Visited Venezia Pizza on Friday 6−17−16 for lunch. Chris was our server and she was superb. My wife and I shared an Hawaiian Pizza. I am not a big fan of thin crust pizza but this one was excellent! Also we sat on the covered porch and outside the open window was able to watch a pair of birds feed their young. So lunch and a show! It was so good we returned Saturday for takeout pizza for a family gathering. Again-excellent.

Went to Venenzia Pizza in South Haven Mi for lunch this past Saturday. We were cheerfully greeted at the door and seated immediately! Beverages were served right away & orders were taken. We had a group of eight people & ordered a meat eaters pizza, a Greek pizza, and an Italian beef sandwich! We all shared the pizzas & sandwich. All the food was excellent and served in a timely manner! The owners visited our tables to make sure we were pleased with our experience at the restaurant, which, of course we were! I would highly recommend this restaurant as our visit has convinced us to return very soon!

My boyfriend and I stayed outside of south haven to go snowboarding near by. We decided to spend the rest of the time in the town of south haven and try some different places out. We made our way to this little, cute restaurant. The atmosphere: it’s not the most beautiful place however, it’s really cozy and clean. There were not a lot of people there(it was extremely cold outside as well, so that might have had something to do with it and being that they said it is more crowded in the summer to be in south haven). The food: my boyfriend is 100% Italian so for him he didn’t think the best of his combo beef and sausage sandwich. He thought it was subpar compared to ones he has had before. He used a lot of the dipping sauce but even that for the both of us was very plain. I got the beef sandwich. I thought it was okay but didn’t have much flavor to it. I used the peppers they had which gave it some flavor but it wasn’t enough to give it the best taste. The price: for what we ordered it seemed pretty expensive for two sandwiches and two pops(almost 30 $) without tip. The employees: there were two people working when we were there. The waitress was extremely nice. She never was rude about anything. And the cook which we didn’t see much of besides for when we arrived and they both had to go back to work. I wouldn’t completely take this off the list for the fact that I didn’t try the pizza but I didn’t think there was much to the sandwiches we ordered. Not flavorful at all.

I usually seek out hole in the wall types of establishments because the food is often excellent compared to the ambience. In this case — not true. The surroundings were a bit dirty and old and everything seemed to be old and tired. I really wanted to like Venezia. We had a large group of adults and kids. We had a selection of salads — typical iceberg lettuce salads — and pizzas. We had the Venezia special, BBQ chicken and sausage/pepperoni for the kids. The pizzas came out hot and the toppings were pretty good. Unfortunately the crust was terrible. It was one of those pre made perfectly round pizza crusts that you get at the store. I know because the cook held it up when we asked how big the pizzas were. It was like eating cardboard. I could barely get a knife through it. I am not sure if they have ever made their own crust but it seems like it should be a prerequisite when you’re a pizza joint. If you’re not making your own pizza crust then what are you doing? Our waitress was very friendly and she did a great job taking care of us.

Ordered a meatball sub, young lady on the phone said«Italian» I said yes assuming she was referring to the meatballs. I went to pick it up(didn’t check it my fault) was surprised it was $ 11.00, got home opened it and all I saw was iceberg lettuce and a few pieces of tomato, dug around looking for meatball and found 2 very thin pieces of unidentifiable meat. Realized she ordered a Italian sub, which would of been ok but strange meat was like spam. I’m a local not a tourist so I try to keep $$ down town. I try this place at least one time a season and have been dissatisfied every time. Years ago it was good with quality food, now it’s just bad.

Crispy crust, friendly waiters. Wouldn’t recommend the Greek Pizza – it was good but nothing special. Place is a little run down looking but the food is great.

service and food sucks. The pasta was too salty and portions were too small… will never go again or recommend to anyone.

