I’m not sure if they change the ownership or not. I felt like eating g at mom and pap shop and the quality is not that great while it’s extremely over priced. I’ll never visit again.

I come here for the Lobster Pasta. Unfortunately, they don’t have lobster today, so I get the Salmon Pasta and their warm mushroom salad instead. The salmon pasta is very good. There are a lot of salmon on the pasta, and the salmon is fresh. The warm mushroom salad is good as usual and lots of mushrooms. This is a small restaurant, and the chef is a nice lady. If you come during the busy time, the wait might be a little bit longer, but I think the food is worth for the wait!

Wow! It boggles my mind that some of the reviews for this place are negative. I found it by accident and decided to give it a try. I had the lobster pasta and as soon as I saw it, it was love at first sight! I could just tell by looking at it that it was going to be fabulous and it was! The broth was tasty and the lobster was generous, meaty and cooked to perfection. Love it! While I was eating it, I had to look on Unilocal to read the reviews. I was just curious and I couldn’t believe the division. It looks like people either love it or hate it. I’m with the lovers! I’ll bring my Mom here when she comes to visit me. She’s the only other person in my life who will appreciate it!

The portions are ok. The food is average. However, there is so much room for improvement on the service side. Called in an order and was advised that it will be ready in 30 minutes, came inside the restaurant 25 minutes after the call only to find out that they were just about to start working on the order. I would not have been surprised if the restaurant was crowded, but noh, there was only one dine-in customer! I could not understand how it could take them so long! I ended up waiting another 15 to 20 minutes for my order to be ready.

I came here the other day to order take-out for 5 people. I needed no-salt, or needed to know what had salt, because we had a very special health/medical restriction in the group. They were very helpful and we were really happy with the order. –Salmon– had a nice crisp, good healthy veggies on the side –Lobster pasta– a little rich, but really yummy. –Panko crusted shrimp salad– very good, I liked the dressing –Mushroom salad – yummy, doesn’t even need dressing. Would have liked larger chunks of mushrooms rather than thinly sliced. –White fish with black bean sauce– a little salty

Salmon pasta is one of my favorite entrees. It’s a jewel in an expensive restaurants jungle. I sure will return because I can see how they cook my meals.

Great for health nuts and people hitting the gym looking for a clean bulk. This place has left their food light, and healthy. If you’re looking for seafood heavily drenched in butter and salt, this is not the place for you. I see some people complaining about the rice — it’s a blend of brown rice. I also cook sous vide salmon — this place does not over cook the seafood. It’s cooked to a medium(around 130 F prob) which is just right. Again, not for people looking to eat a heavy meal or brown rice. Health conscious people — get on this place!

As others have complained, the décor could be upgraded, and you are served your salad in paper bowls… right next to a Rite Aid. Really though, who cares? It’s simply decorated, but very clean and inviting. Please believe me when I say that while the restaurant is not beautiful, the food most definitely is. The owner was apparently a fish importer, and then decided that she would open her own place and cut out the middle-person. I had the lobster pasta, which had a large(probably 1 ¼ lbs) shockingly fresh lobster with beautifully cooked, sweet meat. The pasta itself was perfectly al dente, and the cream sauce was very tasty, an interesting mix of Italian, Chinese and Fisherman’s Wharf(and somehow worked amazingly well). The wife had Talapia with black bean sauce, which had a wonderful sear and crust, but was still medium rare as she requested. The two bites she let me eat were delicious. The seafood chowder was very good as well, with robust ocean-flavors without being«fishy», a nice, hearty cream finish. To be clear, this is not a first, second, or even third date place. Go elsewhere for romantic ambiance. This is where you go with your significant other or spouse and kids when you want incredibly fresh seafood cooked beautifully without any fuss, and for a very reasonable price. We’ve definitely found our new go-to place for no-frills, great food.

The first time I came I got the lobster pasta, and I enjoyed it. 2nd time: salmon plate Salad = just bagged lettuce(no tomatoes, no carrots, no nothing) House rice = white rice Salmon = maybe 3 ounces I liked the green beans. Yo, let’s get real fanta-sea. You serve a purpose. I love fish, but I don’t cook it at home because I don’t want to smell it four the next seven days. Step it up, and I’ll come every week.

After passing by Fanta Sea Grill for a number of years I decided to invite myself along with some friends. I had my initial concerns about Seafood in a small little cubby hole that never looked packed but always had a few customers. Not to mention in South Pasadena, which the closest beach is 45 minutes away. I understand the décor is minimal and it is not a romantic place to take a date. They serve food on paper and have a basic iceberg lettuce and shoyu vinagerette dressing with their salad. There food is a little pricy. The cheapest item is $ 6.00 to a lobster pasta that can be $ 25-$ 35. So why do I give it 5 stars? The food is very well prepared. The lobster is a generous portion unlike most restaurants. They have a very small staff but they are polite. I have tried their fish and they cook it perfectly. There blue crab and tofu burger comes out in crab cake form and served with tomato, onion and a tartar sauce. The bread was fresh. You can tell the bread was delivered that same day. I have been back a few times and would suggest more people try it out and they might be pleasantly surprised.

