I’ve been getting our Easter ham every year which have been just perfect and I regularly enjoy everything from their hotdogs to their cheese kielbasa — worth a regular trip! And now with their fancy payment system I pay via my smartphone! Staff are always knowledgeable and a joy to interact with for the joy they share of their products!

Old world style smokehouse and meat shop you rarely see anymore. Smells like smoke right upon entering. You can’t find most of these items at any grocery store. If you smoke it, they will come. No joking around, just straight up meats. No lunch service, just meat. Some local goods including, honey, pickled eggs, and pierogis. Grabbed sweet and hot sausage, and andouille sausage. They accept credit/debit. The older lady behind the counter was cold as ice, and seemed like she’s ripped the heads off a few chickens in her time. They do use nitrates, which kind of sucks. Smoked sausage, kielbasa, duck, spare ribs, bratwurst, linguisa, chorizo, hot dogs, bacon, ham, etc. The place is a goddamn house of horrors for a vegetarian. Bring a cooler like everyone else says.

I visit here as often as possible. I haven’t found anything that isn’t delicious. The smoked andouille is my personal favorite, better even than what I used to get out of Louisiana. They also stock various things from the surrounding area. I recommend the horseradish and the kimchi. Awesome folks as well. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I go by here all the time because the shop is in between where I live and civilization. I probably shop here about once a week, which is a lot of pork, but it is super yummy! Everything they have is terrific. The kielbasa, the ham, the bacon, andouille, and Italian sausages are all superior to anything you could get anywhere else. Every now and then I get a delicious smoked chicken(this makes a great house gift to for my friends who are on low carb diets). But the reason I’m finally writing a review today is because today I got this Marquez sausage(apparently it is usually made with lamb) that has Moroccan spices — it is just amaaazing! You got to get some, I am not kidding you! Other pluses — they offer a small but good selection of other locally made goods; Mike Pekarski is super nice; and last but not least, they take credit cards now! We win!

Wow. Seriously, wow. Best. Sausage. Ever. I was just up there. They had fresh,(as in made this morning fresh,) bratwurst and breakfast sausages. Got some of those. Got one of their famous kielbasas, a smoked whole duck(yum) some smoked italian hot sausages(something new), a linguesa and an andouille. Had one of the bratwursts for dinner. It was better than some of the ones I had in Germany. I was amazed at the variety available, and the quality is top class. They are now open on Sundays, and have begun accepting credit/debit cards, so no worries, people, if you’re in the area and want to stop in but aren’t carrying cash.

So here I sit in Myrtle Beach, a sunny day with 14 of my closest friends… How do we celebrate my birthday? Perry and Judy Messer drove down to join us with a cooler full of MEAT. This was the breakfast of a lifetime. Smoked Kielbasa, sweet sausage, smoked bacon and breakfast links. Amazing. Pekarski’s rocked it and made the week a great success. Mike and May make me miss Western Mass. Great people, great work ethic and honest business people. A big change from the DC area where I now live. Thanks Mike and May for a great birthday present and being a big part of the weeks celebrations.

Yep, lives up to the hype. They sell bacon and pork ends cheap for your baked beans. They are a little out of the way for most folks, but right off the Yankee Candle exit of route 91.

Stopped in today on our way home from Deerfield. Cooked up the cheese-filled Kielbasa and it is absolutely delicious! Purchased some bacon and house hot dogs. Very reasonable prices! It wasn’t super busy for 2130 on a Saturday, and the service was fast and very pleasant! Can’t wait to cook up the rest of our purchases!

