The cleaning people are not to blame, there were only two of them, and they did a great job of cleaning the house. They didn’t leave until 5, we waited for 2 hours to enter the house, after driving hours to arrive. When we did go in there were multiple other surprises that awaited us. The listing says this is a 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath house. This house only has 2.5 bathrooms. This was a huge inconvenience for us as well because there was only one bathroom downstairs to share between 7 people, one being my elderly grandpa. The blinds were broken, so we cannot exit the room to the backyard. We contacted Matthew, the listing agent, he suggested we remove them, and offered no apology. These are blinds to keep the sun out of the room. We tied up one side so we could get out of the room. But the room was lit up before 6am. We didn’t get to sleep in a single morning. The bedroom situation is different than the pictures, what was stated in the listing, and from what Matthew stated in emails. There are not 2 twin beds in the lower bedroom, but 2 bunk beds… My grandfather is 92, he cannot sleep in a bunk bed, especially one that is 5′ long, it’s more like a child’s bunk bed. He is 6’2″. The ad mentions a fooseball table… Please see attached photo. It’s approx a 7“x12″ inch fooseball table topper that is broken and unusable. There were no instructions as to where the Tahoe Keyes amenities were, or how we go about using the facilities. I called last night and Mr. Bryant called back after saying he didn’t know anything about the amenities. We got an email from Matthew later saying the passes were in the kitchen drawer, they weren’t of course. We drove around and found the amenities after 2 days, and figured out how to get the passes. The process wasn’t as either of then said. The listing explained and we missed out on using them for those days. We are still searching for the beach that is 50 yards away. It’s really far away. The kitchen sink has an issue with the dish sprayer. Once you press the button it locks on the spray mode and won’t turn off and return back to faucet mode. There is no game/entertainment room downstairs, there are only the bedrooms. One bedroom has a very old 12×12 tv, that the remote does not change the channels, so you have have to adjust everything on the tv itself. This is not by any means an entertainment room. A few other features to this rental: the sliding glass doors and screen doors don’t slide, they stick. Hanging dead bugs and cobwebs all over the house DVD player doesn’t work in the upstairs living room. And the remote doesn’t work for downstairs bedroom. My brother and his wife had to sleep in the children size bunk beds that were pictured and listed as two twins. My grandfather was going to sleep in one of the twins, but he is 90, 6’2″ and feeble and it was impossible for him to sleep in a bunk bed. So my brother and his wife were left with the bunk beds and left tahoe after the 2nd night due to frustration of all the afore mentioned things and the inconvenience of the sleeping arrangements. I would not rent here ever again. Matthew P. Bryant, the man who rented to us, replied«wah, wah» when we pointed out the cleaners were still in the house at 3, our check out time and that the blinds in the bedroom were broken. He claims he meant to send that to the cleaning people, but it’s pretty clear he made the mistake of sending his response to our complaint to the wrong people. He then whined about refunding us a mere $ 200, which he only did because we requested a refund. He never offered a single apology, instead was defensive and rude after we brought all of this to his attention. My family and I have never had issues like this. The listings have always been accurate. Updates should be made on this listing so it reflects this rental. We hope that other renters won’t experience the same things we have, knowing that it is the opposite of a relaxing paid vacation.
