The Wild Rose

What a wonderful delight and addition to the South Jordan area!
We dined in with a group of 7 and the food and service were on point.
Our favorite dishes were the clam appetizer (delicious clams in a rich white wine sauce with sausages) and the ribeye (perfectly cooked with mushrooms and bacon with a flavorful but not overpowering Demi glacé).
Our party also got the ceasar salad (good but I wished the salad was chilled/​colder), pork chop (excellent flavor, but slightly over cooked), chicken (moist and flavorful), and the paperdelle mushroom pasta with salmon (slightly bland). The mint infused lemonade was also fresh and refreshing.
5 stars for service, the manager was so nice and accommodating to our toddler and even offered some grapes and cheese for her to snack on. It definitely kept her occupied and happy while we enjoyed our dinner.
We cannot wait to come back and try their brunch as well. Great job, Wild Rose!

Amazing Mahi Mahi and Lamb dishes. My wife loved the house salad. We dine a lot around here… we like certain things about market street grill, tsunami, etc but this place… wow. The whole experience was intimate «Fine Dining.» Service was very classy, food presentation and taste exceptional, and setting was great (not packed in like sardines!). We left with my wife saying «that was the best dining experience we’ve had in the past year.» We’ll be back.

I was a little skeptical coming here for brunch because of the reviews, but I wanted my boyfriend and I to try out a new restaurant for Valentine’s day. This place was perfect! The aesthetic was classy, and the area of the restaurant we were seated in was intimate and quiet. We got croissants as an appetizer (which came with two types of preserves and very yummy pecan butter), and for entrees we got the Wild Salad and the Wild Rose omelet. The entrees were the perfect portion, and we both left satisfied. All three of these items were delicious, and we are totally coming back here again!

I came her with the wife for weekend brunch and so glad we did. I had the wild rose omelet and my wife the french toast and we shared. Our dishes were amazing. I would have licked the plate if I wasnt in such a classy place. The food, service and presentation was top notch. Prices are a little high but at the end of the meal, neither of us complained.

I wanted to love the Wild Rose. I was excited by the thought of an upscale eatery near my house. I wanted a South Jordan version of Pago or Copper Onion. While I’m sure the Wild Rose would love to be considered in the same league, the place just doesn’t quite measure up.
First of all, the location is all wrong. Normally this isn’t an issue for me, but for an expensive gourmet meal, I expect the ambiance to feel special. The Wild Rose is in the District shopping center, and you can watch people in workout clothes heading to the gym out the window while you eat or tweens heading to Clair’s to get their ears pierced. It doesn’t feel special at all. They try to give the inside a spare, modern feel, but there’s no –there– there.
I would be willing to forgive the location if the food was exceptional. Don’t get me wrong. The food was good, but it was just that, «good.» There was no eye rolling in gastronomic ectasy or discovery of new favors. There was no eager exclamations of, «you have to try this!»
The problem here was the disconnect between what this place wants to be, and what it is. If the prices and pretension were both taken down a notch, I might be enticed to return, but as it stands, if I’m going to spend $ 20 – 40 a plate, I’ll make the effort to drive somewhere exceptional.

Possibly, we had a one off experience. I dine in a lot of amazing restaurants, I will describe this as «reaching» — 5 Star Prices, 1 Star service, 2 star food at best.
The server first dumped an entire glass of water all over one of our guests saturating his menu and half of the table. The Caesar salad was not flavorful and marginal, I did not finish it. The other salad they serve that comes with the bacon had hardly any dressing on it, two guests did not finish them. I was served a mushroom pasta dish with shrimp and the pasta presentation was not cooked properly, it was all lumped together in a ball without any separation between the noodles. We asked the waitress for a side of butter which she did not bring for at least 10 minutes and then she also did not bring other items requested such as orange slices. She even admitted that she was not on point that evening.
with service that bad they didn’t not comp any items except for one beverage and we had a bill of over $ 280. We’ve decided we’re not coming back — ever. There are other options that are much better… they should have taken 50% off the bill.

We come here a lot. Most the time the food is great! But the last 2 times I ordered the scampi I couldn’t eat it. All I could taste was the alcohol. I had to send it back. Even the tomatoes were bitter. I will stick to the beef.

Everything was great. Loved the pork belly appetizer, the Mahi Mahi was great, We had cheesecake and crème brûlée and both were exceptional. Will definitely be back!

The service is terrible. The ‘manager’ was serving us. She was rude, slow with service and after their credit card machine went down, was completely unapologetic. At one point we asked for ranch dressing and she went as far to LAUGH at us and say «This isn’t apple bees».
The food is AMAZING, however. If you just avoid the people that work there.