Not sure if I need to review this place as everything good has already been said. How can a place like this go wrong? Smoked meats, homemade sausage, and bacon? One of their whole smoked chickens is roasting in my oven right now and I am practically salivating at its delicious aroma. I fantasize about their hot Italian sausages. Cheese stuffed kielbasa… Whaaaaaaat? Unbelievable. Plus the drive there is gorgeous too. Still cash only, and closed on Sundays. Beware: not vegetarian friendly :-)

Our son & daughter-in-law live in Mass, so we get up here a couple times a year. Pekarski’s is about 30 min north of where they are, so we always plan on driving up there first, «on the way», and fill up a cooler. Yes, everything in the sausage family is amazing; kielbasa, hotdogs, bratwurst, breakfast sausage, andouille, linguisa. The bacon is also great. But don’t bypass the smoked whole chicken. It is out of this world. When we went this past time, there was also a fella delivering baked goods from Tyburski’s Countryside Bakery. They place them all along the top of the two display cases. Bought some blueberry danish. WOW. Don’t miss the chance to grab a couple of anything while you’re there. Obviously homemade, and very fresh. Pekarski’s meats are amazing, and will always be a stop on our trips up north. But be sure to plan accordingly. Take a BIG cooler, plenty of cash(no credit or debit cards) and try the baked goods. The meats are a little pricey, but you won’t get this quality anywhere so it’s well worth it.

Excellent smoked kielbasa. Their chorizo and sweet Italian-style sausage is also fine, and the price is more than fair for the quality. I like stopping here after a long bike ride(except on Sundays!) to pick up kielbasa to snack on, and sausage to cook. I need to branch out to their other meats. The pierogis they stock in the fridge are good, too(not made by Pekarski’s, though). One reviewer noted that they don’t have a website; however, they do have a phone number, and it’s easy to call and check their hours.

While exploring Route 116 on a Sunday… we came across this place and were disappointed it was closed… WE came back in the middel of the week and bought their Keilbasa. I AGREE: this is the best we have EVER ate in our life. Heading there today to get smoked Cornish Hens. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED.

This is the kind of place that is so good you know that when you Google it, the first hit will be Unilocal because… they don’t NEED a website. Although for our family, it’s all about the smoked ham hocks(which make for old-school Maine baked beans) they also have a bunch of local favorites in the fridge, like picked green beans, sauerkraut, etc. And of course, it is a bit of a sausage fest.

I was denied a life changing sausage experience. Why, you ask? Well Pekarski’s doesn’t have a website. So there I was in S. Deerfield, in the Pekarski’s empty parking lot, with a tear in my eye. Sniffling in disbelief. They are also not open on Sunday’s in the winter.

Driving up Rt. 116, you pass through farm fields and the bucolic Connecticut River Valley. Around one corner lies the large red sign bearing the Pekarski’s name. The smell of smoke wafts gently along the road; it is a siren song for those carnivores who appreciate what a master can do with the pig. I have been making regular trips to Pekarski’s for nearly 10 years — starting with their call-out in Yankee magazine. We’ve driven from Boston, Worcester, Hartford, Williamstown, and from Dayton, OH or Richmond, VA to procure what has to be the best kielbasa in the Valley. Given that we live 600 miles away, our trip has become semi-annual, buying 10 or so ropes to stock the freezer with. Pekarski’s is a hallowed name spoke in hushed tones and absolute reverence. The family is affable and committed to making the best sausage, period. Their kielbasa is otherworldly. This review isn’t hyperbole — it’s all true. 100% objective facts.

Smoked Kielbasa — Need I say more? This product is their crowning glory … or is it the smoked pork chops … or the smoked Cornish game hens, or extra hot Italian sausage, or slab bacon, or … … just stop by and buy stuff. You will not be disappointed!

It’s one of those places that you stumble across either on your way somewhere else, or just driving thru the country. You are intrigued, stop, get something a little weird, and find you can’t stop coming back. For me, it was the smoked hocks that did it. With them, my baked beans became stratospherically good, and I can never get enough. The funny part is that the hocks are seasonal. When I was there this weekend, I was told, in essence, that the pigs are still using them and they won’t have hocks for a few more weeks(until the Thanksgiving hams are being made). The lovely woman behind the counter could have sold us everything in the store. From the fresh and smoked meats and sausages that were only recently walking around nearby, to the locally-made pickles, mustards, and other condiments, you’ll leave with all your meat eating needs satisfied.
