I have got to agree with the first reviewer. I shop her frequently because I have to, and every time I am helped by a great associate I never see them again. Was wondering if there is a swirling vortex in the stock room or something. The bad attitude is consistent so I wonder if it is a management or perhaps a problem at the corporate level. I am used to shopping in PBs in other states. This was and continues to be a surprising disappointment.

I’m a huge Pottery barn fan and have always had excellent service in their stores but this was so annoying I had to write about it. I’m only ordering online in future. I phoned the store to see if they had a specific side table in stock and to see if there was any chance they would sell it(it’s unusual that they sell their floor displays but occasionally it happens), the person I spoke to said that by some wonderful coincidence they not only had the table in stock but that it had just been marked for sale. We were in the middle of a snow storm but I had friends coming over and really needed the table so I drove over an hour to get to the store. Arrive at the store and although they have the side table I’m looking for it’s not marked for sale, a different style of coffee table is for sale. At this point I’m mildly annoyed but the attitude of the person who helped me really p*ssed me off. She basically implied that I was making up the phone call. No «I’m sorry for the misunderstanding» just«That table isn’t for sale and won’t be». Didn’t care or have any interest in customer service. I still needed some lamps so I waited to find another employee to help me. The next employee was awesome and rang in my two lamp purchases. I paid and they told me they’d bring the lamps out. Horrible assistant comes over to say there’s been some kind of mistake and they don’t have the lamps in the stock room(even though it was showing they did) and they don’t sell floor models. She had SUCH a bad attitude — really don’t understand why people work in customer facing roles if they don’t like customers… So now I’m standing there with a receipt for the two lamps I’ve just paid for and she is telling me don’t actually have them. I politely explained that they’d just sold me two lamps and I would like to leave the store with the lamps I’d paid for. She huffed and puffed and reluctantly agreed they would give me the lamps on the floor while giving me a stink eye the whole time. Never stepping foot in the store again due to that employee.