A strong four stars. We’ve eaten here several times and it’s been great each time. So good! And good service. The ambience is cool but could be better.

This is a beautiful quiet little restaurant in the middle of the hectic busy District. We’ve eaten here twice and both times our food was fantastic. Obviously a lot of care is taken in how and what is served here. Fancy high end food. A little more expensive than your run of the mill Applebees, but well worth it for great food and great atmosphere.

The Wild Rose is one of my favorite place to go for a fancy dinner. It’s quite elegant and delightful and they have a great selection of wine. I highly recommend their pork belly appetizer; it was amazing, that was my first time seeing pork belly in a fancy restaurant. Their apple green sorbet to cleanse your pallet is so tasty you will want more, lol. They have a wide variety of food selection, I highly recommend their tri tip steak and salmon dishes and they have the best mash potatoes, hands down! This place is in a great area, you can shop, watch a movie and experience this amazing restaurant.

I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was so terrible! The shrimp was so tough that I couldn’t cute it with a steak knife. The sauce had way too much sherry which made it super bitter.
My husband steak was good. It was tendered and tasty. The place is clean and romantic. There is also outside sitting.

First time here, great service and the salad was great. I ordered the rib eyes great flavor and taste of the rib eye. My girlfriend had the salmon which was great. Love the place great food the price here starts $ 20 to 40.

Let me start off by saying the customer service here is amazing! The hostess and server made us feel welcomed instantly. We started off with the pork belly and it was so delicious! The meat was so tender and it had a lot of flavor. My friend ordered the ribeye and enjoyed it very much. I ordered the Hawaiian mahi mahi and it was pretty good. The yams that comes with it was yummy.

I really would give this place 3 ½ stars if possible, it had some really great food and then some just mediocre. For starters the spread for the bread is amazing I wanted to just eat that alone, and the wedge salad was great, huge portion could easily be shared. I ordered the pepper steak and it came with diced potatoes and a steamed vegtable, my steak was hard to choke down, it was very overcooked and way to much pepper, I didn’t care for the brandy sauce either, potatoes we’re just meh no seasoning at all. My husband had the filet and his was melt in your mouth amazing, I think I just got the wrong thing. The ambiance is nice and relaxing if your not in a huge rush to eat this Is a great place for a romantic evening.

I don’t dine out to fancy places often, so The Wild Rose was quite the experience for me. I liked the whole entire display while I was walking to my table. We went out here for a family members birthday. There was also a great half off Groupon deal we were able to use.
I started off with a delicious cup of Riesling, it went great with my food. Of course, we started off with the bread that comes right away. This was AMAZING. The butter reminded me a little of a balsamic vinaigrette flavor. Nothing like I’ve ever had before and I really enjoyed it.
I tried a piece of the Pork Belly appetizer which was very tasty. I had the House Salad which came with Pecans, apples, cheese, and a vinaigrette dressing. This was okay, I’m not sure I would order it again. After our salads, we were presented with a green apple sorbet to cleanse the pallet. I’ve never had anything like this before but it was delicious and really prepared me for my entrée.
For the main course, I went with the daily special which was a roasted chicken in Marsala sauce, topped with oyster mushrooms, side of veggies, and mashed potatoes.
It was very presentable and had lots of flavor. Chicken is often a difficult choice for me since I worry about it being too dry but this had the perfect amount of moisture. Though I would have to say the mashed potatoes were my favorite part. Best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had, hands down.
I would definitely come back to try the other dishes. Great service and atmosphere though a little pricey.

The Wild Rose does it right on al fronts. I really didn’t know what to expect here given that I bought a Groupon months back. It was a great move on my part. I finally ate here last Saturday and it truly was fantastic. Very calm on the inside and not too large. Once inside you’d never know you’re in a strip mall.
On to the food! Ordered the pork belly appetizer. I don’t know what they made it with but it was amazing. Usually I don’t review bread, but the butter tasted like the garden herb variety with what I assumed to be brown sugar because it tasted mildly sweet. It was fantastic to have with the pork belly.
While I waited for my New York steak to come out, I was given a sour apple sorbet palate cleanser and would not have minded to have much more it for dessert. Light and sweet.
My NY steak was cooked to perfection. Served with their house brandy sauce, mashed potatoes and vegetables this was one of the better steaks I’ve had. The steak itself was dusted with black pepper giving each taste a good kick. 13 ounces of goodness all eaten in one sitting.
The prices here are on the higher side, but I believe that you get what you pay for. I had great, attentive service, excellent food, and a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy all it. It’s definitely worth another visit.
