I’ve bought houseplants from Mitchell and Sons a couple of times now. Suffice it to say: their plants are healthier, more beautiful, and better tended than just about any nursery I’ve ever seen. What’s even better: their prices are… extremely reasonable. Like «I can’t believe it’s this cheap, is this an error?» reasonable. Bottom line is, this place is out of the way, but totally worth the trip. You’ll be happy you went.

There is something to be said about the expert knowledge of Mitchell and Son’s Nursery. I have relied on Mitchell & Son’s for many years to advise me on «how to treat» everything from slugs to poison ivy plants in my yard. When patronizing the big stores one misses out on developing a rapport with professionals who have years of experience behind their advice. The Garden Center is well organized and my kids are enthralled with the many baseball cards offered for sale as well. Give them a look-​see the next time you are in the market for yard tools, seed or plants. I think you will become a loyal customer as well.
