Very bad experience from the store. While I booked online all my gears(providing size, weight, ski level, ski type…) I had to redo the full thing in the store(on one of their computer) and then a 3rd time with their employee to finally get my equipment. They then provided me with a quote which was almost 3 time as much as what I ordered online(despite telling them I wanted exactly the same thing I had online). After checking… they agreed to only increase the price I had online by 20%…I signed this new quote(at that point I really wanted to go skying). Once I came back to the store to return my gear they stated that the employee who provided me with my quote made a mistake and that I needed to pay an additional 15%! So overall a very bad experience due to an extremely bad service and a poorly organized process.

My friend and I needed ski package rentals for 2 days and decided to stop in here to avoid the hassle on the mountains. Glad we did. Manny and other staff members were so helpful getting us the right skis and boots! He took into consideration our specific needs! Very friendly and helpful and couldn’t beat the price. Highly recommend!

This was the worst ski experience of my life. My skis broke and they wouldn’t even give me a refund. Everyone has an attitude and some people didn’t even speak English. The wait was 2 hours for skis and they were so slow and didn’t care about there jobs. Would never reccomdend it. Over priced and not good.

Crappy service. I canceled my contract and walked out. You would figure after two years of no snow that they would be hyped to have customers. They have good prices on accessories.

Have rented here twice this year, but this will be the last time. Returned my snowboard with a small(3 to 4 inches long) scratch in the base(from the spring Conditions at heavenly) and they wanted to charge me $ 60 to repair the scratch. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Horrible service, unfriendly, under staffed. It took 2 ½ wait just for boots. They close early so you can’t return same day and then charge you for a 2nd day. I would not recommend this place or return.

Overpriced. Slow service. Not very friendly staff. Over all I was very turned off by this place. Walked away feeling very ripped off. They charge $ 20 for a helmet for 2 days for my sis. The helmet didn’t fit well so she didnt wear it on day two and lost it. They charge $ 75 for the helmet in addition to the $ 20. The guy had the nerve to say he will lose revenue for the next 2 days totaling $ 20. Such an arrogant, inaccurate thing to say. Didn’t consider the extra days of rental he will get from the brand new helmet or two he will buy with that $ 75.

Needed a quick wax for my board and paid $ 5 for it. Store is on the small side and focuses on rentals. You can find some apparel, but not a large selection.

This place was terrible. I went in to get a heat molding for my ski boot. They told me it would cost $ 75. Why are they trying to rip people off! I went down the street to Elevation 6225; they charged $ 15. Beware of the Heavenly Valley rip off.

Powder House has reasonably priced rentals and is super, SUPER convenient. it’s locating 10 steps away from the Heavenly ski lifts. They have discounts on their webiste and also hand out coupons if you walk by the ski lift area in the morning. We got 2 boots and snowboard rentals, ski pants, and a ski jacket for $ 85. There’s a $ 5 charge to put your stuff in a square locker or $ 10 for a long locker. The store also sells beanies for as low as $ 10, long sleeved Heavenly shirts for $ 15, and sweatshirts for $ 20. Getting our snowboard rentals in the morning was a pretty quick and easy process. Since we already booked online, the whole process took no more than 10 minutes. The employees are set up in a factory line, so there’s someone that makes you sign the contract, someone to give and fit your boots, and someone to give and adjust your snowboard. You pay when you return. Service was really great, minus the gal with an attitude who checked us out at the end of the day.

We were on a family ski trip in South Lake Tahoe and had a wonderful experience here. The staff was kind and attentive. I would definitely recommend Powder House! They were especially kind to my 7 year old son.

Several years ago, I purchased my ski boots at another Powder House, and had it fitted there, too. I went back to get my boots tuned, and was told that they’ve relocated their boot fitting service to this location. Service: 5⁄5 Friendly and knowledgeable, at both Powder Houses. The boot fitting techs really are professionals and will patiently go through the boot fitting process till your feet is completely comfortable in your new and/or old boots. I don’t remember what they charged per adjustments, but I didn’t care, I just wanted to get my boots back into tip top shape, and this was the place to go. Verdict: I live in Los Angeles, and when I am in need of a new boot or fitting, I will make the drive up to get it done here.

They charge extra $ 5 to store your street shoes while you are out for the day skiing with their ski package. Very CHEESY! Every other ski rental shop I have ever done business keeps your street shoes free of charge, usually storing them in the bin that your rented boots came from. There is no sign or warning of this extra charge. They hit you with it after you rented your ski package, booted-up, and are getting ready to leave for the gandola.ride.

I was extremely pleased with what went on at Powder House. Everyone seemed to be extremely knowledgable and enthusiastic about skiing and snowboarding. I will rent here every time I need ski equipment. I also had a friend get his skis tuned, they took them overnight and made them go really fast by the next morning.

I would recommend Powder House to anyone. Being a novice skier I was intimidated by the process of picking out ski’s that fit, getting a demo and quickly getting out on the mountain. The staff was super helpful and extremely patient with my amateur questions and slower pace. The staff even helped me to pick out a new pair of awesome googles that I LOVE! The location is convenient, the staff is warm and very helpful and the price is right. I plan to come back again and again!

Renting skis or snowboards is usually a pretty intimidating thing to do. For us «beginner to intermediates», the«ski and snowboard» dudes can make us feel pretty inadequate. I usually rent at House of Ski up on Kingsbury Grade, but my mobility is a bit more limited for the week so I decided to give Power House a try. This is a very convenient place to rent; they are in the Heavenly Village and the same building as the Marriott Grand Residence. Plus, they are just steps from the gondola. When we came in, everyone was very friendly and immediately helpful. Our snowboard technician, Jerred, to a lot of time to make sure the boards and bindings were properly adjusted and he explained things really well without talking down to us. I definitely recommend this place over most of the other rental places around. Sign up for their mailing list so you can get discounts. Always try to rent your skis or snowboards the night before you are planning to use them. It saves you a lot of time first thing in the morning. On a return rental, we were not able to use the equipment for all continuous days since part of Heavenly was closed. The manager matter-of-factly told me that there were other places we could have gone and thus we had to either return by 9AM or pay for the additional day and then re-rent. While this is «business» it is also bad customer service. I won’t return.
