Came here from downtown Chicago with a referral from a friend… AMAZINGDISHES! The ambiance is great and the service is excellent. Simon took care of us and was nothing but the best. I highly recommend anyone to check this restaurant out!

My hubs and I went there on a Friday with a Groupon. The food is so good, and the portions are so generous that we will definitely be back. I had the teriyaki bowl with steak, and the hubs had Mongolian beef. Because it was our first visit, they gave us complimentary onion rings that were also very good. Our waiter was new, but he was eager to please and did a great job. I love that this is a family owned place and that they are giving young people opportunities to work. I hope more people will give this place a try. It is sort of hidden behind a bank just off Randall Road and Thornwood Dr. Worth searching out!

Came here when it first opened up and haven’t been back. The waiter didn’t seem to know what he was doing and messed up our order, I figured it was his first time serving since was so nervous. The food was bad! The fried rice we got was swimming in oil and I’m not exaggerating, I took a tablespoon and was able to fill it with oil, our waiter apologized and said he would bring back another one. We also ordered a chicken dish with vegetables(can’t remember the name) but there was about 3 small pieces of chicken in the whole plate. When our new fried rice came back it smelled burnt and look mushy, by this time I didn’t even bother to mention it we asked for the check, left and haven’t been back since. It’s sad cuz I really was excited about a new Chinese place opening up in the Elgin area even my husband who is not picky about food at all thought this place was bad. We have thought a few times about giving this place a second chance but our first experience was so bad we always decide against it.

Have been here 2 times and will definitely be going back for more! Outstanding food, everything I have tried so far has been really tasty and with some unique twist to it. Solid beer selection and the service both at the bar and in the restaurant was awesome. Highly recommend checking this place out!

This place is a hidden gem! The menu is unique in that you choose your meat, and then choose how you want it prepared from a wide variety of choices. Also included are a list of appetizers, soups and salads. ALL the food is prepared after you order, so it may take a few extra minutes, but you will not get any food that has been sitting around for hours. In addition, there is a full bar for your favorite beverage. I recommend the plum wine! This place is well worth the trip there!

Horrible food and service! You could tell that the sauce was prepackaged, my sons chicken nuggets were hard, and the tapioca balls were over done. The service was slow, the waiter was busy talking to somebody so we sat there for ten minutes!

My staff and I love coming here for our lunch breaks. Great food and service! Reasonable prices too! I noticed they also have a nice craft beer selection too.

Beautiful restaurant, service was great. I had the delicious egg rolls, for appetizer. Quality of food very high standard, fresh. I would highly recommend.

The restaurant is horrible. The only good thing I had was the soup. The dishes were tasteless. I ordered the ribs appetizer and it was still frozen in the middle, so that means they microwave it. Also our waitress forgot to put in a dish we ordered. Their walnut shrimp is just a stir fry. Totally different than walnut shrimp. This place will close soon since people will try it once and not go back.

Have enjoyed this place several times now — 3 times eating in and at least 3 times for take out. So perhaps voting with our feet indicates we really like it. The restaurant has a really upscale inviting interior with a full bar. Most recently, with some great change ups to the menu, we started with two appetizers, the coco nutty shrimp,(huge & so delicious) and the Bbq spare ribs(husband said they were excellent). Husband had the Orange beef which he has a hard time straying away from since it’s so good. I like vegetarian dishes and lean toward the stir fry’s, usually toward the hotter Spicey choices like the Mongolian. They offer shrimp, beef, pork, chicken with entrees, but especially nice is that everything can be prepared with tofu. They do a nice job with the different tofu preparations. One time my entrée was a bit too salty, but I said something And have not experienced that since. In fact I think the food prep has gotten better with each visit!-and we loved it our first visit! Our waiter since day 1(Edgar), the owner and the chef have been graciously accomodating for the change ups I have requested when I like things about more than one entrée and want parts of each of them in my dish! Our service has always been excellent, each team member so nice and appropriate. We were«welcomed back» each time since our second visit. It’s nice to be remembered. Update: A visit again tonight with friends who had not been there before. New waiter, nice but not so good. No familiar staff tonight. More dining guests than ever before. Shrimp and rib appetizers were great but went downhill after that. One of the dinners was wrong so had to all wait while our dinners got cold for correct preparation to come. Had only one bottle of a listed beer and was offered a substitute on the second round — a can. All dinners were overcooked and all seemed rather the same even though different– stuff smothered in a brown much too salty sauce. Disappointing. Darn.

Had a really nice experience with Wok n Hot. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered potstickers as an appetizer, which were very good; my 16 month old ate most of them, which is an indication they were good bc he’s normally a very picky eater. For our entrees, I ordered the garlic chicken, per the servers recommendation, and my husband ordered the sweet and sour chicken. Both dishes came out promptly and were nice and hot! The garlic chicken was excellent! The flavor of the sauce made the dish; would highly recommend it! The sweet and sour chicken was very good as well, but the garlic chicken was definitely the favorite of the two. The overall look and feel of the restaurant is very modern, sleek, and was super clean. You can tell they put a lot into making it look good! if you enjoy Asian cuisine, I would definitely recommend Trying this place out!

The service was very good. The place is nice looking. That is about the end of the good things I can say. We went there on Saturday about 5pm. I had the Garlic chicken the vegetables were very raw. I couldn’t eat the broccoli out of it. The chicken tasted like it was warmed up in the stir fryer not fresh. My wife didn’t like her general tao. She has had this dish out at outer places many times. She said the chicken was soggy. the vegetables were under cooked and sauce was too salty… We won’t be back.

We went on a Sunday night; an hour until closing time. First impression of the menu and atmosphere had promise. We started with an appetizer of lettuce wraps. We had a party of 4, and they brought out one large piece of lettuce and 6 medium to small lettuce cups. The filling was a bit watery, but did have decent flavor. For our entrée we ordered Broccoli chicken and Mongolian steak. The chicken had hardly any flavor, but the sauce was decent. It also had far too many water chestnuts. The Mongolian did not have enough heat as expected and the steak was just ok. The best part of the meal was the rice. We will not be returning for a second visit.

What a HOTMESS! Went there with friends on a Friday night. The drinks and food were good enough, but we’ll NEVER go back. For this food & price there are many better options. First, there is no ambiance. While they have lots of light — presumably leaving them with many lighting options, they were all on. The brightness gave the sensation of eating in a diner which was reiterated by the booths and décor. They could be nice if they would turn the overhead lights off, but with everything on it just looked cheap. Then they brought us the wrong food! I don’t mean somebody got the wrong meal, but nobody got what they ordered. Then came the wait while they tried to figure out what went wrong and how to get us the food we ordered. Somebody came over with the waiter to try and figure things out, but nobody seemed to know what they were doing. On the way out, we saw several workers/managers behind the bar shooting the breeze. But with all this extra personnel(they were not crowded) nobody asked us about our experience, said goodnight, or made any effort to try and make amends for the colossal screw-up. Do they not understand that we can get oriental food from a number of places, but if we’re going to spend that much it needs to be a friendly, enjoyable experience? Our whole group discussed how we’d be surprised if they make it though the summer before going out of business. None of us plan on returning, and we had little positive to say about the evening — apart from our own company.
