Absolutely the worst meal I’ve had in 20 years. There were three of us and we were appalled by the(lack of) quality of the food. My wife’s tomato bisque soup was tomato paste. My guacamole looked like the cat threw up. Zero stars. Do yourself a favor — find another restaurant.

I absolutely love Vermont Sports Grill! I’ve eaten here many times over the past two years, but only recently joined Unilocal,so my review is a composite of my experiences. I think atmosphere, food quality, service, and price for experience are the most important indicators – that being said – VSG excels on all marks! The atmosphere has a local sports bar and grill feel. First and foremost, the restaurant has always been spotless and extremely clean. There’s a combination of booths, high-top tables, and bar-seating. Although it has a sports theme, it’s not overpowering if you’re not a sport fan. There’re small, medium, and large flat-screen TVs visible from many spots inside(but they’re not overwhelming or distracting). The food is delicious! The free cup of soup is an awesome addition! I love the chili and almost always get it – it’s melt-in-your-mouth good! Just to diversify, I tried the tomato bisque, which is also great. Both the chili and tomato soup are fresh and delicious! I’ve tried many menu items, so I’m going to throw out some of my favorites: The Lum’s Burger! What an awesome tribute to the former Lum’s(chain that used to occupy the same space)! The burgers are huge – you will not leave hungry. Fries, onion rings, and tatters(yep!) are very good too! Salads are often overlooked, but whenever I need my veggies, VSG delivers the best. The Five Cheese Mac n’ Cheese is classic comfort food. The Steak Philly is excellent – especially since they use real cheddar instead of processed oil«cheese.» The Pulled Pork and Fish Sandwich are fantastic too! The beer selection is good – I usually go for Switchback – which they have on tap. The service is top-notch! Every time you’re greeted at the door – with genuine warmth and a ‘local’ we’re glad to see you feel! I’m not a fan of high-top tables, so I always ask(hope I’m not being a pain) if we can have a booth(so my feet can touch the floor). The staff always make you feel welcome and check-in with your table just the right amount. Service is always fast and friendly. The price is very reasonable – not too high, but not too cheap – it’s just right for the dining experience. The pre-dinner soup is an extra bonus! Obviously, I love the place – but I want to throw out a few suggestions for the owners and management. First and foremost: you have an excellent establishment! Being a local, though, I’ve never seen or heard any advertising on radio or TV – and you should! You offer an all-around great experience to your guests! Get the word out! You have the media infrastructure(TVs visible from every seat) to offer a unique dining experience. Even if it’s just an every so often thing, you’re fully equipped to take half the restaurant’s TVs and do movie nights(kind of like a dinner theater) while staying true to the sports theme. Try some event-style nights to bring in new customers and advertise it. I know advertising can be expensive – I«liked» you on FaceBook and frequently recommend VSG to my friends – you have a solid establishment and I want to see you become a new local tradition! All the best!

My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch after driving up from Providence. We don’t know the area so we just found a spot near our hotel that was open for lunch and went in. The place was ok, big and bright and clean. They have a lot of tv’s and the décor was pretty cool looking. We sat at the bar, and it was quiet on a Friday afternoon and the bartender was very friendly and accommodating. There wasn’t much of a selection on tap, mostly darker beers. The offer a free cup soup with their meals so I got the clam chowder. We also ordered a pulled pork sandwich and fish and chips. The chowder was great, and the fries were good but the sandwich and fish were just ok. It was an okay experience but definitely not worth the $ 45 tab for three beers and lunch.

I’ve been a patron of this place for years. I love the Irish Nacho’s and I think Wednesday night may be my favorite night. That’s one dollar night, they have a half dozen items you can order for a buck. I usually order all of them and it’s difficult to eat it all. The service is always good, the food hot and the place is nice and clean. My favorite restaurant for wings and beer drinking food. I would like to see a nice steak and baked potato added to the menu… maybe a weekly steak event.

Service sucked. Food was not good. The price of the food was just as bad. $ 10.00 for a Ruben and 8 fries. I could have made one 100 time better at home.

For some reason I only think of this place as a food option once or twice a year. I always get the same thing… Charlie Red Hots(michican dogs). Reminds me of sitting with my dad on lower Church street. The dogs are butterflied, the sauce is almost identical to Charlie’s and they use tin foil(which I had forgotten about) to serve it. My family gets other things and all are good. Great place for beers and watching the game(s).

Service = Fast & Friendly Atmosphere = Sports Bar-y(tv screens everywhere and a variety of games playing) Price = Average Parking = Ample Food = Cheese Wiz on the nachos = Awful! The portion size was perfect and all other ingredients were well done. However, the processed cheese food product instead of fresh grated cheese absolutely ruined them. When our server asked how our food was, we expressed this to him. When he returned, he shared the kitchen staff had said it was to keep costs down. Most people would not balk at paying a few cents more for fresh ingredients. This place could easily be a great local public house/sports bar AND make a profit with just a touch more effort on the foods. Note: this was the only food I sampled and MIGHT consider going again. However, I would ask more details about the ingredients before placing my order.

