with tomato slices, lemon butter and a splash of balsamic. My husband ordered the Chef’s Cut Sirloin. I had to tease him a bit about ordering steak in Ruby Tuesday — just would not have been my first choice in a chain especially since sirloin tends to be a tougher cut. Both entrees came with two sides. The variety of sides is great — there are several vegetable options along with the more traditional choices of potato, mac and cheese, rice or fries. I went with the roasted spaghetti squash and salad bar, while my husband got the loaded baked potato and salad bar. The salad bar is not huge, but they have a pretty nice selection of items to include some prepared salads. Their broccoli salad is very tasty. Everything was fresh and replenished regularly. The entrees we chose were delicious. The chicken was flavorful — loved the splash of balsamic. My husband’s steak was tender, cooked just right and quite delicious. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. I love the fact that the menu lists«lighter choices» and under each of these shows the number of calories for the meal. Helpful in making smarter choices when going out to eat. This Ruby Tuesday offers consistently fresh, well prepared meals. No, it’s not fine dining, but definitely a solid choice for a casual meal that tastes great. We’ll be back and not just for appetizers!
