I’m happy this place opened up since no one in South Orange sells boba. It may be hard to find since it’s just a small shop – Bubble Pop is located near Ricaltons, next to Walia, and across from Pandang. There are only three window seats, but they do have free wi-fi. Honey Green Tea($ 4.25): The«popping boba» is pretty neat; I’m not used to juice filled pearls. The honey and green tea flavors blend pretty well, while the juice in the boba have a kind of sweet but tangy taste to them. We also tried the Vanilla Bubble Tea($ 4.25) and the Taro Bubble Tea($ 4.25). The vanilla and the taro flavors were strong and not watered down. However, if you’re not into fragrant, rosy types of teas, the drinks here might be an acquired taste. Still, this place is a nice addition to South Orange Village Center. I wouldn’t mind stopping by for my regular boba fix. The owners are also really friendly and I’m always happy with the different flavors I order. Oh, and the name«Bubble Pop» reminds me of the song by Hyuna(K-Pop star), but I digress…

I’ve been here a handful of times for boba only because this is the only boba place in the neighborhood. The drinks are meh, all right, nothing too special, a bit stingy with the amount of pearls you get with the drink. Definitely don’t get their crepes– they’re pre-made and sit in the refrigerator until ordered and then taste like weird dough when they serve it to you. :/

I always loved getting bubble tea in China, but definitely wasn’t expecting to find any places with it when I moved to the area. I was happy to find Bubble Pop! It is clean, has great fresh options, free wifi, and friendly staff! Their drinks are just as good as the ones I’ve had in China if not better! I have had the almond milk tea with & without bubbles, hot and cold. The coconut or taro is also really good! I also like the fruit smoothies with bubbles or jelly. They also have a nice citron hot tea. perfect for a cold day or when you have a cold! *Also Seton Hall students get a discount if they use cash & show student card!* Shop local! This is their website if you want a full menu…

I think this is the best tasting bubble tea I have ever had. And right in town next to Ricaltons across from Pandang. Cute, friendly and wonderful. Run, don’t walk! This place is heavenly.

I am a bit of a bubble tea connoisseur; I make my own at home and I always look for bubble tea shops to try everywhere I travel. I am from out of town and was extremely excited to see a bubble tea shop in South Orange, and was hoping for some good bubble tea. I am pretty picky and have to say this bubble tea was good and I have already been twice and will be back next time in town. The boba was the right texture and flavor, the various bubble tea drinks and smoothies we ordered were all delicious. Its nice they also have other menu items like sweet and savory crepes. The only two complaints I have is that they only put in a small amount of bubbles with the drink(its my favorite part and I even asked for extra), and wished they had some more flavors like honeydew and lychee. Other than that, I would highly recommend people try this place out and support the shop since its the only one of its kind in South Orange!

I was skeptical when I first saw this place open up – I’d been to LimeRed in the Pioneer Valley and written off bubble tea as something only the west coast can properly pull off. I’m happy to admit I was wrong. The milk tea here is creamy but not too sweet, the tapioca is fresh, chewy, tender, and well-flavored, and the crepes are delicious. As someone who spent six years in San Francisco where bubble tea places are a dime a dozen, I have drunk a lot of this stuff, and Bubble’ Pop is up there with the best. Tea Menu and Add-Ons: The menu is diverse and includes both cold and hot milk teas in about 6 – 7 flavors. Every tea can be sweetened to taste on order – there’s a chart that lets you choose between 0−100% sweetness in increments of 20%. There’s also non-milky tea options(about 6 – 7, again), and a whole range of flavored bursting boba options that can be put in the non-milky options(blueberry, strawberry, and others I can’t remember). Food Menu: Bubble’ Pop also offers both sweet and savory crepes to order. We bought the banana-and-strawberry crêpe on their Specials Menu and it was delicious! I think it was about $ 4. The pastry was chewy rather than airy and tender, but it’s just what I expected, and it was stuffed with both types of fruit in addition to whipped cream. For a little more, you can have your crêpe with a scoop of ice cream as well. Price and Payment: Teas come in medium or large sizes. The medium costs a respectable $ 3.50 or so. For two medium milk teas with tapioca and a crêpe, we paid $ 13 and change. Note that they ask for a minimum of $ 8 if you’re paying by card. Facilities: The venue is clean, well-lit, well-kept, and brand-spanking new. I didn’t notice any music while we were ordering. Staff and Service: All the employees were friendly and we waited less than 5 minutes for our entire order(two milk teas with tapioca and a crêpe). When it was ready, they called out the contents of our order and we went to the counter, where one of the employees bagged our order and put our teas into a disposable cup-holder, which she stacked atop the crêpe container at the bottom of the bag.(The bags are great, by the way — they’re square-bottomed so perfectly suited to crêpe containers.) We carried it all in the bag about a quarter mile on foot, with no spills. Amenities: wi-fi is free for customers, and there’s bar seating with four stools that face the street. Other than that, there’s no seating inside, and it doesn’t look like there’s a bathroom for customers. For me, this is not a big deal.

My boyfriend noticed the ‘Grand Opening’ sign before I did. We were walking down Village Plaza when we passed by this new bubble tea spot in South Orange Before I knew it, we were inside checking it out. Actually, I wasn’t sure if it was open yet because it was a few minutes after the closed time posted on the door, but there was a customer in there, so we timidly went inside. The girl at the counter was friendly and told us that they were still open. She said the business has been open for about a week. It’s a small space. It’s more like a grab-on-the-go spot(so you can sip on your drink while walking around the village), but there are a few places to sit by the storefront window. I ordered an almond milk tea(B9) and my dude got a taro green tea(B4). There aren’t many places in Essex County where you can get bubble tea, so this place gets a high rating from me. I liked the almond milk tea. It had a good taste and the tapioca was soft and chewy. I’d give it 4.25 stars. My boyfriend gave his taro green tea 4 stars. I’m definitely going to come back to try the other items on the menu. There are sweet crepes, fresh juices, milk teas, smoothies, and hot drinks(like kumquat and lemon tea). There’s also this«ice stick rice» that my boyfriend noticed on the menu board when we were waiting for our drinks. I’m not sure what it is exactly… I guess it looks like he’ll be the one to find out between the two of us! Bubble’ Pop offers something different that South Orange hasn’t had before(at least from what I’ve seen there over the past 5 years or so). It’s cool to try new things, so I would recommend at least checking it out.