Gotta love anywhere that gives you a cup of soup for free. Really good quality food with generous portions for the price. The atmosphere is comfortable, for a sports bar, but the food is great. We had wings and salads tonight, and we’ll have enough for lunch tomorrow.

Great for groups. My sons team has come often for pre-game dinners. Service is always friendly. The food is simply ok. Not bad and not spectacular. I doubt that much if any of the food is prepared from scratch on site.

We went with a large group after a UVM hockey game. The place was dead and the manager was not very pleasant. I have so many food allergies that I cannot eat outside of my home, but I brought my entire office and their spouses with me. Not only did the manager tell me that I could not eat the small bag of chips I had brought to hold me over until I got home, but he did so in front of the entire table. Shortly after he told one of the people with us that they should be nice to him because he was the last person to touch his food. Gross. We will not be eating here in the future.

This is one of my favorite places to grab lunch or dinner! Last time I tried the BLT and C(chicken) sandwich and it was really good. Plus, you get a free bowl of soup. The atmosphere is very family friendly, but it’s also a great place to go with a group of friends. There are TVs everywhere, which is great when a big game is on or if you just like watching TV with your dinner. I’d recommend Vermont Sports Grill to all of my friends.

I’ve been here many many times over the years. Always been pretty good. But the last two times I’ve been in just bad. Tonight our party of nine was underwhelmed. Only one person actually finished their meal — most just couldn’t stomach it. Too bad.

The food is really not good, even for kind of fried-food comfort food(not being an haute cuisine snob). Soups were pretty much from a can and old, my entrée, mac and cheese, had such a weird tang I couldn’t eat it. And I am not. picky. about mac and cheese. You may find a dish you like — my dad said his hot hamburg was ok and my mom said her Reuben was decent. Beer-battered fries were ok if not too flavorful. The weird thing to me was how dead quiet it was even during Sunday Patriots game — should be prime time. The restaurant area is really big, but only 8 parties total and we are the only ones watching and cheering for the game. To me the fun of watching game at the bar is the hype and excitement of other fans — didn’t get that here. It is nice though if you really want quiet so you can hear the game and not have a rowdy bunch of distractions. There are tons of tvs and lots of games on if you want to watch other games.

Love going here for a quick delicious dinner. Everything seems homemade. The Mac cheese menu is out of this world. My boyfriend loves the wings every time. Recently got the chili cheese fries and I am INLOVE. They are perfect. Chili tastes homemade and the ratio of chili cheese and fries is dead on. Also got the French bread pizza app tonight and didn’t love it. First thing I’ve eaten here that I didn’t love. The service is always great, too. Quick friendly and not overly pushy.

So went to go see the UVM Hockey game against Union today and was greeted by the manager(owner?) who promptly asked if we had a reservation. First off, it’s a wing joint, not the Bellagio. Secondly, no I don’t have a reservation. Rather than suggesting a later time or having options for myself and my pregnant girlfriend, the person in charge simply turned away my business. Don’t worry Vermont Sports Grill, you won’t get any of my business, or anyone asking of my experience. I promise.

Went with our kids and had an average time. The food was very average and the prices were very average. If you are looking for a beer, a burger, and multiple TV screens in a very unpretentious atmosphere, this is the place to go. We had some chicken wings to start. They were decent. My wife had a Cobb salad. It was one of the biggest things I’ve ever seen in a restaurant in my life. It probably could have said two people easily. She did not even eat a quarter of it. I had a Lum’s burger, which has cheese, bacon, sauce and onions on it. Tasted pretty good. I asked for it to be «pink», which on the menu said medium rare to medium. They overcooked it and I would estimate that it was medium well. That was the only real downside of the dinner. If you have no thoughts of a high-end meal, this place will do!

A co-worker and I came here for lunch and we’ll definitely coming back. I got the cheddar and bacon wings and let me tell you, WORDSCAN’T DESCRIBEHOWGOODTHEYWERE! The guys that work there are really nice. Now, if they can start showing the UFC/MMA fights everything will be perfect!

I am a repeat customer at this restaurant because of the great food and the abundance of Tv’s in the place. The waitstaff gets the job done but I wouldn’t say they are outstanding. That is ok though because I am always here for the food. The wings are great and this place has great appetizer platters for larger groups. For entrees I can definitely recommend: Red Hots Lum’s Burger Meatloaf Any of the macaroni and cheese’s Shepard’s Pie
