I’ve been going here for several years and the salon has always been friendly and professional. Clean, well kept. My old stylist left the salon because she moved and I went to Vinny today. All I can say is no one will EVER touch my hair again except for him. He did an incredible job! He listened to me! Imagine that, and he had a disaster to clean up after another stylist ruined it (not from Nu salon). I’m very happy with my blunt cut shoulder length hair. I absolutely love it! I finally feel good about myself again. Thank you Vinny for being the only stylist who ever listened to a client. Top notch communication and super friendly. Will continue going to Nu Salon for all my hair and nail needs. I definitely recommend this salon. Also ease of scheduling an appointment was fantastic. Very happy customer.
Update about two weeks ago Vinny colored and then glossed my hair the most amazing shiny dark brown I’ve ever seen. It looks and feels incredible. I’m so happy with Vinny! You feel like you’re hanging out with a friend when he’s doing your hair. He’s a blast and produces super professional results.

I had a very pleasant experience from the moment I called to make my appointment until my haircut was complete! Ling and her team were great and I’m looking forward to going back and referring my friends there as well.

This salon provides great service and attention to the customer for sure. There’s no way I’d spend 4 – 5 hours in any salon if it wasn’t clean and a friendly atmosphere too. I was so lucky last week that somebody canceled at the last minute so the owner Ling didn’t just touch up my color but she now had time for highlights, glossing, a cut and a Japanese Keratin straightening treatment (which takes hours but lasts 6 months). I walked out straighter & blonder & feeling great about myself, the salon and the people including Susanne at the front desk. Another reviewer mentioned lunch, they also asked what I wanted when they ordered dinner. Can’t go wrong there.

I went here to get a french mani/​pedi and massage. The staff were very friendly, but I thought my mani/​pedi looked subpar and wasn’t that happy with it. The massage was good but I scheduled for a deep tissue massage, and felt that the pressure was more of a Swedish massage. The massage room was also so tiny that the masseuse had to keep moving my table to get all the way around. Also, since the walls didn’t go all the way to the top, she had to run a white noise machine to drown out the noise in the salon (which did work). If I had to do it again, I would go somewhere else.

Very helpful & customer oriented, I called short notice for a same day appointment… got in within 30 minutes! Front desk rep Offered tea, coffee & little desserts. Also I was greeted in a timely manner by Vinnie & she pampered me while giving me a manicure & pedicure. I needed Vinnie to fix my big toe as I messed it up & she removed nail polish & redid it for me again with a smile. Thank you for such a great experience!!!

New to the area and have struggled to find a good nail salon. This place is so much more than just the nail places that rush you in and out. They take their time to ensure you get your money’s worth and seem genuinely interested in you. I like that they are well established in the local community and have a strong local clientele. Though the prices are a bit steeper than your average mani/​pedi, the quality is really top notch. Will definitely be coming back to try coloring services also. Ask for Donna, she was professional and fun, very easy to chat with.

I found the salon when looking through Unilocal and all the recommendation i found had me looking into it and i have to say that it’s AMAZING!!! My stylist what VINNY and i couldn’t be happier. He made me feel super comfortable and was so professional in his attention to my hair that i can’t wait to go back to him…

I went to this salon for the first time for a full set of LCN extensions and a pedicure. Denise did My pedicure and I can honestly say it was the best pedicure I’ve ever had. She was very thorough and gentle. She gave a great massage and did a fantastic French pedicure. Her manner was so sweet too. Great person to talk to. She does makeup and hair as well. I’m going to go to her for a hair Appt next week. Ling, the owner, did My Nails. It took a little longer than she expected due to a scheduling issue but she worked as hard as she could to get My Nails just right and done Quickly. She felt so badly about it they gave me a complimentary chair massage that was so… relaxing. All in all I highly. recommend the ladies and gentleman at Nu Salon. They are accommodating and like one big happy family. They Make you feel like you’re a part of that family as well. They all knew My name and were very attentive. I’m looking forward to going back and bringing My future mother in law.

My daughter took my grand-​daughter yester day for a hair cut at nuSalon. She was very happy with the cut and how they deal with children.
Brooke, grand-​daughter especially loved the brownies they had.

I discovered this salon through Unilocal a couple of weeks ago because I was looking for a nearby place that does massages. It was my sister-in-law’s bday and, as a gift, my brother wanted to treat her to a relaxing massage. they were from out of town so we really were looking for a place that would be avail that day. when I called up Nu Salon, they were accommodating and we got to come in within the hour for the appt.
I went with my sis-​in-​law to the salon because I wanted to check it out. my first impression is that it was beautiful inside (you can refer to my 1^st check-​in). the décor was light and airy. they had a cute chandelier at the receptionist station and lots of modern furniture. the floors were clean and all the different stations looked neat and orderly. the salon was well ventilated because I really wasn’t overwhelmed by any smells from acetone or hair dye or anything like that. we were greeted by the friendly receptionist and she offered us a beverage. this directed my eye to their beverage snack station and it was cute. they have coffee tea and water and some baked goods and candy. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a salon that offered that.
we didnt have to wait too long before my sister was called in for her appt. she went in for an hour session for a deep tissue massage. she told me it was so relaxing and therapeutic. she had some knots in her back area from carrying her 20 month old son. The masseuse was able to relieve those areas in her back. she did recommend that I should try them out.
I finally went there today to check out their services. i wanted to get a pedicure, eyebrow and lip waxing and was able to get that done as a walk-​in. again, I was offered a beverage after I was greeted by the receptionist. she remembered me from my last visit. I had their chamomile tea and I only waited a couple of minutes before getting called over to the pedicure area. their polishes were all organized and I was able to pick one out right away. the massage chair was super comfortable and relaxing. the pedicure service was great. the stylist did a great job removing all the dead skin. my feet are soft and pretty again. the pedicure included a relaxing lotion massage as well. after the pedicure was the waxing service for my eyebrows and lips. I think they did a great job as well. the room was neat and private.
Overall, I had a great experience at Nu salon. everyone was so friendly and attentive. I learned that they are going to expand and offer facials in the near future. I’m pretty excited about that. I’m love facials and I usually would have to go to a place in south river to get one done.
I gotta say that I’ve lived in this town for a very long time (over 30 yrs) and I never really committed to going to a local salon. I usually go to random nail salons for pedicures and waxing. I’m pretty stoked about coming back here in the future for more services. i definitely want to book a massage appt. one of the other customers had one today and i asked about her experience. she couldn’t stop raving about Mary Ann and her magic hands! I am also thinking about getting my hair done there too, i usually go to a place out of town but i am willing to try out nu salon.
for all you other Unilocalers out there, I just want to let you know that this is a legitimate review. I’ve been on Unilocal since 2011. I’ve never met the folks at Nu salon before, but I gotta say that they’re a great crew and I’m looking forward to coming back there. just beware of other supposed reviews out there that are off-​key. Take a look at their activity on Unilocal and you’ll see that they’re not legit and probably only created an acct recently to sabotage this place. I truly think this salon is great and I am looking forward to going back there for my beauty needs!
