It’s a gorgeous little lake, especially so when the lily pads are in full bloom. Not really suited for swimming, but nice to hike around(though some bush whacking is required). The parking lot is also the trail head for the fire road /trail up to Glen Alpine, so you may want to get there early to be sure you snag a parking spot. NOTE: The road up to Lily is a very narrow one lane, best suited for SUVs. If you are going to drive up, Google the etiquette of off-roading, four-wheeling or simply the CA State laws for who gets the right of way on a one lane road. Because I swear if I get one more idiot in a mall crawler waiting in the middle of the road for us to back up ten meters when we have the right of way, someone’s getting thrown in the lake.

Even more beautiful when the lily pads are«blooming.» It was a pretty windy day so there was no fishing for DH. We still enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Be warned that you have to cross a smallish dam of rocks to get to the shore. Took a little concentration to maneuver w/a little one in a front pack :)

WOW… like a tiny Alpine lake… rugged rocks and gnarled trees! Best of all… you could drive to it… albeit on a one lane road!
