This is my second time coming here, and my second time being disappointed. First time I tried the«Esquites,» and it tasted it like nasty can corn. Also the cashier takes about 10mins to charge for two simple items. Today I ordered«Tostilocos» & it literally had 4 pieces of two different fruits, & the portion was super small!!! Such a RIPOFF. Do NOT recommend. I’m just giving it one star because it’s required in order for my comment to post…

Fruit juices are really bad. They dont have a juicer. They make them in a blender and they taste horrible. Never going back.

I would not recommend this place at all! All the food tasted if it was from a can. The silverware we got was dirty. The servers attitude was very off putting, seemed like we were annoying her, guessing it was due to the way we were dressed. I only say this because the server was really attentive to other guests who came in, who were fully made-up. It took them 10 mins to tell me my bill was in the front to pay after the fact I asked for a manager. I continued to ask for a manager and it was useless because the employees there did not seem to care how our service was at all. All I was told was there was no manager, than someone was the manager and all they can say they were sorry while eating an popsicle in my face. Maybe I should have checked the reviews before I came into to this nightmare! This place deserve to be shut down. If I could I would give this place a negative 5 stars!

Awfully disappointed. Do not come here. We came here for Valentine’s Day eating out. The place is very spacious but very unorganized. I start flipping through the menu and a waiter comes and tells us that they don’t have anything on that menu today. All they had was seafood. I had already decided what I wanted and to be told they didn’t have anything was really annoying. I would’ve walked out right then and there but I was with my family and they weren’t going anywhere. I opted for camarones a la diabla. Their prices are a huge RIP off. It didn’t take very long to bring my shrimp. But when it came, the servings of beans and shrimp were unreasonably small. The shrimp weren’t clean, stringed poop in every shrimp. I ordered dessert and it took 45 minutes to bring me a chocolate churro and a biónico. They brought me a caramel churro and the biónico. I literally fell asleep waiting for my dessert to come. Yes, they’re friendly but service is horrible. Do not come here.

I had high hopes for this place and was very disappointed when I got my order. I ordered tamales and they were really small and not very tasteful I have posted a picture of them I also ordered a fresh juice and it did not take that fresh. I also did not see them squeeze the orange juice that I asked for so I can not say that it was fresh because it did not taste so. Maybe I will go back and try something else but I do not recommend getting tamales

We live a few cities away and stumbled upon this restaurant after visiting the nearby movie theater. The food gets four stars. They had a huge selection, very reasonable prices, and quick service. The staff gets five stars. Staff was attentive and kind, even with a slight language barrier. The overall review is four stars because the ambience was lacking and the service model is confusing. It’s part store, part restaurant, and part juice bar but we weren’t sure what was open or closed. If it weren’t for the kind staff directing us where to sit when we poked our heads in, we would have walked out. This is a newer establishment that will be successful as they iron out a few wrinkles.

Omg such a great place, love love their food. Can’t believe I’ve been depriving myself of all this delicious food. Had the popusas(salvadorian) & huaraches(mexican) & they were both equally delicious. They have everything in this place, deli, butcher, mexican, Salvadorian, all sorts of Hispanic dishes, bionicos, bakery. U name it, they most likely have it.

We wanted a snack prior to entering our movie showing at the Edwards Movie Theatre in South Gate, Ca located inside the El Paseo Shopping Center. We heard some good music coming from La Mejor Deli & Market. We decided to enter and try some of the natural juices, tacos and other antojitos Mexicanos. La Mejor’s set-up reminds me of a mercadito en Mexico. Indoor seating is limited but very comfortable. The service is good and their food is surprisingly GOOD! All of their natural juices are good and recommend the Vampiro or Minerales drink. Their pozole has good flavor, fish tacos are good, and their tostada de tinga is tasty. A definite stop before going to the movies in South Gate, ca.

Love how they specialize in mexican appetizers. They get creative! Nice server and clean utensils and cold ketchup bottels! That’s something you don’t see everyday.

I ordered a «Como Nuevo» and was then asked by the employee«Can you tell me what is in it?»…uh, what? Aren’t you suppose to know yourself? The order is taken in what seems to be scratch paper, handed to us to go take it to the cashier. My girlfriend also wants to buy an Arizona Mucho Mango in which the can says«Great Buy! 99 cents… She gets charged $ 1.50! Why? She asks. «Because you’re buying it at a restaurant. If you don’t want it, you don’t have to take it.» Is this really how a business is being run??? Finally, when we get our bionic and my girlfriend asks for extra granola, it’s as if we offended one lady as she calls the lady who prepared it for us and tells us it’s a dollar more… You know, fifty cents here, a dollar there, it’s not much. But the way it was all handled, never going back there again.

Let me start off by saying I will never visit this restaurant/deli/market. They are very unorganized, and very rude. We sat down a Sunday evening expecting to be served promptly yet we waited for such a long time with no menus. We were so confused on how the restaurant worked. The tables were dirty, and not sanitary. A couple of friends and I ordered a medium sized serving of cueritos, the waiter brought the wrong size and intended on charging me the wrong price. I asked for the right size and I got it back ten minutes later. The menu, that we forced to grab ourselves, listed prices. My order was supposed to be $ 2, yet a larger menu said $ 4. I was baffled at the prices. As we finished we walked up to a register to pay, a lady behind the cash wrap charged me $ 5. When I questioned the price she rudely told me that she did not know the reason for the price change. She seemed as though she wanted the money, and for me to leave. I showed her the different prices, as soon as she saw the mistake she told another employee to «deal» with me because she was too busy. I found this too be very rude. The one star will not do the restaurant justice.

Okay, this place is pretty good. The only complaint that I have is that the service is slow. But it’s all good. Once you get your food and or drinks you’ll soon realize that it is worth the wait. Give them a try! Oh, and try their Chilaquiles, they are rather tasty.

I saw their signs about Tamales. They used a microwave to heat them up. I wanted to change my mind, but l decided to take them home. Result: Dried up Tamales.
