Wanted a quick meal before heading back to JFK and found this place on Unilocal! Was a little taken aback when we first walked in — it was a typical humid/hot summer afternoon in Queens and there was not a soul in the place other than us, the waitress who was mopping the floor, and the cook. They assured us they were still open but planning to close early due to the heat and lack of customers that day. Old-school place, no A/C but fans for the heat. Typical diner fare. I had a veggie wrap with fries and my bf had a tuna club sandwich with fries. His only error was asking for avocado be added to the sandwich. Maybe we’ve been in CA too long, but dang — the avocado was underripe/hard as a rock and inedible. I’m wondering how they were even able to cut slices from it! He had to pick it off the sandwich. Waitress was extremely apologetic explaining that the produce had just come in that morning(then why couldn’t you have just said that avocado wasn’t available?) But no biggie, she took it off the bill. Rest of the food was decent and it all came out in like 5min. Inexpensive, nice service. Not sure I’d seek it out again, but it hit the spot and was nice to fit one diner meal in after a short, hectic trip back home.

I’ve been eating at G & P Diner for almost a decade. I’ve never been disappointed! The Chicken Souvlaki is the best! I can eat it everyday!(sometimes I do lol). The breakfast option are awesome ! Make sure you check them out.

A great spot for breakfast before JFK! I had a spinach and mushroom omelette which was well done and hot. It was a good size plate. My husband had French toast which tasted excellent — had a mild cinnamon flavor and was firm. Coffee was fine but piping hot. If you like strong coffee this won’t cut it. Service was friendly and prompt. You could almost miss this place so we were glad we were looking out for it. Some great fruit and vegetable markets near it which tempted us to make a few purchase before we left! And we still made it to the airport on time which was just 15 minutes away!

A classic diner. Good service. The wood paneling and counter shape are 1950 – 1960 like. If they served beer and wine, it would be a good place to hang out. Good and fair prices too.

I love this place. Jimmy is a stand up guy. Cooks a good breakfast. Chicken Gyro is the best in the area. Good food for a decent price. You get a good deal for the price.

We stumbled in here to get some breakfast so the traffic into the city would die down after flying out from California. The folks who picked us up found the spot online. From the looks of it there wasn’t much to it. It’s a pretty simple bare bones little Diner in New York. The menu was pretty standard as far as diners go but the value was amazing. You get a ton of food for far below the national average. Waitress was very welcoming and even offered to charge my phone for me when I was searching for outlets. Her service was on point and she always kept our waters and coffee filled. We never had to ask for condiments she simply brought them over. The food was very good and as I said you get quite a bit. Granted it’s not Chez Paniese or 11 Madison park but they clearly put some care into their food. We all got waffles or pancakes and they were all pillows of warm deliciousness on a very cold day. Like most diners I wouldn’t go charging across town through an hour of traffic but if I was a regular in this neighborhood I would make this a weekly stop for sure.

Excellent bfast! I judge a bfast place by their pancakes. These are very good. Not heavy at all. The Pastrami omelette was good as well. All in all a good bfast spot!

Came here based on review. Glad we came. Everyone is nice. Cooks smile as they are working in the kitchen. Enjoyed the friendly conversations between the staff and customers. Food was really good. They welcomed Sophia(my service dog) with no issues. Too bad we don’t live in New York or else this would be our morning stop!

Joe! Sorry, but the staff is hilarious and since I’m sort of a regular they love picking on the members of my party(in a good way!). The food is pretty good and they always serve up everything pretty fast. Plus they don’t hassle us when we’re waiting for the rest of the party to drag themselves in for a breakfast turned brunch. I love coming here on a Sunday morning when we’re all half asleep and you’ve got the staff being hilarious as they are.
