I found these guys from a craigslist ad, and although I called the English number I encountered someone speaking Spanish. We were able to communicate enough to get the address and to confirm that they were open. Good stuff. It was a pretty quick drive on the weekend and although it’s in a weird stuff you head off an industrial throughway to a sub tropical dirt road, pretty neat. When I arrived I was greeted by Ernie, who’s awesome by the way, and he was happy to help my husband and I find the fruit trees that we wanted(already fruiting!). Although they didn’t have everything listed in the ad(no pineapple, no date palms) they have a LOT of plants, and tons of HUGE palms. When we asked for more edibles Ernie gave us a few fruits to taste. Ernie agreed to deliver our purchases for gas money(nice one) and let us pay on delivery too.(Cash only!) I will DEFINITELY be buying more from Ernie and Gomez Nursery. Worth the drive. We bought a Valencia Orange tree, semi dwarf($ 80-$ 250 depending on size), a lime tree, a manilla mango tree and a bird of paradise. If you’re in LA and don’t want to trek it all the way to Moreno Valley or Riverside for a nursery, but want out-of-la prices go to Gomez!
