Took the family out for an early Valentine’s dinner last night. We like the Yard Tavern especially being in town. Last night their specials were over the top in presentation and pure enjoyment. The Veal Saltimbuca special was incredible and the best I have ever had. We also got the Blackened Scallops special just as good. The kids enjoyed the home made Mac n Cheese always so good and not orange out of the box. The selection of Craft Beers was also enjoyed with a couple new local breweries on tap.

We’ve been here several times over the last couple of years and have always been pleased. Last night’s dinner was outstanding! I had the seafood pasta and couldn’t believe the volume of lobster and scallops — way more than I’ve ever gotten in Maine or the Cape. A nice light sauce that let the flavor come through. My wife got the steak tips and had nothing but positive things to say. Even on a busy Saturday night the service was great; a nice plus that the chef stopped by to say hello. Highly recommend!

Great service at the bar & tables! Music on Thursdays & Friday’s. Lots of Beers on tap! Food is great and they often have«seasonal» menus they always try to meet dietary need. Also, desserts by «Natalie» YUM!

This place knows what it is and does it well enough for me to come back to eat and listen to some live music. The food isn’t terrific but it is good pub grub.

Lovely place with a great menu. I had the Lobster BLT… fantastic sandwich! Only downside is that the road is a bit busy for enjoying the outside seating.

Went to the Yard Tavern in South Hadley today to watch my daughter become engaged! Cannot rave enough about how fantastic the staff was. Working with Marco the GM was the easiest experience. He was calm, reassuring, professional, responsive. He made great suggestions. Walked us through how it should happen. Was patient with our barrage of emails. Was courteous with my boisterous family. Every meal was delicious. Not a single complaint! It was a fantastic experience. Ordered flowers from afar to be sure we had a piece of my mom there. So very happy with the experience. This will be my new favorite place!

Finally tried this place after 8 years and was blown away. We tried a lot off their special summer menu: Crabcakes and Brussel sprouts to start. Both generous and delicious. Then fried salmon tacos(bursting with flavor thanks to fresh cilantro and a light Crème sauce, and a Cape Cod Reuben(fried fish, cheddar, and coleslaw on marble rye — so yummy! Fries are good and sweet potato fries even better. Great drinks too; tried a watermelon mule that was refreshing and not too sweet! Great atmosphere too(bring a sweater) and situated across from lovely Mount Holyoke College. Will be back soon.

My wife and I moved down the street from this restaurant about 4 months ago. Since then we’ve been here about 4 – 5 and we love it! Every meal we’ve gotten has been tasty with generous portions. My wife loves their salads and I love the Reuben. You can tell everything is prepared fresh. Not to mention they have a great outdoor seating area and BBC plus a lot of great other beers on tap. Never had bad service either. Maybe we have been extraordinarily lucky but I have no idea what people are complaining about.

One of the last spots I tried out in the Hadley Commons area. BOY was it HORRIBLE! I ordered a salad(Chop salad for $ 9 with no meat!) and received some of the oldest veggies I’ve ever seen. Brown lettuce, slimy cucumbers, and I actually threw up in a napkin from just one bite of the tomatoes. The olives were typical canned olives, but they tasted sour like they had been sitting in the same x-lg can for months. The chickpeas were so old the shells had come off. My dad ordered a salad and also couldnt even eat it because it was so old and smelled foul. He also got clam chowder, which was definitely out of a can and watered down. Disgusting! I was sick for the rest of the day after just a few bites of their old veggies. I’ve heard really bad things about this place from family and MHC coworkers, but I felt compelled to give them a shot. Never, ever, ever again!

Disappointing. First we ordered lunch with only a table of four ahead of us, a table of 2 was getting ready to leave. We waited 45 min for lunch to come. My partner ordered nachos. Her nachos were burned all over the top. The waitress who was rarely in the room never came to check on how the food was. My chicken tenders were overlooked and warm at best. Better go somewhere else!

