This is a fun local diner. Food was good, service was fast and friendly. prices are fair. I would recommend it.

This is a great little spot, particularly for breakfast and brunch. Serving sizes are generous and the staff is friendly and punctual. The prices are very reasonable and I have always enjoyed myself there. It can be very busy on the weekends as an FYI.

Fair priced. Most menu items are good, but you need to like your food on the heavy seasoned side. Parking at times is hard and forget peak times. Place is small and there’s a waiting line.

Great breakfast spot! Always great service, but the wait can be killer if you you get there at the wrong time. The food is always fast and fresh from a clean grill. I’ve never been disappointed with George’s and I’m sure you won’t be too. Just be prepared to wait it out when you get there(and the front area is super awkward).

Excellent food and service. Sitting outside was perfect. Plenty of food and high quality. Never an empty cup of coffee.

George’s Kitchen has some of the best homemade soups I’ve tasted. Keeps me coming back… along with the Awesome breakfasts, ofc.

The highly started reviews must be based on a dearth of local options. We were in the neighborhood and thought a local eatery with four and a half stars sounded perfect. George’s is basically a small diner, with a large selection and low quality. We had eggs and hash browns(mediocre), fruit salad(obviously from a can), a chicken«panini» on pita bread(not good), and a gyro(very disappointing, esp for a Greek place). Everything was bland and boring. Quality is two stars. This is the kind of place Gordon Ramsey would feature on Kitchen Nightmares. Service is four stars, though — the waitress is really lovely. I’m bumping it up a star for her.

My fiancé and I wanted to get breakfast on a Saturday morning without going to a commercial chain restaurants, we found this place on Unilocal saw the good reviews and gave it try. If your looking for good feeling food this is the place to go and It’s not that pricy. I will be coming back here soon.

Unbelievable specials for great prices, I have never had a bad meal here, and have never left hungry

This will be the last time I get Georges take out. They seem to always forget something. Hartlins is right up the road and ten times better. No coleslaw, no pickles, no dip for my «french dip», no utensils, asked for extra cheese on the Philly cheese steak, couldn’t even see any. Don’t ever get food to go here

Love the small-town atmosphere. Food is very good. Lunch specials are better than the dinner specials. Fresh food, nice staff, good place to have lunch on the weekend.

Love this little place in sound beach. Hubby loves the omelettes and home fries but I always go for the homemade corned beef hash. Service can be slow but they are super friendly and its a family place. Can be very crowded on the weekends. Especially when the church crowd gets out.

Hate to say it but the place is filthy and out dated. We have been going there for years, the food is still good but if you look around you will notice 10 years worth of food stuck in every crevice of the booths and chairs. I am not easily disgusted but This place has gotten so bad I will not go back until I see a closed for remodel sign.

Prices are very good for the amount of food and quality. Eggs Benedict is hands down my favorite thing to get in the morning(their omelettes are good too and not overcooked). This is a great local place for breakfast and more. Plus there usually isn’t a wait and it is a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Service is always pleasant and helpful. PS: get the hash browns they make the meal!

Been here a couple of times and it’s been always great, only downside is that on a Saturday or Sunday morning it’s always busy and you might have to wait a little for a table, but what other breakfast places aren’t? Love that it’s right in sound beach so it makes it really easy for locals to go and enjoy a nice breakfast. Definitely recommend their omelets, they’re delicious. The chocolate chip pancakes are probably my favorite out of every other breakfast place around here. Staff is always friendly and food is always ready in a timely matter.

Have not had a bad experience since my previously mentioned dinner experience. This is becoming my favorite place to eat. There’s a comfort in food, and George’s is one of those places that make me feel right at home.

our new go-to weekend place where you won’t overpay for a great breakfast. their«corned beef hash» is made in house and it shows; not your unrecognizable brown mush, this hash contains actual crumbed corned beef, onions and peppers grilled to their peak of flavor. Pancakes were excellent, rich and buttery. Eggs over easy actually came out over easy. Coffee is rich and gets refilled by eager servers. And you won’t pay a fortune for breakfast. It’s not a fancy place but they’ve got the essentials down, good food done right and affordable.

I’m a fan. The food is freshly and prepared to order. Walking into Georges is like walking through a time portal — immediately transported to a time and place when life was simpler. Food is prepared with no gimmicks, simple ingredients and with a «just like Mom made» flair. I am a repeat customer. I will note a couple of people that I dined there with complained that the food was too rich, heavy or greasy. That definitely was not my experience.

Just so it’s clear — this is NOT a fancy place. You’re not going to find anything here with truffle oil on it, or braised, or anything with«sun-chokes» in a purée… This is old-school good stuff, done right. This is «feel good food» in a simple setting. Read the Unilocal reviews, and had to make a visit. I was not disappointed. Service is super-friendly, cheerful, and attentive. Had breakfast — and I can only say this — FIVESTARS — not because the food is superb fine-dining, but because George’s Kitchen knows what it wants to produce, and does it RIGHT. My wife had a «Club Omelette», and raved about it the whole time she was eating, as if each bite tasted like chocolate. Potatoes were that good mix of soft and crispy bits — not over seasoned, but delightful. My corned-beef hash was a thing of beauty. It was freshly prepared — not a mush, but a home style blending of big chunks of meat, peppers, onions, and potatoes. My only complaint was that my over-easy eggs were cooked more towards over-medium/hard — I prefer my yolks runny. In most cases, I would have sent them back, but the hash was so moist and delicious, it didn’t need the yolks to moisten it, so I simply enjoyed it as it was. 2-egg breakfasts appear to come with 3 eggs… I’m not certain what happens if you order a 3-egg breakfast, but if I ever do, I’ll follow up with the answer :) Lunch-type food that was coming out as we left made us very interested in returning for another meal. How nice it is, to have found a local, family run establishment, that delivers on what’s important, spares the pretence, and makes you feel all warm and snugly!
