The cake I purchased was pretty good. Although when ordering the cake, the manager didn’t seem to be very friendly. When opening the cakes box, the entire cake was squished on the inside lid. They should make boxes that for the cakes more appropriately.

I went in with a request for a shopkins cake that I was having a lot of trouble finding. They told me they would do the best they could so I sent the email with the picture it was wonderful my daughter loved it. It was also one of the best tasting cakes we have ever had. Always get our cakes from here and will continue to do so

The only reason I’m not demoting Sunrise to one star is the sheer fact that I still think they have the best linguica cheese roll I’ve ever eaten. However, I won’t be going back after being treated like garbage. I asked for a latte at the drive through. They said they won’t make them in the drive through. There was no one behind me and there hadn’t been anyone in the drive through for a while. I asked, since I had a screaming infant in the car, if they could make an exception for me. I simply couldn’t come inside just to get a coffee. They refused. I asked politely to speak to a manager and she not only was rude to me in her response, she mocked me in front of other customers and her staff. I’ve never been so furious and humiliated as a customer. I explained that I drive from out of state just to buy their product, and she didn’t budge. Just got ruder. I’ll never ever go there again. It’s unfortunate.

I am not from the area but stumbled upon Sunrise Bakery & Coffee Shop today. I stopped by early in the morning and really liked what I saw so I ordered a few breakfast pastries. The fruit Danish was really good. Fresh and moist with a tangy lemon filling and a pleasant icing. My friend got the apply turnover and reported it was outstanding as well. When we found ourselves still in the New Bedford area around lunch time we decided to try this gem for lunch. The place was a mob scene at 11:40am but the service was quick and efficient. The staff, while certainly not over-friendly, was at least efficient. I ordered a chicken salad special and while it wasn’t the biggest sandwich I have ever eaten, it was quite good. The bread was fresh and appeared to be home made. I finished up with one of the many crazy-good looking desserts, the death by chocolate cupcake. It was super delicious and I would have bought another for my ride home had I known it would be so good. My friend got the whoopie pie and while it didn’t present as a traditional rounded whoopie pie, he raved about how tasty it was. It was more like a whoopie sandwich with a chocolate ganache on the top. Overall I was completely thrilled with this place and I will certainly stop again if I am in the area.

I love their sandwiches. They’re just regular sized sandwiches and they’re very expensive. Their cupcakes are always fresh, and never crumbly. Their pastries and pies are wonderful and their cakes are very top notch. This is high end quality in a local shop. The pastry and dessert prices are very reasonable.

Delicious food, delicious coffee. But have never met such rude and snippy employees. Can barely get your order in before they’re rushing you with«yup anything else» or «mhm»

Haven’t tried the coffee, but LOVE their pastries. When i was pregnant I went almost every single morning for a ham and cheese croissant-heated AND a coconut coffee roll! Love that it’s nestled in the cut, so its not a mad house, like the one in South Dartmouth. Friendly service– always!

Love this busy place! Espresso, cakes, pastries, sandwiches, soup, and all types of baked treats, including Portuguese specialties, like nata custard tarts, pop rolls, sweet breads, sponge cake, butter crisps, meat pies, linguica cheese rolls, coconut cups, bean cups and, if you order ahead for Saturday morning, malasadas, which are likely the best sweet fried bread treat you’ve ever tried. Eat in or drive thru, but don’t miss it!

Dangerously delicious. It’s all too easy to get here on my lunch break for one of their BLTs or grilled Italian subs, or their version of the Hostess Cupcake! And the friendly service only encourages me to come more often.

So my boss brought their donuts into work for us and boy oh boy were they good especially the custard filled a little too heavy on the powdered sugar but nevertheless still delicious

Better then dunkin, this place has fresh doughnuts, fresh coffee, fresh sandwiches, everything in this bakery is nice and fresh. Great taste and always the best place to get bread as well. The staff is friendly, and you can’t beat the prices either.

I don’t really know what happened with Sunrise Bakery but they have slipped. Their coffee tastes burned more times than not and personally I can’t find anything other than their linguica rolls and their fresh baked donuts… that they do well anymore. Sad to say this but I have to remove a star for their lack of consistency over the last 6 months.

This is almost a daily stop for my husband and I! We are both somewhat of a coffee snob, but I can honestly say that if you order an iced coffee with regular cream and half the sugar you will get a decent cup of coffee!!! Their cajada nata is excellent! And their lingucia roll is fantastic as long as the person behind the counter heats it enough for you! Their pastries NEVER taste fresh to me!(I myself have a business of selling cupcakes for parties and such!) so I know what I am looking for… But for coffee this is a great place to go to if you order it the right way.

You must visit this wonderful little place if you are in the area. Their Linguica and Cheese rolls are just pure heaven :) Meat pies are also exceptional, and super, super cheap.(Less then $ 3) The only reason I gave three stars is because I find the rest of their menu just ok, and not really anything healthy. But, they are a bakery, so I can’t expect much more than baked goods.

Customer service is excellent. Donuts are great. Pastries are ok, sometimes stale. The sweet bread is wonderful. The iced coffee is AMAZING! I am definitely addicted.

I received excellent customer service today here at Sunrise Bakery, despite the fact that I was completely confused in the process. I came here for the first time hoping that they served lunch items. Which I found out they did. The lunch menu was small, about 8 different sandwiches/wraps, hotdogs, soups and chicken fingers. I decided to try a chicken wrap. There were so many people behind the counter I was confused on where to stand and who to talk to. The lady took my order and then proceeded to make my sandwich as well. they seemed to have a rhythm to working the counter and making the food and rotating out to each customer. The line was a bit lengthy so I figured something had to be good here. I asked for an ice chai and unfortunately they didn’t have it. I said no big deal and she went to make my sandwich while I decided on what to drink. When the lady returned with my sandwich she had her manager at her side. I guess she was concerned I was upset that they had no ice chai. Really, it wasn’t a big deal I assured them. But instead her manager went to grab a free sample packet of some vanilla chai they don’t actually sell apparently and asked me if I would like that. Sure why not I guess, since you’re already going through all this trouble for me. They brewed up some ice chai, and asked me to give it a try. I guess the lady thought I was a regular customer because she kept referencing to menu items she thought she had seen me purchase before. I was completely confused. No, I’ve never been here before. It ended up being $ 4 for chips, a chicken wrap and a medium ice chai. Pretty good deal if you ask me. The quality was ok. Worth trying again. I’m more interested in all of the fancy portuguese breads they sold. They look appetizing. They also had a lot of dessert items and customized cakes!
