Horrible food, horrible service. Keep driving by it, don’t waste your time or money. There are better options.

I really didn’t expect to find many restaurants open on Memorial Day, so I was happy to find Fitzgerald’s was. I sat at the bar which I must say was beautifully done, made of solid pine plank, urethaned, shiney and nicely maintained. This is a sports bar so there were 9 T. V’s in the bar area, plenty to watch simultaneous sports casts. I ordered Mexican Chowder and a Ruben, the chowder was excellent more of a rose cream based corn, bean and cheese mix, it was quite a surprise, very tasty. The Ruben was perfect as you would expect from an Irish owned venue, the fries are made in house and were cooked crispy, the way I like. If you happen to be passing through this would be a good spot to stop for some some solid pub grub and if you happen in on a Monday night 5cent wings. It doesn’t get much better than that!

My wife and I came here for dinner and ended up getting the last table available since there was a decent crowd in there… usually a good sign. The waitresses were very friendly and attractive. I ordered a sausage and pepper sub with sweet potatoe fries and it was very good. Not the best I’ve ever had but above average. My wife had an alfredo style pasta dish which was huge but she didn’t really like it all that much. I however took her leftovers for lunch the next day and I enjoyed it very much. I was orginally going to order steak here since it is supposed to be a steakhouse but after I walked in, I just didn’t get the vibe that this was the kind of place I’d order steak from. It looks more like a diner on the inside than a steakhouse. Several other customers at other tables did order steaks though and they looked decent and most people were apparently pleased with their meals so I will probably give their steak a shot next time we go there. Another obsevation that may be of interest to other folks that haven’t been here… there are TV’s over nearly every booth and table in the place too and all were set to sports channels… all to various basketball games while we were there. So it is definitely more of a sports bar diner feel with very little evidence of being an irish pub or steakhouse. So overall, the food was decent, the atmosphere was a little lacking and the service was good.

Negatives: Dark. Confused setting. Strange layout. Uncoordinated staff. Positives: The food was fair, I had a hot pastrami on rye with steak fries. Modest prices. I would go again despite the 1-star comments. When it comes down to it, it was better than a fast food joint. This place is in need of a makeover and a menu standardization. I didn’t really get ‘Irish pub’ from the interior, more faux-Irish.
