Manuel’s Tailor Shop

I was very pleased with the alterations service I received from Manuel. While his english is not the best, he was very in tune to what I needed done. I was having a bridesmaid dress hemmed, taken in, and straps put on. When I came to try it on for my first fitting, I wasn’t comfortable with one of the straps– but Manuel was very understanding and fixed the issue for me at no additional charge. He was also very prompt and the turn around was quick. I was very pleased with the quality of the alterations given that my dress was a chiffon type fabric. His work is truly superb and the price is very reasonable for the quality of work you are receiving. I will definitely be returning to this tailor shop for future alterations and I would without a doubt recommend Manuel to others.

Manuel took over from Basil’s and is a second generation tailor.
I had him make up a magnificent bedspread and sham pillowcases from old silk curtains, plus some fitted linen (flax) sheets from fabric I found at an estate sale.
Further, I had him repair some wonderful antique European embroidered linen and metis sheets and pillowcases, which had acquired holes (several courtesy of a puppy!).
Everything came out beautifully. His work his excellent and meticulous, and I highly recommend him.
If there is a downside, it’s that his English isn’t very good, but if his son is there, there’s no problem.
