The bagels are pretty good and they have the best coffee cake, they make really good cold sandwiches as well and have decent prices. Definitely pass on the breakfast sandwich like everyone else says its microwaved and gross! How that is passable is beyond me. Not the friendliest staff.

They microwave pork roll, egg and cheese. In 2015 how is it possible that they run a bagel shop without a grill? Very disappointed. I’m just stunned that they acted like the Microwave is cool. It’s not guys. Use the grill and cook fresh food for your paying customers. I’m wondering if the owner went to a steak house and they used the microwave to heat up their steak and told them oh we precooked it would they be fine with it? Really sad.

I expect a microwaved egg sandwich from Dunkin’, not a bagel shop like this. I should have just walked out as soon as I saw them put it in the microwave. Two stars only because the bagel was decent.

Can the workers here PLEASE learn how to spread cream cheese on the bagels? I’m all for supporting small local businesses but i am usually fuming when i get to work and theres a HUGE glob of cream cheese in the center of my bagel(enough cream cheese for 2 bagels). It will only take an extra second of our day to spread the cream cheese across the bagel. The counter girls are not very friendly. The older lady is nice. Sucks theres a credit card minimum. These bagels are decent at best. If you want AMAZING, spectacular bagels, then hit up hot bagel bakery in long branch. You will never try another bagel again.

I really like the bagels here and my family and I have been coming for years. I usually get the everything bagel or sesame. It’s not too expensive. I usually avoid coming here though because it’s always packed and hot in there. There’s not really any place to sit or hang out while you wait for your order. Also, this place has the most unfriendly people working at the front that always make me feel really uncomfortable. They also look like they hate everyone. My boyfriend lives in Matawan and he took me to Bagel Time and that’s where I get my bagels now. They’re better and the atmosphere is more comfortable.

I will start with their desserts look great, but I went there for a breakfast sandwich. The eggs are all pre-cooked and just heated up in the microwave!!! So hopefully you like scrambled eggs because there is no other option. Bacon also just heated up in the microwave. Hopefully you don’t like crispy bacon or Taylor Ham not an option. You might as well go to Dunkin donuts a few doors away!!!

Broadway Bagels has been in South Amboy for almost 20 years. The bagels are pretty good. Pretty good subs & sandwiches. Excellent desserts.

The cookies are amazing ! If you need breakfast within 12 min before boarding the train a few doors down, this is a better choice than the frozen /turbo toasted breakfast sandwiches at Dunkin . I’d honestly say the only draw back was the way the counter girl /cashier just looked at me as I walked in & kept eye contact till I got to the register. Is it me? Or am I just a stickler for«hello, how are you? „“ how May I help you? Can I take your order? Would you like to know today’s specials? » . So once again, just good for a grab & go(microwave) breakfast.

This place is not good. Decent bagels at best and they make sandwiches in the microwave. You read that right, the microwave. You’re better or going just about anywhere else that makes bagels.

It’s a bagel shop, and the bagels are awesome for the location. They’re not super-spectacular, but they’re solidly good and often great. They’re open every day of the year(according to the woman behind the counter.) Everyone has been friendly, and I’ve never waited a long time. They’re exactly what a bagel shop should be.

Small town bagel shop, nothing more, nothing less. THEGOOD: One of the only places to get breakfast in the area. The bagels are pretty good. When you order a dozen bagels you get 15 not 12. Their chocolate chip cookies are to die for. THEBAD: Some of the girls who work there are not so friendly and often seem annoyed to do their job. There salads are ridden with mayo and nothing else. Tuna salad is just tuna and a lot of mayo. THEUGLY: It is true. They microwave their breakfast sandwiches. They have pre cooked eggs which they microwave to cook initially in a huge bowl(gross) and when you order it, they again microwave it and your microwaved bacon on a glass plate for 45 seconds and then slop it on a bagel. OK if you were at home, not OK to charge a customer for.

Not sure why this place is getting the bad reviews it has but I have always have had a good experience here. Bagels are made fresh every single morning. I think they were closed maybe like 2 or 3 times since they opened the place — once during Hurricane Sandy so it wasn’t even by choice. Yes their breakfast sandwiches are microwaved but they actually aren’t too bad(yes I’d rather have my greasy concoction cooked on a grill) but give it a try they might surprise you. The subs they make are pretty good as well although I have had some bread that was a little on the hard side a few times. They make a pretty good cup of coffee and it’s a consistent cup so if you need your morning coffee give them a try.

Bagels aren’t bad but the customer service is terrible. The prices aren’t consistent and they are very slow. Try any other place!

Microwaved breakfast sandwiches? tsk-tsk. Bagels are average however the service is below average. Maybe I am spoiled being that I had fresh bagels in NYC for so many years. However I found the bagels in my hometown up in Rockland county to be better than these.
