Jessica has been doing my hair and eyebrows for about 2 years now. I’ve NEVER been disappointed!!! She always hits the shade spot on from what I want. My hair always feels fresh and healthy after a nice trim. She’s also styled my hair for special occasions before and somehow gets a curl to hold! I definitely recommend asking for her! :))

Kathy goes out of her way to accommodate my busy schedule and consistently gives me the best haircut I have ever had!!!

Eryn is truly the best stylist I have ever had. My hair is not easy (dark, thick, and curly). She always does a beautiful job and I only trust her. I have asked her for long, short, edgy, and classy cuts. They all come out perfect! She has been doing my hair for almost 10 years. Every color, whether natural looking, bright purple or red, balayage or highlights, you name it, it’s beautiful. She is truly an artist. You should see her bridal hair and makeup! I live in Sacramento now and still go to see her in Tahoe. I can’t recommend her more!

I’ve been meaning to write this review FOREVER because these gals were so incredible and this is likely the worthiest review I’ve posed on Unilocal!I thought booking hair and makeup appointments for a destination wedding would be fairly simple, but it was anything but until I was able to find Kathy and Salon Be. So many other places were unresponsive, inflexible; one would only book appointments through text message! Kathy was extremely professional and easy to work with from the get go and her team truly added to the experience, just making the morning fun and easy going. Not to mention how much their work EXCEEDED my expectations! Just beautiful and each look fit everyone perfectly. They can do it all!

This review is way overdue! I came to Salon Be with my 3 bridesmaids and my mom the day of my wedding, June 20^th. I can not express how awesome the staff was there and what an amazing job they did on all of our hair and my makeup. We arrived a 1 hour and ½ late due to stopped traffic on the way to the salon… I was super stressed out. They got us in and out in an hour, I still don’t know how they did it. All of the stylist were very friendly and understanding. They offered us mimosas and snacks while we were getting out hair done, very nice touch. I owe you Salon Be! Thanks to them I looked amazing on my big day!

I was very happy with wedding hair an make up by Jessica! I felt absolutely beautiful and it was all because of Jessica! Eryn did my bridesmaids hair and they were all very happy with their hair. They loved her work and both stylists were super friendly and we were all comfortable with them in my room for several hours, easy to work with and took any suggestions we had. I showed Jessica the photos of my hair and she did exactly what i wanted. She also did my engagement photos make up and I was happy with her work so I decided to have her do my wedding as well even though I found cheaper prices for bridal hai r and make up. I was chArged travel fees for each stylist and I thought It was pretty pricey considering they were down the street from my hotel. I was quoted cheaper travel fees for stylists coming from Sac but I liked how Jessica did my make-​up for engagement session and I didn’t want to risk hiring a new stylist.
The only improvement I would have to say about this salon is the communication. From the beginning it was hard to get immediate responses and I would always have to make the effort to get a response. Even the weekend of my wedding I had to contact them to confirm my stylists were still coming because I hadn’t heard from them for a few weeks. Also, the prices were confusing and when it came down to pay the stylists the money was short because I wasn’t clear of the prices, I never got an invoice or final Email saying how much all the services were going to be. I paid for some bridesmaids and had it all totaled with the travel fee and I guessing was short because of tip. I added tip for Jessica and I told the other girls they were responsible for their tip if they wanted to, because last I checked tipping is an option. I paid
$ 100 extra for them to travel to us but wasn’t sure about tipping so I told the girls it was to their discretion. But I felt like they forced the tip on the girls and at the time I was preoccupied with my hair and make up but now looking at it in hindsight I thought that was kind of tacky. They did amazing job and all the girls agreed but that was the only hiccup. I would definitely refer this salon to any bride For her beauty needs! Just get an invoices or somthing with how much all charges will be before your wedding. Because when you have a lot of girls, it could be confusing.

