Not the best Chinese buffet I know of, but it is the closest to me. Hong Kong Jade(formerly known as the Orchid Buffet?) is your average All-You-Can-Eat Chinese buffet. Nothing out of the ordinary, but everything you’d expect. I was plesantly suprised by the full drink menu, and even though they were a little weak, they were reasonably priced. One thing I would warn about is to make sure to go when it’s busy, as the food will be fresh. If you go at 3pm, you’ll probably be dissapointed, as the food is apparently not let to go to waste. Don’t worry about seating, they’ve got insane amounts of tables. All in all, if you get there during lunch(which is cheaper than dinner, but the same food), you’ll have a good meal. Otherwise, no guarentees.

Formerly, The Orchid Buffet(still using their greasy soda menus on the tables), Hong Kong Jade has a fun interior with exceptionally friendly staff. We popped in for the end of the lunch buffet, $ 7ish bucks, to be pretty disappointed. They did have 3 soup offerings, but most of the buffet was dwindling or empty(crab rangoons? really?). I did hear another customer complaining about the food selection to the staff, and was told«more would be brought out», but it didn’t seem to happen. The food seemed to be more oily than most, very few veggie dishes(lo mein, another oily noodle dish, green beans and a mushroom), no tofu, the chicken was teeny-tiny pieces fried to oblivion. They didn’t have many«kid» friendly choices, either. I was confused by the«hibachi» bar, as no one was working it. I would def pass on this buffet.