I don’t even know where to start on this place. I would give them 0 stars if I could for customer service. We went here because every other place in town was filled to capacity and we would have an hour + wait. We walked in, got a table right away(the whole outdoor area was open and there were 3 empty tables inside.). As a side note, there was a manager lady standing at the counter the whole time looking around and 3 waitresses working a restaurant that has maybe 15 tables We sat down and got situated and ordered right away after she brought our drinks. We ordered a salad and a pizza… easy enough… ORNOT! We got the salad and it was good then came the wait… with no waitress coming to see if we needed drinks refilled or let us know when our pizza would be ready. After ONEHOUROFWAITINGWITHNOUPDATEORDRINKREFILL, my husband went to inquire on our order. THEYHADNOTEVENSTARTEDIT! Wait… WHAT??? We paid for the salad and the drinks we ordered and promptly left. We were the second ones to do so and there was another couple behind us getting ready to do the same thing… and they arrived a half hour after we did(no one even brought them a menu. they had to go in themselves and get one) Do yourself a favor, do not go here, especially if you have a toddler or kids because it might hit meltdown stage before someone will update you on your food order

I’m not usually a fan of thin crust pizza or Hawaiin pizza for that matter but the Hawaiian pizza we ordered was so good! The pizza is not the cheapest pizza around but the price is comparable to other specialty pizza places. The pizza was definitely worth it!

I do not understand the negatives. The waitress was personable, friendly, attentive, and prompt. The Caesar salad was plentiful with crisp romaine and plenty of crusty croutons. The pepperoni pizza had just the right crisp crust and there was no skimping on the pepperoni. I will return.

This is a very basic pizza joint with very basic pizza(dough, toppings, cheese). It’s okay. If you eat here, ask for extra sauce.

Unassuming from the street, venezia’s is old school charming inside. With a friendly attentive staff and a nice pizza selection, this was a welcome break for lunch from the sun and sand of the beach. We each had a side salad and shared a pesto pizza. The salads were fresh, and the pizza had a subtle pesto flavor, just right for a summer day. Would definitely come back!

This place isn’t an eye catcher from the outside but we were curious so we went in and ordered a pizza, the crust was just perfect, they obviously know what there doing. Best pizza I’ve had in a very long time !

I don’t know what has happened to this place, but the food(and service) has gone downhil… CONSIDERABLY. We travel in every other year to attend the Blueberry Festival. Two years ago the pizza was good and the salads very decent. This time I added a salad(after 10 minutes the waiter bought me iceberg lettuce, three slim slivers of what looked like tomato and a glob of shredded mozzarella cheese on top. It was suspicious looking enough that I decided NOT to risk it and did not eat the salad. The pizza was the worst I’ve EVER had in my life(no exaggeration). The crust is thin and VERY hard(at one point I thought I was crunching into cardboard.) The pepperoni was decent. The waiter was a teenage boy who clearly didn’t want to be there.(What teen wants to be working on a Friday night, but stilll…) The place is run down and dirty now. Sadly, this used to be our pizza place when we first got into town. No more. Hopefully they get their act together.

Take out pizza on a moderately busy August Sunday night in beautiful South Haven. Kristin’s review reflects the same as my experience. Crust is thin but odd in that it is not crispy; I’d guess pre-made. The sauce had a smoky, unpleasant taste to it; different than any other I have had. Bad enough that I had to throw away the leftovers, and that rarely happens. Cheaper than others; I got what I paid for(and less).

There aren’t many options for pizza in these parts. We wanted to try something local, rather than a chain while we were in SH for the weekend. We carried out 2 pizzas for dinner. It is definitely different from any other pizza I have had. Super thin crust that was actually difficult to cut through it with a fork and knife. The toppings were decent and the taste was alright. But that is about as high as the praise will go. It was ALRIGHT. Not awful, but certainly not great. So we tried something local and unfortunately it wasn’t anything special. We will look for something else next time we are in town.

Awful… just awful. Was hoping that this was going to be a neat little hole in the wall. It was a hole, alright. When we got there, it was not very busy and there were three waitresses hanging around ready to take our order. So we ordered, I got the italian sausage combo with italian beef and my wife got a caesar salad. And we waited… and waited… then some more… Finally nearly 25 minutes later… a dried up cigar of a sausage shows up with some weak slices of beef. The salad was nothing to even waste time typing about it. Didn’t waste our time on on the pizza. Oh… and the bathroom was nasty too.