I hired Salon Be to provide an updo & makeup for my wedding day. Jessica was my stylist & did a wonderful job. I didn’t have a very clear idea of what I wanted done with my hair as it’s always hard for me to know what will work with my hair type. I did however have a feathery hair piece I wanted incorporated. Jessica took a lot of pride in ensuring I had a beautiful updo. She gave me lots of beautiful pinned up curls & ensured my hair piece was placed in a location the both looked flattering & would stay put. As for my makeup, I knew I wanted it to be fairly natural looking, but was open to more dramatic eyes. She took my request to heart & kept the makeup light but did well to accentuate my features & blue eyes. I left the salon feeling beautiful & glamorous. As an added bonus, the next day my hair was still nice & curly, so I got 2 days of beautiful hair. I can never get my hair to hold curls, so I don’t know how she did it. I would definitely recommend booking her for your wedding.

I was planning our elopement. I had to rely on Unilocal for finding everything. I was not familiar with the area at all. So going off of Unilocal reviews for such a big day in your life was a little unnerving. But I am so glad I did! I made a appointment for my mother and I. I wanted to be able to have some special mom and daughter time away from everyone else.
I had Kathy and my mother had Jessica. Both were so great. I showed Kathy my Pintrest board and she nailed everything. I had so many compliments.
The salon is damn adorable and the women were so laid back and easy going. I felt as if we were all homies from back in the day. The mimosas were a a nice touch. The cherry on top of the rad sundae. I would highly recommend this salon!

Eryn did a wonderful job on my hair and makeup for my wedding. It’s a little stressful to find a salon for a destination wedding, but my exchanges with Kathy were professional and easy from the very beginning. My entire wedding party was thrilled with the way that they looked.
My style is pretty low-​key and I was so worried about not looking like myself on the day of my wedding. Eryn made me look like me, but better. The airbrushed makeup and fake lashes also helped :) Well worth every dollar.

Another fabulous afternoon at Salon B with Kathy and Jessica! I was so looking forward to my awesome treatment and trim and Kathy sent me out looking like I had a whole head of color done! Love my new fresh look!

Audrey is absolutely amazing. She is very sweet and creative. Audrey did my hair and makeup for both my engagement photos and my wedding. She is all about making sure you love her work and is very receptive to your input. On the day of my wedding we had ten girls getting hair and makeup done and Audrey coordinated additional artist and the schedule to be done on time. Everyone loved her and the girls she brought. If you want to look your very best and have a great wedding morning getting ready I would absolutely recommend calling Audrey.

Worst salon ever!
I was in Tahoe last weekend for a wedding and I made an appointment for a simple blow drying work. I left the salon with my hair so freezy to the point that I had to ask the hair stylish to just stop working on my hair.
I paid for a service that was just poorly done.
This is my first time ever writing a bad report on a salon .
i left a voicemail asking for my money back since I had to do my hair all over again at home. I am still waiting for them to call me back.
Save your money and go to a different salon. Avoid the stress, horrible service and the headache.

These ladies are absolutely amazing! We had an unfortunate situation with another salon in Tahoe, Sessions, and were in a mad dash to find somewhere else that could accommodate five people with just a couple months until my sisters wedding date. I called them and they were able to fit us in at the exact time we needed, and made sure they were prepared for each girls differing hair lengths, textures etc…
Day of we got stuck in traffic for an hour and a half on our way there, and ended up being an hour late to the appointment. My sister of course was a nervous reck, and thought we would lose our spot to do our tardiness. I called the salon, and they said no problem and they would do their best to get us out on time.
When we got to the salon, they immediately sat us down and said «okay ladies, let’s get these girls out of here fast!». They got us in the chairs, handed us mimosas and got to work. Katie did my hair, and it was absolutely wonderful! I told her an idea of what I wanted and told her to take it where she wanted from there, and she did the best undo i’ve ever had!
Not only was each stylist extremely friendly and personable, they are all super talented. All-​in-​all we were only 30 minutes behind schedule, and with the help of a great photographer we were able to get her down the isle right on time!
I can’t say enough good things about Salon Be… I would recommend them to anyone! FABULOUS!

