Angel Cleaners & Tailors

Avoid at all costs. If you’re being forced by a sadistic escaped convict to dry clean his clothes, and this is the only cleaners nearby, it might be a more pleasant experience to not go to Angel Cleaners and take your chances with the convict and whatever punishment he metes out.
I dropped off a dress to be pressed for my wife and they said it would be ready Saturday at 9. Wife goes to pick up on Saturday, she was told come back at 11 which was the time of the event she was attending. She tells Cleaners to forget it, she will take dress un-​pressed. My wife is then informed that they lost the dress. Wife, now upset and stressed, leaves, gets a call while she’s at event in some outfit she cobbled together and she’s told that they found the dress. She asks that they not press it and that they keep tags on. She goes hours after to pick up dress and it’s pressed with tags missing. Incredibly rude and abrasive lady tells my wife 6 dollars. My wife refuses to pay and asks that the lady find tags so my wife might have a shot at returning dress. After the lady at cleaners is (presumably) swearing at my wife in her native tongue, my wife attempts to tell her zero dollars, lady switches back to English and informs her again «6 dollars!» Wife says zero again, lady then says «5 dollars».
Keep in mind that after each screw up, no apologies or options were given to us. Accountability was nonexistent.
I had forgotten why we stopped going to «Angel» Cleaners after a couple visits, 10 years ago when we first moved to South Elgin. Owners are incredibly rude, untrustworthy, and quite possibly insane. Find somewhere else or get yourself an old tyme washboard and walk over to the Fox River to clean your stuff.

I have been using Angel Cleaners for over a year now. I have found them easy to work with and the quality of cleaning is always top end! I use them mostly to launder my wool dress pants for work, but also had them do some minor tailoring, and they delivered as expected with the tailoring. I recommend them for these services, and have no problem giving them a thumbs up!

Do not EVER use them. They have destroyed my $ 100 dress! They tried to redo it and stained it even more. They tried to tell me that the dress bicolored (back — black, front — very light pink), so thats the reason why it happened. So do «dry clean» stickers mean anything??? And the man who works there, who had appearance of being hangover, tried to yell at me for refusing to pay!!! This is the worst dry cleaning experience ever! DO NOT USE THEM if you want to save the money you paid for your garments. I also asked the last (must be the wife of the hangover men) to tailor my dress, which was supposed to be very simple. But instead she screwed this up as well, and left my dress with absolutely uneven hem. Soooo disappointing!

Only go here if you are willing to pay more than they quote. I took a prom dress in and was quoted $ 15,95. When I came to pick it up she indicated it would be $ 35.00 and she quoted me the wrong price. I would not have left the dress there for that price.