This was my first dining experience at the Yarde. I kept hearing do much about the buff chix salad. I was certain it could not live up to the hype. I was wrong. It was amazing. And Huge. I would though recommend asking for the dressing on the side. My friends shared the mango chix quesadilla. They loved it!(And I was tempted to try it ;))

I’ve been here a few times, I actually lived right next to it for a while and the smells coming from it always tempted me in. The first time I went I got a salad to go and asked them to hold a few things. I got the salad ran off to a meeting and found none of the things held. Eh it’s not a huge deal but it was a bit of a disappointment. Next time I went an got mussels as an app and some entre probably steak? Anyways steak was good but mussels were gritty and I kept having chomping sounds from biting down on them(the meat of course not the shell) which I think indicates either they’re coming from somewhere bad or they aren’t being washed or both???) I love mussels and I’ve never had this be an issue. It was like there were bits of egg shell or sand in my mussels. I mentioned it to the waitress who gave me an «eh» look and said maybe they could comp it. I said that’s fine and expected her to remove it from the bill. I had only eaten 3 or so mussels. I got the bill and guess what, it wasn’t comped. I didn’t really have the patience to argue so I just paid and left. I’ve been back a few times and the food is decent but I think there is a serious communication problem going on in the kitchen. I also think that the seafood may not be washed? I’m unsure about that but I don’t think it’s a good sign.

Apps, burger and tacos well prepared. Perfectly executed Manhattan. Original server went MIA had to flag down the hostess to have our food order taken. Bartender took food order, then she went MIA. Had to go to the bar to get another beer from a third server. Fourth server brought the food. First server reappeared with the check. Third time in my life I left $ 0 tip. As a former restaurant owner I was appalled at the lack of service.

Right in the heart of Mount Holyoke College and the Village Commons. Great experience and atmosphere. The outdoor patio was great for a spontaneous summer lunch. One sides décor is crafty but elegant, while the other has tables with umbrellas for more a bar feel. I started off with strawberry mojito! Yum! I ordered the steak salad with was tasty with the Poppy Vinaigrette. My man ordered the chipolte Mac and cheese and it smelt amazing. I wish I had gotten it, it had bacon and tomatoes and it was oven baked. The dessert was a surprise, it was Atkin farm donuts deep fried then with a delightful scoop of vanilla ice cream with caramel drizzle. DROOL. We will definitely be back and bring our friends! I bet it’s beautiful lit up outside on a warm summer night.

Well — this is one of those examples of why you should read the Unilocal reviews. We should have seen some of this coming. We had a pastrami sandwich and Crazy Alfredo. Pastrami was lean. That wasn’t what we were hoping for but it wasn’t bad. The Alfredo had a taste that was off putting to me. I think it was the amount of parmesan. I told my server and she and the manager(?) graciously took the item off the dinner check. Service was good and thats why I am using two stars — but cleanliness??? While a couple of flies could be explained away by the fact that the door to the porch was opened frequently — that doesn’t explain the fruit flies at our table. Yes, flies AND fruit flies. Maybe we will be back — but probably not until future reviews indicate improvements.

Reliable, good food– fantastic mac & cheese. Some items are pricey but the food quality is consistently good and the portions are generous. The service is kinda quiet but the waitresses have always been kind & agreeable– just a bit distant. Bar is nice, clean & rustic– this is a cute restaurant in a quiet town. Overall ambiance is relaxed & warm, it is worth a visit or two! It seems like a fun place to watch a couple games, go on a date and/or unwind with some friends! A great change from the standard college fare in the area. :) My personal favorite items are the mac & cheese and the buffalo chicken salad! Yum!

The place appears to be better than it is. I have been there at least a dozen times and the only thing I feel is worth my money it the Meatloaf. I would still recommend going especially on warm dusk’s and nights to sit outside have a drink and an appetizer. I most also remark that one night I was there was a night they were helping fund raise by letting teachers from the neighboring high school waitress and make tips for donations to the recent hurricane damage.

Well, a pleasant surprise Sunday afternoon 3÷3÷13, heading home from Amherst with too much Atkins Fudge in car… Yarde house became the choice for dinner. Good choice of Beers on tap nice. not too big but different Mozzarella with the balsamic glaze what a combo, different but very good Menu was pretty much what you would expect with a name like Food and Spirits, Execution was right on, Burger Rare. yep Burger Rare(not raw) cheese melted over the bacon the way it is suppose to be, the cole slaw very good. The pastrami sandwich was quite thick IE not under portioned, just hit the spot, French Fries nothing special, except cooked correctly, and hot with just a hint of salt, thanks, over all right timing, right price, in the right restaurant, we will stop again.
