If you’ve ever had to call for a tow truck, you probably know how stressful if can be! I’ve called my share and worked with too many companies and «towers» to count during my fire service career… yesterday I had the most amazing experience with Emerald Bay Towing that I have ever had!
My Chevy Silverado Duramax decided to «die» and I was able to get it to the side of the highway. From start to finish, the crew at Emeral Bay Towing were fantastic. They kept me updated by phone and arrived far sooner than they initially estimated. The driver, Steven, also called me directly to update me! But wait, that’s not the best part…
When Steve arrived, he was clearly experienced, safe, and quickly came up with some ideas about what the problem might be. Instead of simply reporting I’d need a tow and hooking me up, he spent lots of time trying different solutions and explained what he was thinking throughout. His thorough questions and problem solving led to success but not before he had crawled under the truck three times in slushy snow and mud, to work his magic.
He told me it really bugs him when he can’t correctly diagnose problems and correct the ones he can in the field. That’s a refreshing departure from others I’ve called who simply wanted to «hook and book.»
Emerald Bay has set the bar HIGH in their industry. Thanks Steve… you’re a star!

We cannot say enough about how much we appreciated Steven’s help today. Not only was he highly effective at his job, but he was also very personable.
We called in AAA for a jump start for our cold-​blooded diesel and were fortunate to get a young man that had a very thorough knowledge of what difficulty we were experiencing other than draining our battery trying to get the engine to warm up enough to turn over. Steven had a well educated bag of tricks of his sleeve that got us running.
If you are in need of some roadside assistance, I hope Steven shows up earlier than estimated with his professional knowledge and chipper disposition like he did for us!

We came down to tahoe for our anniversary and our fuel pump went out and we were stuck 18 miles to Tahoe. AAA sent us the dopest tow truck driver I have ever met he was so friendly and even took us to oreillys to get a new fuel pump. Made what could have been a terrible start to our weekend way better. Even saw him on the way out. Great guy.

My R8 blew a tire coming into SLT. CJ showed up shortly after I called with a smile and knew exactly how to load the low profile super car and did so with great care.
Breaking down sucks but these guys will ease the pain and take good care of your vehicle.

Our car broke down at Emerald Bay in the evening. AAA sent Emerald Bay Towing to help. These guys (especially Butch Wetenkamp) are great! They showed up at the site promptly, explained various options to get our car fixed while getting us to our Tahoe cabin, and called a taxi to send us on our way. Best of all, since it was already dark, Butch stayed with us until the taxi arrived and we were safely on our way. Thanks, Butch!

These guys are rad. We found ourselves in a bind with no car key (it’s in the lake somewhere…) and a friendly driver showed up in no time. He took us to the dealership to get a new key made and was sure to get us in there before they closed for the night. Super helpful and carried on a great conversation during the trip to the dealer. If you’re in need of a tow, call the guys in yellow!

My daughter slid off the icy road, it was an older car, front end hit a post.
radiator shot, fan went into engine. Car totaled. My daughter and her boy friend came up for a weekend getaway. The AAA driver (Matt Silveira,) not only towed the car, but went the extra mile to drop off my daughter at the hotel she rented for the weekend. That’s not all– He let her know, if she wanted to come to the yard to pick up remaining personal items, that she can do this before she leaves for the Bay Area. Do you believe-​she went to the yard on a Sunday and they were open. Not only that, The crew at Emerald Bay Towing, not only let us take the new battery we just installed in the car, but they removed it themselves and placed it in my trunk.
My daughter and her boyfriend was still able to have a terrific weekend at South Lake Tahoe because of the very personal assistance of Matt & The crew at Emerald Bay Towing.

John was super awesome and saved my vacation.
Here’s the story: My car broke down in the parking lot of the hotel the morning of our first day in Tahoe. The AAA man couldn’t get it started and said I needed a tow, but all the shops were closed on the weekend. I called AAA and upgraded my membership so they could tow me back home, but it takes 48hours for the new membership to kick in. 48 hours later, at the end of a Tuesday (Monday was Labor Day), AAA got me in touch with John for the tow 200 miles home. Unfortunately Burning Man had just ended and Emerald Bay was swamped, so I couldnt get the tow home.
Here’s where John saved the day. He stayed on the phone with me and helped me go through all my options. Rental car? Everyone is closed by 5pm. Bus to rental car service in Reno? Next one didnt leave for hours — and talk about super inconvenient. SO, John set us up with another towing company and it all worked out great!
He could have not helped us and just kicked the can down the road like AAA did (even longer story), but went out of his way and got us exactly what we needed. Talk about customer service man.

Came out from Harvey’s to find that my car was Dead. Nothing… called AAA. Said someone would be out in an hour. Steven called about an hour later and said he was on his way from Zephyr Cove, no problem, had no where to be. He arrived and tried to jump the car, nothing. He thought I needed a starter, What? More tweaking with the clamps, nothing, then finally a connection and the car started! I was so relieved. I drove the car out of the parking structure and parked in the lot where Steven continued to try and identify the problem. He found dirty, corroded terminals and loose connections to the battery. He took his time carefully cleaning with a wire brush and was very thorough. He also checked my oil and all my fluid levels. Couldn’t have had better service and experience. Super nice guy who loves to help people. Steven gets a AAA!

GREAT and QUICK service! Matt came out yesterday to help my guest – the battery was dead but the cables were corroded onto the battery. He was super friendly and got the job done fast. The best thing is that yes they could have sold us a battery but recommended us to go back to auto parts store to save some money. Most businesses don’t do that, really appreciate the tip. I will always use them for any towing needs that comes up in the future!

I just had my car battery replaced by Emerald Bay Towing, through the AAA membership. It was a great service! Mark D. was the one who came out to the house. He was here within 10 minutes of my call. He was very friendly, fast, knowledgeable and did a great job replacing and cleaning all the corrosion left by my old battery. AAA has a great deal on car batteries, with a great warranty. I highly recommend this service.
