Labcorp

My allergist needed me to get some bloodwork done and this was the closest lab facility to my home, so I made an appointment. The reception area was dark and dingy. Once inside the «lab» section, it looked like a third world makeshift clinic. Between them the receptionist and «technician» have an English vocabulary of about 2 dozen words. The «technician» was wearing the same «sterile» latex gloves to fill out paperwork that most likely she does to perform procedures. (Why else would she be wearing them to do paperwork? Hardly for comfort!)
I was handed two sheets of paper titled Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN) to sign stating that I understood Medicare would not cover the blood tests I was getting and that I would have to pay nearly $ 1100 for them. When I asked why, the two of them (receptionist and technician) managed to convey that the physician hadn’t put down sufficient information.
I took the ABN and headed for my doctor’s office. He said that the lab could have phoned him to get the necessary additional details. (I explained they did not have sufficient language skills to do that.) He gave me a new prescription and I am taking it somewhere else. I would not recommend letting anyone in this facility touch you or your blood.

Awfull place. Dark and dated facility. This place look anything but a lab. Kinda stuck in the 80’s décor. Carpet is torn down and filthy. Loud music whas heard on the background… thought it was from neighbors office but was played in a stereo right here.
Asked the recepcionist about the appearance of the place and she told me they moved in over a year ago and still waiting to be fixed…
If the place look like this I only hope te quality of the work does not match.
My insurance, Humana, should consider other labs instead. Next time I’ll drive farther and look for another place… avoid this one location.

The phlebotomist is great with kids and adults alike!

Very frustrated! I had an appointment and signed in early but was left to wait for forty five minutes while people without appointments were seen first until I complained. I will not be using this location ever again.