My sister and I being new to the area only just recently moving from Australia we were worried about getting our hair done in the USA. Kathy and Jessica did an awesome job on our hair. My sister and I are really happy with the results. We will be getting our hair done there all the time. Thank you.

I do not usually write reviews, although my experience with everyone at Salon Be has been nothing short of amazing and I wanted to share what a great experience.
Not living in the Tahoe area, I turned to Unilocal to find hair stylists to assist me with my destination wedding. I am not one to ever do my make up, I do not even color my hair. Of course on the most special day of my life I wanted to look great in my photos! Kathy had been amazing start to finish. She would always immediately return my phone calls, was available via text for any questions I had. She made everything so easy for an out of state bride!
The ladies who did the bridal parties hair for the big day were nothing short of amazing themselves. My maid of honor decided she wanted a hair style very similar to what I wanted but I didn’t want to be the ‘bad guy.’ Those girls were on top of it! They were able, in a professional way, to suggest a similar style to what she wanted but it wouldn’t be so close to mine. I didn’t even have to ask, they’ve known enough brides!
My hair was more than I couldn’t even hoped for! When I had my inspiration picture of my wedding hair, I showed my friend, a picture of what I wanted and she said ‘Well don’t be upset if you don’t get exactly what you want, this looks complicated.’ My stylist not only was able to do what I wanted but it looked BETTER than the original inspiration photo I had. Seriously knocked it out of the park and made me feel beautiful on the best day of my life!

I booked a makeup appointment just a few days out from my wedding. They were able to get me in without any problems at the time I wanted and even made time for a last minute add on the night before. Erin did a great job paying attention to what I wanted. She even sent me off with a sample of the lip color she used so I was able to stay fresh all night. These girls are great!

I’m so happy with my cut! Katie my stylist was very familiar with curly hair and was able to give me an amazing cut. I live in Hawaii and the area had made my hair feel and look very brittle and dry. When I left the salon, I felt like a new person! The Salon was very clean and nice, the staff was also very friendly! I had good conversation and really enjoyed myself!

For being not-​so-​picky about my hair, I’m awfully picky about who cuts it.
Let me explain.
I don’t have much hair and it grows REALLY fast. It’s super thin, very fine blond. It gets super weighed down easily. I like cuts that grow out well and don’t require in-​between cut maintenance (read: I don’t like to cut it often so you better make it look as good in two months as it did the day you cut it).
That being said, I like to be whimsical with it. I like fun, spunky hairstyles. I like the change it up. I need a haircut to accompany those expensive jeans I buy. I am a city girl at heart living in a mountain town.
For years, I would get my haircut at once place or another here, be totally underwhelmed, unimpressed or just generally dislike it and then spend the rest of the year flying home to Texas to have my stylist there cut it. Every once in awhile I’d get a hankering to see about a different stylist.
Then I met Holly. Holly had great hair. It always looked awesome. Her stylist was Katie.
Then I met Katie. Katie has great hair. It always looks awesome. She started cutting my hair.
It was a match made in heaven.
Now Holly, one of my best friends, and I both still have our hair cut by Katie (Holly more often than me). And we love it.
You should meet Katie. She’s good at her job and gets my seal of approval.

FABULOUS!!! I cannot say enough good things about Salon Be. The owner, Kathy and her staff were BEYOND fantastic! We were coming to South Lake Tahoe for our wedding. It is stressful enough to trust someone else to do your hair on one of the most important «hair days» of your life. Add placing your locks in the hands of someone you have not even met… you get the picture. Kathy and I made all of the arrangements over the phone. I sent pictures of my wedding party and wish pictures for our hair on the big day via email. THEY NAILED IT!
We had full hair & make up, eyelashes… the works! Not only are they SUPER talented, but amazingly fun!!! They went above and beyond, setting up a great spread for us to snack on during our visit. My girls all had a fantastic time (even the one that didn’t make an appt but showed up last minute!) No sweat… they didn’t skip a beat! I could not be more happy with the results and my choice of hiring Salon Be and the professionals that work there!
If you are looking for a fantastic, fun place to make you look more beautiful… don’t walk, run to Salon Be!!!
