Killer banana muffin!!! I was working next door. Grabbed some sandwiches too. Coffee to go. Wow muffin is good.

I really like this place, head there about once a week to pick up a loaf and or pastries(I alternate). Everything is –really– good. My favorites are the country loaf, cranberry muffin and that xtra large muffin they have, blueberry i think. Owner and staff are friendly, service quick. They also have fresh squeezed OJ on ice, and an expresso machine. If they start stocking soy and or almond milk ill try the coffee there. Do that and add soft boiled eggs to the menu, it’ll be a one stop shop for me for breakfast.

Small local bakery in South Pasadena. The food here is phenomenal!!! My parents love this place and always go but I hadn’t had a chance to eat any of their stuff until recently. I am so happy I finally got to try this place out. Their mushroom pastry is amazing!!! So delicious! And it had some feta or goat cheese on top too. I also usually don’t like sandwiches or it doesn’t dawn on me to ordering a sandwich(being Asian) but their roast beef sandwich is OMG so good! The outside of the bakery is nothing fancy so it’s easy to miss when driving on fair oaks but this place is a gem!

Picked up a couple pies over the weekend. Both were delicious. The apple pie had a great crust and excellent filling. The pumpkin pie was also fantastic — and I generally am not a pumpkin pie fan. Chocolate croissants were also quite tasty.

You don’t find that many family owned bakery and this is one of them. It is small, not necessary a place to sit in unless empty as it is small. No eggs except for quiche which is pretty damn good as it and everything here is homemade. No bagels for you bagel nuts and no donuts but a small selection of fresh pastries.

The latte i got was just okay… the muffins my kids got were moist and yummy, but broke to crumbs too easily. The interior was dark and not that special even though the day before i went, they were filming inside for some kinds of TV show… i don’t know what was si special about that place…

A little pricey for me, but good. Come early on weekends or there won’t be much left. I have walked past this bakery a million times and only recently realized they are actually in business. They block out the windows completely, which is weird. Still, the food is legit.

My first visit was nice. Their bread pudding is to die for! They have coffee. Nice! The employees are attentive. I had trouble finding them at first. I must have walked right by it at least 5 times before someone had to tell me it was there. It looks condemned on the outside. The inside was much better. I’m not sure if the cupcake had been sitting there all day, but I got the last ones on my second visit. They both tasted like corn bread with food coloring. The presentation was sloppy, and the icing was tasteless. But that bread pudding, though!

I went a couple days ago and got croissants and a lemon cake. They were outstanding. Also it smells incredible in there! I will be back.

I love coming home to south pas and being welcomed back here. Union Bakery has such good quality baked goods, the store is adorable, and the owners are always so sweet. Everything is good, including the coffee. Usually I just get the fresh OJ and a heart cookie but today I got a mushroom croissant thing — omg. I honestly almost cried it was so/too good. Yes, the goods are a little pricier than Ralph’s but again, you’re paying for quality and real/fresh ingredients… plus atmosphere.

I’d give 4.5−5 stars if I were only rating the quality and craftsmanship of the baked goods and food here. The sandwiches are fresh and filling, just the right portion(not too big or with too much bread like in many other places) — although overpriced($ 7.75 /sandwich). The croissants are to die for! I’ve tried some of their other pastries and they have all been flaky and delicious. Their coffee is pretty good too — I got the French Roast and it wasn’t acidic or burnt. Now, the reason I gave 4 stars is because I’m upset about the use of styrofoam cups — even to drink inside, not just for to-go orders. Maybe it’s because I’m a Berkeley girl at heart and everyone is so environmentally conscious there… But seriously, I tried to tell the owner too and got some funny comments in return — and a mention that they can now be recycled in LA. When I asked if they recycle them, he said no and we both laughed(me more like a frustration-cry/laugh). Overall: nice atmosphere, caring and sweet owners, good quality food that’s a bit overpriced, not environmentally conscious or responsive to concerns.

3.5 stars! I got the turkey sandwich which was pretty average, but what I loved was the bread. The sourdough bread was perfect and just how I like it. The crust was nice and crunchy with a great sourdough flavor; and the inside of the bread was very soft but still held the sandwich together nicely.

In my opinion some of the best cookies you could EVER eat! So soft and chewy you can stop eating them! I won’t even talk about the chocolate cookies… Just go!

Who knew??? I’ve walked by this Bakery a dozen times, and never thought twice about entering. Not sure if it’s due to the unappealing storefront, or the metallic tint on the window that prevents anyone from glancing inside– but it wasn’t a place I bothered checking out. Took my kid out for a walk and it was just past 7am. The neighborhood bakery I usually go to for my morning pastries(Heirloom) often don’t have the full assortment of pastries out til 8 or 9. And I was cravin’ a chocolate croissant. So I took a chance and walked in one morning. Best chocolate croissants in the neighborhood! They were light and fluffy in the center, with a delicate and crispy buttery exterior. I prefer these to Heirloom as I always thought Heirloom was too dense for croissants, but never had an alternative… til now! They really did remind me of the chocolate croissants you would get at Amandine(West LA). I tried a handful of other pastries(apple turnover, blueberry muffin, berry cheese danish, and the quiche.) Thought the quiche could used some salt, and the other pastries weren’t bad. But really, the pièce de résistance were the chocolate croissants! The guy servicing the counter was friendly and pleasant as well.

A friend of mine introduced me to Union, as its his favorite bakery. Its located on a busy corner, but its a no-fuss, classic little bakery. We had some coffee and just hung out a while. There’s only a few tables inside, so its cozy. It’s family owned, and the owner and his wife were really friendly. We each got a box and got some chocolate chip cookies, red velvet & chocolate cupcakes, macaroons and raspberry tarts. Everything was super fresh and tasty! I especially loved the red velvet cupcake and raspberry tart. A simple yet perfect little bakery, I will definitely stop by again when I’m in the area.

Must get their chocolate croissant! Mmmm: P tastes so good after they end warmed it up for you. I’ve also tried their cinnamon roll but was not impressed with it. In terms of the savory foods, I’ve only had the chance to try their bacon and cheese quiche which I really liked too! But who doesn’t love bacon? Their coffee is nothing special, probably the same as getting a cup at Winchells or Yum Yum donuts. Their staff is sweet and the owner is nice. Great place to pick up pastries for a potluck that you’re having instead of going all the way to Porto’s!

Average Bakery with high prices. Yes, you can get some of the same items across the street at Vons and Pavilions. Their coffee is mediocre, but they do have good courteous service. Union Bakery is supported by lots of loyal locals, but great bakeries are not hard to come by now in the LA area.

I hate to say PASS! on a small business like Union Bakery but I was not impressed. We were looking for a great croissant/breakfast pastry option in the area and decided to give them a try. One thing I can say is five stars for the wonderful customer service they provide to their regulars. The owners seemed to know everyone by name and that’s certainly the type of service that keeps folks coming back to a place. I tried the chocolate croissant(didn’t care for it at all), the ham and cheese croissant(which was the better of the two but still parted with half, which is something I’d never do if I really liked something), almond biscotti(didn’t care for it), tried a couple bites of the sticky bun(a bit to dry for my liking), a heart shaped butter cookie(not terrible, but how can you really screw this up?). I wouldn’t recommend this bakery or willingly return.
