Sephora

I made an appointment for a make up session before a wedding, my sister recommended seeing Ashley as she had done a great job with her daughter’s prom make up. A $ 50 purchase is part of the deal. All I can say is“WOW.” I brought a photo of what I wanted, she asked me what make up I preferred and she worked her magic. Ashley has a theater background and wears dramatic to make up herself and knows her stuff. I live Sephora because they have the ability to use different brands. I loved all my Bobbi Brown purchases but the Byte stick was a favorite. Ashley is super knowledgeable about skin conditions too. I have laser treatment for rosacea and use Retin A. Super sensitive skin. This girl knows how to work with this. Very satisfied customer;-)

I love the company but am only giving 3 stars for this store because you NEVER get your free samples unlike every other Sephora in this country that gives them to you with every purchase, without asking! I’ve also been brushed off when asking questions about lipsticks and coverage of certain foundations and made to feel like I’m asking dumb questions. Finally, I want to say that I have mostly awesome and friendly customer service at this store.

I am not a make-​up person… do’nt know how to put it on, don’t know what to look for, I’m a 30 yr old novice. I usually lotion up my face, layer on the maskara and curl my locks — that’s it. Don’t get me wrong, I like make-​up, but I don’t know how to use it (correctly) so I shy away.
Yesterday, my sister and friend took a trip to the mall (which I usually try to avoid because it’s so chaotic) and we obviously had to hit up the makeup department!
Brandon (spelling??), you’re my man! Each time I’ve gone in, he’s helped me find what I needed. The first time I was looking for a fun lipstick… this took us about an hr because apparently my lips are a shade of purple and that is SO not my color. He created a lip concotion that I absolutely fell in love with; an orange base and a pink lip gloss to top it off. created a beautiful, bright, salmon color for my kisser! Yesterday, I went in not really wanting anything. My friend knew exactly what brand, color, type of product she was looking for so we were planning for an in and out time frame. Brandon came to my rescue again. I inquired about a concealer that will last all day, not super noticeable, but made a significant impact on my skin without wearing lbs of it. He led me to this one right away. It worked magic. I don’t know the name of it because, like I said, only a few, obvious, brands come to mind. He also worked a smokey cat eye on me, but that’s a whole new task at hand.
Either way, he’s strong and educated on all of their products (maybe not the fragrances because I think there’s a person for that) and will lead you what YOU want, not necessarily what they want for you. I’m not one to break the bank on much of anything, unless it’s a crazy, amazing, dining experience, but this place is a crazy, amazing, beauty product party! Thanks to Brandon, I’ll probably be back much more frequently to stock up on things I most likely don’t need, but absolutely love.

Yesterday I stocked up on makeup for college and I’ve got to say… I LOVE this store! Every time I walk in a staff member welcomes me and assists me right away. Buying makeup used to be a chore for me, but now I look forward to it since going to Sephora.
I’ve always found what I need and I always come out with more than I expected to! The service quality is truly above par compared to the local competitors Ulta and The Body Shop, and Macy’s around the block. The staff is knowledgeable about the products and they happily answer all of my many questions. This store is the number one for makeup in southern Maine!

The mall… Oh the mall. How I love and loathe thee all at the same time. Sephora is one of the reasons to love it. Unmatched selection and knowledgeable, friendly staff to boot. Stopped in last night for new mascara (make up forever, smokey lash) and when they looked up my account, they saw my birthday was coming up and gave me a complimentary trial size mascara and lipstick of my brand! Bonus!

I am consistently disappointed by this Sephora. While their selection of products is AMAZING, their staff leaves much to be desired. I’ve had maybe two positive experiences in here interacting with staff… one in particular led me to my absolute favorite eyeliner ever (Stila all-​day liquid liner — amazing). But I’ve had many more negative experiences, including a couple times where I’ve been downright insulted by people who were supposed to be helping me. I’m also a photographer and I’ve heard several horror stories from clients who either went there looking for makeup advice or went there to have makeup done. I am fine going there for specific products, but I’d much rather go to Macy’s or Ulta if I’m looking to actually interact with someone.

I’ve had amazing service every time I stop by this Sephora! I think they only carried Stila liquid eyeliner in one color last year when I was searching for it, but they carry all the colors now :)
Although it’s a tiny bit smaller than usual, it’s compact and the staff is awesome. I stopped by over the weekend and I had 2+ people ask me for help before I made it to the checkout (and hey, I was moving PRETTY FAST). I was helped so fast that I even forgot to pull out my Wrapp coupon so I obviously have to go back before the end of the month to find something else that I absolutely (kidding!) need.
I happened to be looking for a new moisturizer (WINTER IS COMING GUYS) and Alyssa recommended me three different brands to try, complete with sample and a small printout about the product. I’m kind of way too excited to try these out. :P

Being a chain makes the personnel the most important thing to these links. They have a very good staff that knowledgable & friendly. Plus they were not overly pushy which I find staff in this situation usually are.
