We had a comfortable stay in a large room with extra space in the bathroom area. We can see the campus of University of Notre dame. It seems a family owned small hotel located right in the campus, convenient for families and friends’ visits of students. The only thing missing is a swimming pool, but I’m ok with it.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Kirsten at the front desk was super helpful. We had some rainy days and our outside plans needed to change and she was more than willing to help. In the morning she jumped in to help clear tables when a bus load of people left. Obviously a great employee. Very close to campus and we could walk to our camp or ride bikes the hotel has for you. One thing you should note is the AC completely turns off and on during the night which for a light sleeper can be an issue. But other than that I would have no reservations about recommending this place!

After spending several weeks here over the past year I feel I should update my review. I really, really like this hotel. I spend most of my business travel weeks in chain hotels. Most are nice enough but definitely generic. So I appreciate this unique hotel with a cottage feel. When I wake up in the morning here I almost expect to look out the window and see an ocean. ;) Things I like: King Suites are extra large with a nice desk area, two large wall-mounted televisions, separate room with sofa bed, refrigerator and microwave. The refrigerator has a freezer section that is large enough to hold several frozen entrees. The king size bed is comfortable. Unique artwork in the rooms. Friendly front desk staff. Things I love: Large windows that actually open all the way. I absolutely love fresh air and most hotels have windows that don’t open or maybe open just a few inches. Apparently there are no worries about Notre Dame fans leaping out after a loss because these windows fully open. Excellent hot breakfast with REAL eggs over-easy, scrambled and little omelette with peppers. Hash brown potatoes, waffles and three excellent jalapeño salsas plus some carnivore items. Real plates and silverware too instead of paper plates and plastic forks. Wonderful location within walking distance of many restaurants. Things that could be improved: Not enough light in the rooms. The large King bedroom only has two lamps and no ceiling lights. Unless you are sitting next to one of the lamps there isn’t enough light to read or work. Electrical outlets are few and in rather inconvenient locations. After my first stay here I started packing an extension cord. If you are checking in after a home game you might have to wait for your room to be ready. We checked in Sunday and some of the seven rooms we had reserved still hadn’t been cleaned even several hours after check-in time so we had to wait to get in to them. Not what we wanted to hear after traveling all day and knowing we had to get up early the next morning.

This is a motel that time has forgotten. It needs major upgrades, from the basics of window drapes and carpets to computer tracking. My bill was wrong. My reservation was wrong, which they admitted. The workout room was in serious trouble. The TV is behind a piece of equipment and is not watchable. The recumbent bicycle is 1990 vintage. The weight machines are Gold’s Gym retreads. You get what you pay for.

How this place charges $ 89 a night is beyond me. This place is awesome. I understand that it is a newly renovated hotel but you can barely tell. It is easy to find and right off of ND’s campus(You can see the infamous Linebacker Bar and the baseball fields from the room). There is plenty of well-lit parking. The lobby is cozy but modern. I was greeted by a very sweet receptionist late into the night after a long drive. There are always freshly baked cookies, coffee, iced tea, and water with lemon. The elevator is a bit dated, but that is probably my only complaint of the whole place. My room is HUGE and my bathroom is 2x the size of the one in my apartment! I read another Unilocaler complaining about the bathroom size and I’ve very confident they have a different sized room. The rooms are clean, comfy beds with the most perfect comforters! Heavy down :) I absolutely love the local artwork that can be found in the rooms. It really adds a feeling of being on the ND campus. There is coffee in the room(good coffee), free wifi, bath and body works shampoo and conditioners. The breakfast in the morning had coffee syrups to try with exceptionally good hotel coffee. There was a nice assortment of eggs, salsa, waffles, and yogurts. My husband and I are big ND fans and we will be back to this hotel again! We’ve stayed all over(typically downtown SB) but no longer.

Great stop for us on a cross-country trip. Quick check in, very nice staff and spacious room. I really like the sink/make-up area outside the bath area. Coffee in room a plus. The complimentary breakfast is tops for this sort of arrangement. Hot and fresh eggs, biscuits, bacon & sausage were very tasty along with orange juice, coffee with various creamers all appreciated. Took coffee and USA Today to go as we continued our journey. Would definitely stay here again. Can only imagine it is the perfect spot for visiting Notre Dame and pre-tailgating fun!

3.5 stars! Pros: Came here for a visit to the college. The hotel is a good value for the money. It’s conveniently located, clean, comfortable and has a friendly staff. Con: it’s pretty dated with a super small bathroom. There’s more of a cottage feeling here than a hotel feeling. Overall, it’s pretty good.

We were traveling to relocate a son for school and this was perfect. We opted for a large suite and there was room for all of us to spread out and be comfortable for several days. Breakfast was wonderful(even if early for my crew!) and enjoyed by all of us. We would definitely stay here again.