Hands down great lobster pasta! Also had the blue crab and tofu sandwich which was good but I was expecting more crab than tofu. Friendly and helpful staff always a good thing! I would come back for the lobster pasta for sure!

Huge let down. Pasta was gross, I mean it was hard to swallow even. The corn chowder was the only thing that was halfway tasty. I’m getting a little nauseous just thinking about our visit here.

Um I don’t know what to say about this place? The environment is really casual but the fish was served on a paper plate. what… and the food wasn’t good. I don’t even know why they would pair it with rice it’s just strange.

Lobster pasta was tasty and msg butter free as advertised. Corn chowder and prawns pasta also worth trying. Chef prepares pasta under strong fire — good fusion style pasta shop. Will be back soon :)

This place is known for their lobster pasta, but I don’t think I have tried it… Or have I? I have tried all their sandwiches and a a few of their pastas and had some amazing tuna and salmon dishes here. This place is really real good. Let me get really real. It’s a small place, with great prices. It’s not a dimly lit fine wine and dine place. It’s very casual and the second most convenient seafood place(aside from señor fish) in the small city of South Pasadena. The employees are very kind and offer great service. When I need a refill they ask me if I want a refill. Don’t overlook this place. The end. Vay will take care if you, I guarantee it.

Hubby and I went last Friday and I had the Lobster Pasta and he had the Dynamite Shrimp Stew. We each got a side salad with a ponzu-like dressing. The iceberg lettuce was crisp and almost sweet. There were a few other leafy greens in them as well. The Lobster Pasta was tasty. The noodles were more Asian-y, than Italian-y. Maybe, because I’m Asian, I liked it. It was soft and a little lighter. There was about half a lobster in my pasta! It was cooked perfectly. The sauce was tasty. Hubby thought I wouldn’t be able to finish but it was so tasty that I did. The Dynamite Shrimp Stew was okay. Hubby was expecting it to be thicker. It was almost broth-like. The flavors were strong, but I didn’t like it too much. Shrimps were cooked perfectly, were huge and tasty. Rice was served on the side.

This place is nothing Fancy but the food is AWESOME! the portion is big so 2 dishes feeds 3 people easily. The owner Grace is super nice, she used to be in the seafood importing business so she knows how to pick the highest quality seafood and meats for her restaurant. –lobster pasta: half lobster(very meaty and perfectly prepared) –beef short ribs: hands down the best beef short ribs I’ve had. The the price is too low for the quality and taste.(it wasn’t on the menu so Im not sure how much it costs but it’s was just a little over $ 100 for 4 people!!!) –spicy shrimp in stew: I eat very spicy so I am not a big fan of the not so spicy sauce but the shrimp is very big and juicy. Overall, this place is great, Michelin rated quality and taste. Seriously, the food tastes better than some Michelin rated restaurants out there.

Hole in the wall seafood restaurant located next to Rite-Aid on Fair Oaks. Ordered: *Bay Scallop Pasta($ 11): linguini topped with scallops(A LOT), mushrooms, basil and scallions in a white wine broth. Very tasty! Only complaint is the linguini was soft and clumped together… I prefer it al dente. Portion size: HUGE(feeds 2) *Grilled Salmon($ 11): served with two pieces of salmon, two zucchinis, two broccoli, two cauliflower, brown rice and two dipping sauces(tartar and a peach colored cream sauce). It was okay, nothing special. The standout was the zucchini, surprise surprise! Portion size: Small *Lobster Pasta($ 22): linguini topped with ½ a lobster in a creamy sauce. The lobster was cooked perfectly and was so meaty! Portion size: HUGE(feeds 2) Check out the size of the Lobster Claw: *Seafood Corn Chowder: Pretty good but would’ve been better if it was creamier. Not a fan of watery chowder(unless it’s manhattan). Service: Good Parking: Street

** MYFAVORITERESTAURANT ** They are not kidding when the best food can be found in hole in the wall locations, because this is definitely one of those places. I still remember my slightly raised eyebrows when someone took me here for our first date a few years ago… Tiny restaurant that serve you food and drinks with paper plates, paper cups, and plastic forks. I was a little scared during my first visit. Well, let me warn you, just because they serve some of their food on paper plates with plastic forks, this place is not cheap. I have been dining at this restaurant for over 6 years now. Same staff, same quality of food. My favorite is their LOBSTERPASTA, always creamy and cooked to perfection. I lick my bowl clean everytime I order their lobster pasta! Just thinking about it makes my mouth waters… Other dishes you might want to try is to SALMONPASTA that is a stir-fried with tomato based. Absolutely wonderful too! If you are feeling adventureous and don’t know what to order, I guess you can always ask them for recommendation or to surprise you. During my past experience, I have found that they always have dishes that is not listed on their menu or «Specials» Menu.
