Always a delight. Quality food, reasonable prices and a fun little place.

I initially had to go there for court reasons and got a little hungry afterwards. While I tried Unilocaling for places, this place seemed to be the most reasonable spot to go to! The food was all hand prepared and tasted very good. It was neither too salty nor tastless. It was on point! The only thing I was disappointed about were the lemon bars… the other Unilocal reviews over hyped them so much. Maybe it’s cause of my lack of interest in desert food but nonetheless, I would still recommend this cute little spot for everyone to try! P.S service was very friendly :)

Food was delicious! The caramel brownie was amazing!!! Cute little corner shop with a selection of sandwiches and burgers with southern sides. Prices were ok, not great but not crazy expensive either. Worth a stop if you’re in this small town.

A dozen of us, at two tables, one created from smaller ones, had lunch last week at this charming little restaurant/take out/store. We ordered individually at the counter and the staff helped set us up at tables. They delivered our sandwiches and soup to us and later our desserts. I wanted water to drink, a pitcher and cups were at hand. The service was a nice combination of the ease of separate checks and the fun of a large group balanced with sanity for a small wait staff. Southern Plenty also had shelves of local preserves, chocolates, craft items and I think even wine. Everyone was accommodating and friendly and, if I wasn’t restricted to items that could be carry on for my next flight, I would have done some shopping. Everyone loved what they ordered; mine was a vegetable sandwich with some sort of sauce, delicious. Then I had buttermilk pie, always wanted to try it! fabulous filling in an ordinary crust. Southern Plenty was recommended by someone local or we’d never have found it, and I heartily recommend it to anyone wanting great food at a most reasonable price in a delightful setting.

Leah Long was our server for the morning. She was great, offering her expertise with every question asked. In fact, we asked a great deal of questions and she tirelessly answered each one without being annoyed. Now on to the shop. This is a small café/bistro with novelty candies, various beverage offerings like lattes, teas, smoothies, fresh squeezed lemonade and the likes. They offer pastries, truffles and other sweets, sandwiches and pasta salads and ice cream. The decorum is cute but a bit jumbled. I was unable to really get to look around and I felt a little cramped at the register. What I did see, however I liked. My only gripe; I ordered the kitchen sink sandwich to go and my croissant was kinda haphazardly placed in a too large Styrofoam container to roll around in. It just felt like no LOVE went into it. My croissant was very good though. It had eggplant, spinach, yellow squash, feta, onions and some kind of jam. I didn’t care for the jam because it did not balance out well with the veggies on it but that was a personal preference and is no direct reflection of the establishment itself. At $ 6.75 with no side, etc, I felt it to be pricey for what you get and the area. With a side, $ 8.95. The sandwich was also kinda flat. Not at all what I expect the«kitchen sink» to be. More filling perhaps? With a name like Southern Plenty, I expected larger portions. I also feel like they should also offer better gift card options. Mine was a basic slip of paper with the store name, reason, amount. I was putting it in a card for a Mother’s Day gift though, so I wasn’t to concerned. I would say the gift card should lure the person who receives it to the establishment though, especially if they have never heard of it. A little graphic design and some actual cards from perhaps Vistaprint could go a long way. Thanks Leah for making our day in town worth the drive.

Honestly this place has the best atmosphere and the moment I stepped in I felt a warm tingly sensation. I’ve come here every day since I’ve been in town and tried their breakfast, lunch, and dessert. They are extremely accommodating and even took my request to have a burger(which was expertly cooked) at 9AM! Also, their cheesecake is the best cheesecake I have had in YEARS!

Today I had a tomato pie and it was amazing!!! I would have never thought I would like it, but I did. Mary the owner is a fabulous cook and everything is made from scratch. Many times I have a hard time figuring out what to get because the side salads and specials are always changing. Today I had the macaroni salad and a Thai pasta salad. If you are in this area you must have breakfast or lunch here. A big bonus for those of you who don’t like breakfast, you can order from the lunch menu at anytime!!! While you are there make sure you take time to look around and shop. She has plenty of unique gifts for most anyone on your shopping list. There are an assortment of different wines and wine accessories. This is a must stop for anyone passing through the area or who lives here.
