The Bar at iPic Theaters

Best movie theater in South Barrington. With that, the food was fresh, and the service was very accurate as well. Last but not least, I Pic was very clean, organized, and cozy.

Love this place and being a sapphire member I was disappointed this time. All food was decent but flatbread was soggy and I ate 2 out of 5 pieces and pointed out to the waiter and he was like well it’s half eaten so they can’t do much. And he says after time it gets soggy though it had only been 10 mins since I got it. I didn’t want a another flatbread/​pizza I was making a point as I am here quite often and was wanting him to let the kitchen know. Also ordered food 30 mins before movie started and got it after movie started and the kids were extremely hungry. I am sure it won’t be like this next time.

If it’s date nite and a move is in order, Ipic is the answer. If Premium seats are purchased you do get a bit more pampering and comfy recliners. The food, cocktails, service and atmosphere are alway topnotch. Of course it’s going to cost more (you get what you pay for) but the price point seems to weed out the teen crowds that you would get at AMC and alike.

Great Sunday specials with $ 2 draft beer and .50 cent wings during football season. Only draw back is there is limited seating with limited TV’s.

Awesome bar to have a few drinks, grab a bite, and watch the game! The wings are killer, they have a great selection of beer on tap! The bartenders are awesome! Very clean and cool atmosphere! Highly recommended!!!

Pro: great place to meet before a movie and not have to go anywhere else

Con: Prices are a touch on the high side, but to be expected here.

Con: service was slow when we needed our check, coinciding with a movie crowd. Time your check & orders appropriately.
Wouldn’t hesitate to go again as the atmosphere was very nice and food was good, just time it appropriately. I tried the flatbread pizza, burger samplers and fish & chips. All very good.

A bit pricey considering the area; gorgeous though! Not quite 5 but almost there ;)

You’ll have to see my review of the iPic theater. Basically I can’t reason going to iPic that often because of the price. But that’s a shame because I made the craziest discovery at Salt Sports Bar (inside the iPic Theater’s lobby). The Chicago north and west suburbs for the most part are devoid of proper buffalo wings. Somehow Salt Sports Bar is the best buffalo wings I have had in this area. That’s both surprising and a shame since the place is so high end. After living and eating in the New York area (and Florida, where the real buffalo wing was properly transferred) I expect buffalo wings the way they’re meant: crispy skin, NO FLOUR OR BATTER, lean wings with chewy outer fat removed before frying, tossed in buffalo sauce and butter. Salt does all of that exactly right. So I’m happy I finally found a place in the suburbs that make wings correctly, but I also like these kinds wings in a huge order at a dive bar and sold at a price like they’re going out of style. At Salt you get classy décor at a premium price with orders of only 6 or 12. Oh well, you don’t find proper cheesesteak, pizza or sweet tea everywhere either; I guess beggars can’t be choosers.

Keep in mind, this bar is inside the iPic movie theater in S. Barrington. We were there for a movie, and were getting drinks and apps ahead of time. The atmosphere is kinda funky — lots of brushed metal and fireplaces. The specialty martini list actually sounded bizarre, lots of herbal infused drinks. I’m more of a traditional vodka, bourbon, and beer drinker. That being said, they have a fairly strong selection of liquor, beer, and wine. The bartender said they have $ 2 drafts on Tuesdays, which is awesome, but I can’t imagine coming here without seeing a movie. This place fills up right before a showing and empties out immediately after.

we came here to watch the bears game on a sunday night and it’s a great looking place. very trendy and upscale, with TV’s everywhere, although not always in the best spots. it was also $ 2 any draft and 50cent wing night, so that was an awesome deal! there was also free pool, so we just played pool and watched the bears all night.
the biggest downside of the night was that the service was REALLY slow. our waitress would stop by every so often, but it felt like she was never around. so we’d sit there waiting for her to stop by to get another drink. they were also very slow at clearing off our table too so we’d just set things on the table next to us and then they’d clear it from there.
all in all, it was an ok experience. cheap food and drink in a nice new place, but very slow service. as a friend of mine said, «they may know how to run a theater, but they don’t know how to run a restaurant.»

Nice Bar, good décor, good dirty martinis. Enough said.

Salt was pretty understaffed the night I visited, we were greeted about 10 minutes after sitting down by a waiter who brought us our menus and told us he would be right back, after 20 minutes of waiting for him to return, we decided to walk over to the sports bar area. After we sat down here the waiter apologized and told us they were understaffed (a waiter didn’t show up for his scheduled shift) and he was the only waiter there. After this point everything went OK, service was a little slower but I definitely attribute it to being understaffed. All in all once we were able to catch him, our waiter was very helpful and on top of it.
Nice environment with some pool tables, high top bar tables, a fireplace (thank goodness it was chilly!) and some comfy booths and a fully stocked bar. I will certainly be returning before another movie, I just wasn’t blown out of the water by SALT like I was with the iPic theater.
